    I think the best way to expain Rose's voice is raw talent. She did not train much compared to a alot of other idols but she loves music, and was born w a unique voice. She is not a power vocalist and she is not the "best" out there but she is very unique and that in my opinion is all that matters. I personally love her voice.

    The thing that steps her aside from other vocalist in the kpop scene is the fact that she can pour emotion into her voice and fr she has a gifted voice . Kpop has plenty of vocalist that can hit high notes (not discrediting them) but you need something that can make you stand out of the crowd

      I would probably go further & say that it's not just due to BP's songs but also potentially due to the K-pop in general. While K-pop does have some unique voices I don't think that the industry really knows how [or wants] to deal with them to get the best out of them because it would deviate too far from a standard group formula. It seems the industry want to try to embrace them to add a certain vocal interest to a group but then the producers, writers, arrangers just give the standard K-pop songs arranged to meet a formulaic mould of how groups should be and sound. I mean how often do you hear low female voices featured or hear songs written in a way that optimise a voice such as Rose’s in K-pop in general. Rarely. It’s not just a BP, YG thing, it’s a K-pop idol industry.

    Wow she reminds me a lot of Avril Lavigne’s and Dia Frampton’s style of singing. Rosé’s voice is more grating though & not as heavy in weight. Her vocal choices (decided for her or not) don’t bring out the best in her voice. The cursive singing along with too much nasality is much too sensual. It’s too “obvious” with the slight yodel endings too. It would be nice if she cleaned up her voice more without so many ornamentations. Her voice itself is sugary sweet already enough.

  • @userabby17
    @userabby17 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

    she has a really nice voice that like a lot of comments have said, sounds fantastic in an acoustic setting with her and her guitar. That's why I think her talent is wasted on debuting her in a rap heavy group like BLACKPINK, where her real vocal talented is normally just used like Miyeon from GIDLE, as fillers hear and there. Of course they have had great usage for her voice in their songs, but the whole concept of BLACKPINK, doesn't exactly accommodate her voice well in my opinion. I think there is way too many idols getting out in groups that aren't meant for them, and they get doubled down to a prechorus singing Main vocalist

    I would actually consider Rosie as a singer not a typical vocalist as she has passion for music she is really serious when it comes about music. She can play many instruments as well like guitar,piano etc Its really rare to have a main vocalist in a group who is multi talented who can dance well sing well play instruments write and produce lyrics and show passion to the music. I''ve only seen Rosie who has all of it she is the only one who wrote her own solos and many songs too like u never know some lyrics were produced by her while some by jennie. Lemme tell u one thing vocal isnt all about high notes and vocal tiers it can be seen through a vocalist's eyes and voice what type of vocalist they're. I mean there must've been a reason rosie has the title golden voice of korea its not becz she is the main vocalist it because she knows very well how to use her voice even though she had a deep voice and her high notes are relly good she had to change her ovice becz of the company but now she seems to be comfortable with her changed voice and its really difficult to sing in changed voice. So Rosie is my fav singer in kpop. I'm not a blink or anything im a multistan and i know many groups and many vocalists especially wendy,ning ning winter and all sm town main vocalist they had been trained for years about vocals they were given training and about notes but rosie just got selected and she became a idol becz of the decision made by her dad as she sang all night which disturbed him. All those main vocalists have some similar voice and rosie has the most unique among all as it is recognible and it is angelic.

    I wanted to start this comment off by saying this analysis was beautiful. I wanted to add something to this:
    As KPop idols sing and dance, Stability is a needed skill and that usually shows control and breath support. Due to Rosé's stylistic choices, she often has shallow breath support that leads her to become pitchy and out of breath. You can notice that the most in On The Ground. She seems to always be gasping for air when using her lower register and struggles to hit the higher notes. Whereas with Jisoo and Jennie, because they don't force themselves to sing a different way, they sound much more stable when singing their solos.

    • @r-recordbreaker947
      @r-recordbreaker947 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      It because you hear their loud backtrack while rosé is is louder than the backtrcak. And yeah sometimes she use her deep voice live.

    • @CosmosAndWinter
      @CosmosAndWinter 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@r-recordbreaker947 it's not because of loud backtracks.
      Jisoo's solo is incredibly difficult to sing for her vocal range but because she's not modifying her voice and is focusing all of her breath and air flow into singing and dancing, it comes out much better.
      Jennie's solos are both comfortable in her register and she overpowers the backtrack, just like Jisoo. Jennie also doesn't modify her voice which is why it sounds so easy when she sings her solo.
      Rosé's solo should sit comfortably within her voice but because of her style of singing, she struggles to hit the notes. Instead of focusing her air flow into an even Distribution of breath support and oxygen for her muscles, she's focusing on narrowing her airways so that a squeakier, more high pitched voices comes out. This makes her breath support extremely shallow and she ends up doing the same thing as TWICE Mina - going nasal and off-pitch.

