I think we need a Two Star & The Dream Police (live) album. Having all these live performances on streaming would be really nice.
YES
best comment ever
youtube music has it - i listen to it constantly
@@jackrossouw5668 Yep I listen to all his live music on TH-cam Music
cant u rip the audio from youtube and put it on your spotify?
i need to hear everything that went down on this bus.
LMAOOO forreal
Sounds better than the studio album!
mixing bus?
That is a wild sound you get running through your Tascam Cassette Record. I'm a 71 year old musician and always looking for the next big thing. Brother, you've found it. The sound you get is so unique. I could listen all day.
This generation’s Prince.
No.
And I hope this compariason doesn't stat stick on this guy (like for Sam Fender "the new Springsteen"...), he just needs to be himself and find his own way, with no unattainable comparisons, in my opinonin.
I’m 61 and the 80’s were the best years of my life. The vibe and nostalgia of this song gave me warmth & made me smile the entire song.
Salute OG ❤️
That guitar had something to say 😭
That bitch be screaming outta turn but it’s always on time! 😂🔥
bro has the angriest yet chillest vibe, the most treble driven yet low fi tone, the most exquisite textures yet pop-oriented songs...instantly in awe with such freshness and how the extreme opposite vibes equal in such a cool result
I feel like this man is dying and being reborn at the same time. So raw
Great comment
this comment ❤
I think this is as hard as can be gone. You can go this hard, but no harder. This is the limit of hard going.
this... might be real talk.
Man took it to the edge, then flipped the edge off and stepped out into the abyss without looking back.
Totally
@@kritiosboyLike did a flip off of the edge, or looked down and flipped off 🖕🖕the edge before jumping? Or did a flip off the edge WHILE flipping off the edge...cuz THAT would be legendary.
one of those artists that makes you say “i’m so lucky to be alive at the same time as them to hear their music”
lol
the way dijon and mkgee influence each other is out of this world, they move in a space completely of their own and witnessing their progression separately, for the past 6 years or so.
But speaking about mkgee on this album he’s really shown his gift to write songs that, despite their crazy and unconventional production style, are as catchy as some of the GREATEST pop songs ever. Are you looking up and Candy are prime examples of that
could not agree with this more
They’re frequent collaborators and back eachother on one another’s songs.
@@FatJoesSon u'd think, if he been a fan since 2018 he'd know they work together
ya man, dijon’s album feels like a collab album. i fn love both of them.
Dude I just found out about them THIS WEEK and I want MORE!!!
*"YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE I FANTISIZE!"*
Candy’s wasting her own time at this point.
“YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE I fnTISI-IZE”
This is a certified hood classic
He’s bonded with that guitar, fckn amazing
Man I can’t wait for his TinyDesk performance. It might even beat Paak’s
hasn’t missed a single time in his entire career.
Actually unreal
I feel bad because I want to make music and I love him so much but I feel like if I miss him to much I’m going to try and be exactly like him. I don’t want that so I just starve myself. Going to his live set tho 😈
@nopillzplease2830 honestly, fair point. I appreciate it
@nopillzplease2830 thank you for speaking to me. It’s rare to be found in a sea of comments
@@charmassacre3941I agree with nopillzplease2830!!
a live album would go insane
Factsss
Somehow the music is both nostalgic and something I've never heard before! How is that possible?!
The melodies and chords are pure pop, but the arrangement and mix are unusual, and the guitar tone is unique. I've certainly heard lo-fi guitar before, but his particular sound is truly his own.
I think the nostalgia comes from hearing something that is actually real, again
thats exactly what he was going for, a good word to describe what you feel is 'liminal'
@@oross4001 Just heard that in an interview, and when Mk.Gee talked about this I almost jumped out of my seat and shouted "YES! So that’s what I was feeling, just didn’t know how to put it into words!" When an artist has a goal, creates art that reaches that goal, and then is also like the mentor that explains to you what you’re experiencing... I’m in awe.
It’s so great to see young people using guitars in new ways. This is fantastic… some vintage sounds but totally the future.
I've listened to this at least 50 times now and I'm convinced its one of the greatest songs I have ever heard. incredible melody and vocal performance along with unique guitar phrasing and tone. just.. wow.. so modern and fresh. .. low key would have topped the charts in '86 regardless of what anyone else put out at the time. I hope for your recognition while also hoping you stay true to your music.