    I really appreciate an honest and well considered opinion, it so hard to find in K-pop fandom these days. personally I think its more to do with the fact that her vocal style does not particularly match the style of songs that are so prevalent in K-pop. Her style and diction-with what I would refer to as lazy vowels-have a definite australian twang/affect to them. To me there are elements that are reminisent of indie pop/acoutstic artists that became popular in Australia in the 1990s such Missy Higgins, Sarah Blasko, Ben Lee, and Kate Miller-Heidke (when she would have been growing up here). It's also a vocal style that still seems really prevalent in a lot of indie rock pop music circles in Australia even now. To me as an Australian its a familiar sound so I'm not overly bothered by it or wowed> I will say though because its a style that I associated more with acoustic and stripped back songs I like her more and her voice shines more when she sings those styles. I can see however why it could be a bit polarising for a lot of people in k-pop though.

    I think the golden voice pertains to the stylish quality of epse voice. Technically, she isn't the best vocalist in kpop, however, she can perform and sing w/ low, middle, high note songs, albeit her range isn't that great like wendy, strong like ailee or jihyo. Gold is timeless, classic. Rose herself isnt the best vocalist but w / her vocal color & quality , she can actually sing different type of songs. If she can be trained more or if taught more effective & safe techniques to utilize the full potential of her vocal abilities, she can actually be better than other main vocalist. At the end of the day it's all abt preference. Some may hate her voice even if she had mastered the best techniques already, while some will still love her voice as it is.

    This is a great analysis of Rosé's vocal abilities. Personally I feel her vocals shine more when she sings covers of songs she obviously loves, and that she's comfortable to sing to, and this is where I believe her pronounciation is able to come to the fore and be heard more clearly.
    A lot of people often comment that Rosé's pronounciation is unique, and indeed it would be to most, but to me her pronounciation is not too disimilar to an Australian artist called Sarah Blasko. The majority of Sarah Blasko's music is probably more suited to Rosé's vocal style, and as with Rosé, Sarah Blasko is not by any means an accomplished vocalist, but she does have a great voice, as does Rosé.

    It's good when she gets enough air when she sings; Especially considering that she tends to have a nasal voice. Belting refers to using proper opera-training-belt breathing. She does not use classical/pure vowels because she sings with her Australian accent.

    We know that Rosè is not the best singer on the planet. I'm an Adele's fan. I don't need to be a musician or a vocal coach to acknowledge that Rosè isn't technically perfect. On the other hand she sings with her soul and many many people find her singing soothing . I personally love love love her voice.

She has room for improvement like anyone else, but people use their popularity to be harsh on her and like to downplay her ability to do things...like i get calling and using words as "weak, inconsistent, etc." But then people go out their way to say generic and she isn't capable of being a good singer..

    In this comment section I'm gonna be praising Rose as an imperfect yet brave human being, a woman who works hard to be in her place right now as a K-Pop Idol. Biased? Sure, because I love her. And the truth is, as a fan of Rose and Blackpink, being in love to them especially Rose for 7 years made me realize that my love is blind. I love everything about them, including their imperfection. One thing that I'm sure of, with their kind heart, even after their job is done being an idol, if they decide to be a youtuber later, they're gonna take a different path from people who take advantage of their name into contents for youtube. In this world, good or bad is only a matter of perspective - not a way to judge others. I love the imperfect Rose and Blackpink. Period. Goodbye. See you in hell.

This lets us get something beautiful from her voice but not the most that we could get from the song.

    Rose is a very peculiar case in the Kpop space, bc I have other singers in mind with similar traits to hers, but they are not that overhyped and overhated at the same time and the reason is the popularity of BP and how over the top the fandom is.
    Rose has passion and natural talent for music and that is something no one can deny, but truth be told she doesn't get the proper training and opportunities to improve.
    That being said, her color and style can sound annoying and not being liked by many people and I am one of them. I have a beef with the indie girl vocals not only with her but with many other singers. Also, I do not specifically enjoy the very high-pitched voices that K-pop loves. Winter for example is a more than decent singer, but her voice is 100% not for me, the same goes for Rose, her voice and my ears just don't work well together.

    Winter does better than both of them up to C5 contently... She does in fact sound light up there (assuming that's your reasoning for it) is because Winter is a high soprano... I don't think people understand that Golden Voice OF KOREA isn't about her vocal technique, but about the emotion when she sings. People often forget that music is about emotion, not technique. No matter how good your vocal technique, no matter how high or low your notes, they don't work if there's no emotion. Because at its core, music is about freedom of expression (message, story).

    • @unknownunknown69649

But I would consider Rosé a similar singer than Halsey, as someone who prioritizes style over technique and has a bright, femenine, recognizable timber. She's an adecuate pop singer: not terrible, not great as a vocalist. She seems like a sweet girl and has a good girl vibe, her energy is pleasant and elegant. Her stage presence is not impressive though, for a kpop idol, I think she could improve both as as singer and as a performer.