Good for you. Opening melody is just Like "First Cut Is the Deepest" written by Cat Stevens in the 60's and the rest sounds like an 80's song with a sloppy guitar solo random special effects over it. I don't understand what people get worked up over these days....
Perfect vibe of nostalgia for music of a lost generation, expressed by an artist from a generation born 20 years later. Incredible talent.
This dude…I’ve come back several times. It gets under your skin quick. His vocals fry the whole time. I love unconventional delivery.
Serious Jai Paul Vibes to this. The way he plays, reminds me of a flawed but expressive love language. Been listening to How many miles and Candy when they were released as singles.
His guitar playing and effects setup is fantastic, of course, but don't sleep on that uncanny vocal resemblance to a very young Todd Rundgren, nor that hypogogic in-and-out-of-focus singing style a la John Martyn. Sublime stuff.
If you wanna hear someone else do a really interesting, sorta almost "abstract expressionist" vocal/guitar performance like this, where there's a range of dynamics and clarity that could be described as "too much on purpose", listen to John Martyn's '70s material. "Bless The Weather", "May You Never", the extra weird and creepy "Solid Air"...lotsa great songs. FWIW, "Head And Heart" is also like what Bon Iver would sound like to me if I could....you know, actually get into it. That's just me.
Spot on I thought of John Martyn too
@@zorantaylor3190 thanks for the recommendation. Not sure how I made it this long without hearing him. Amazing stuff. Reminds me a bit of Tim Buckley
Why is the live so much better than the album version? It’s actually a STARK difference in sound
It’s raw
@@mizterJerk4LiFE I just can’t understand the direction they went with for the album. It’s almost unlistenable compared to the live stuff.
@@ryanbuckner2405 might grow on you as you listen that’s art some people hate abstract some people can’t stop staring at it so your opinion isn’t wrong at all boss
@@mizterJerk4LiFE very true
I don’t get the hate for the album versions, the album is amazing
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MAKE GOOD MUSIC REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY TELL YOU YOU SHOULD MAKE.
MUSIC HAS NEVER CHANGED. PEOPLE TRIED TO TELL US WHAT MUSIC SHOULD BE.
they're just wasting time.
do not stop.
quit yappin
Nail it ⚡️
POV: you’re sitting opposite of a Disheveled homeless man, who is absolutely shredding the most immaculate riff imaginable, on a public transport vehicle.
This is like like listening to Tame Impala for the first time or Queen and or even Michael Jackson. Fucking masterpiece
thank you, mike
This album feels like it seeped into our reality from an alternate plane. Never heard anything like this. We have legends living among us.
Listen to Absolutely by Dijon if you haven't yet. That's how I felt about Absolutely and then found this album and was like why does it sound so familiar and found out later that Mk.gee is all over Absolutely. They share a super similar vibe
“All I need is a miracle. All i need is you.”
with a little "Daytripper" thrown in
currently the sexiest man on the planet atm
Spotify needs these live versions so bad
My man sold his soul to the devil. He shreds.
That first explosive hit gives me life
RELEASE THE FILM
it kills me cuz i know it exist and i don’t have it yet
What film?
@@EdmondOliverLivesthe film
Generational album & rollout 😮💨 so happy to see this man rise
this is history in the making we finna look back at this years from now when hes performing at the superbowl
Dude looks like Frusciante during Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T shirt era but healthier and plays the music that Frusciante was imagining he was playing. Great work dude.
That's such a good comparison
The Talent & Attitude is like one of those great artists from the back in the days. Not a lot of people have this nowadays, great to see its coming back
His music is like he’s actually from 2024 and we’re in the 80s.
O=
Exactly this!!! You put it into words the way it was jumbled in my mind 😂😂
Loving this dude, I’m getting Unknown Mortal Orchestra acoustically, Phil Collins or fleetwood Mac vibes 🎸✨
Jai Paul is clearly a big influence for him
biggest one you're missing is eric johnson, listen to the song victory.
Prince
@@cloudmalcolm nice one, will do!
@@pandadoublexl Great shout 💯
Very rarely do i stumble on someone who stops the whole music scene in it's tracks, this is astounding. ❤❤❤❤
I am literally addicted , the more i listen the more i want to keep listening ❤
bro's guitar wants a verse dawg
He has similar tone on his guitar - that's what makes him remind people of Prince. Actually I think his playing reminds me of Richard Thompson. There's a huge folkie style of playing that sounds really good to me.
Cool analysis. He kinda gives me Mike Oldfield vibes with his production. Very talented.
Never been so excited seeing someone live in my life! See you soon in paris mk.geeeee, you're the goat!
Completely in a world of his own. Loved museum of contradiction but this album he’s really landed on something singular.
I think maybe I need a few more listens, initially I've preferred MOC, just feels more complete to me.
God this album is so good. Need whole album of these versions tho
ah man... i cant believe i get to exist in the same timeline as mkgee
That's what I said about Zappa
another phenomenal performance - been listening to the hell out of this album
First Cut Is The Deepest vibes in the vocal.
I love how it makes me feel
Need this on spotifyyyyyyy
I seriously can't believe this song exists.
For real...personnal preferences put aside...when was the last time you heard something so different and original?
My favorite song on the album since it dropped as a single got me through a really weird time
i keep going back to this one
Bros got some hadron collider guitar upgrades how tf does he make those clashing sword sounds
His Tascam. Rhett Shull just covered this
You have to download the hadron coliider DLC
@@hamburger512 insanity
@@hamburger512Its also his Roland pickup + V Guitar combo to some extent as well
I don’t believe that’s guitar making all those sounds. Do see how that would be possible. I’ve been playing my whole life.
Dude plays with so much soul. It is beautiful watching him perform music that he truly loves. No fluff, just raw talent ❤
This is media done perfectly.. Beautiful music, beautifully captured. Nothing beats live music in person, but this gets damn close.
i swear that guitar of his is something else
Extremely 80's, in the best way possible.
I love you tall White man with a guitar
prince smiling somewhere
Agreed. I picked up on the similarity the first time I heard this song.
CANDY IS ALL IN MY BIDNESS! 💯
Now I'm imagining a skit of the bus driver's pov. Like if you didnt ask him to record this and at first he's like "What is bro on about." By the end though he's vibing and appreciating his usual route under a new light
Glad this is blowing up
I notice Prince layering of music in essence of this song.
Mk.kee this is the weirdest yet the most beautiful creation of music i have heard in my entire life.
Candy is one of the best songs ever written I love this song
Jack karasweski I’m pretty sure is the master mind behind all this . I know he produced the absolutely film for Dijon and I really hope we get a similar live film for these train performances. Seeing a live version of DNM is a need!
Ben lederman produced!
here for a third time and it won’t be my last
I'm enjoying the harsh anxiety up-strums
Its like Pat Matheny and Todd Rundgren had a baby...and that baby started an 80's band...this is genius level.
He really loves that jacket
I really enjoy listening to this. Thank you for creating it & sharing
just miles ahead of everyone
this man invented music
First time seeing someone in this genre fucking mean it, this guy is makin MUSIC, Say it with me
he is him
I watch this at least twice a day
matt ox is genre bending
Candy is all in my business
And if she's lookin' hard, she will find it (Mmm)
Candy, you're just wastin' time (Mmm)
Girl, you just like to fantasize
Yeah, Candy likes to fantasize
[Verse 1]
In the heat of the night, you come calling
Screaming like you lost all your conscience
Well, I repeat it time from time
The only one I fantasize
The only one I fantasize
You're the only one I fantasize
[Verse 2]
I've done some bad, I won't fake it
I got patterns, don't think I'll shake it
Ah, but you fucked up too, and that's fine
I cut you slack, you cut me mine
I cut you slack, you cut me mine
[Chorus]
Candy is all in my business
And if she's lookin' hard, she will find it (Mmm)
Candy, you're just wastin' time (Mmm)
I really can't put words to how this video (and entire album) makes me feel. Happy to be alive while this dropped.
This whole album is like nothing i’ve ever heard before. Literally stumbled across it on spotify and haven’t put it down since, massive love from Australia my dude
This album saved me
This just leaves you speechless and emotionless at the same time your brain and soul can’t comprehend what this man is doing it’s absolutely beautiful
Got abit of a Prince feel to it.
Clapton wasn't wrong. This guy is incredible.
AAAAHHHH he’s so good
it’s hard to fathom even how good this 😭
This dude is fucking amazing
will NEVER get bored of this album ✨
This album is a timeless masterpiece
I literally can't stop listening to this song dude. what did you put in this?!?!
I'm surprised to see a production team of 17 people for a video consisting of a one single long shot. It looks flawless and everything is superbly excecuted and I'm sure everyone played their part resulting in a succesful end product. Many would do this kind of a video with a team of 3-4 people, so I'm glad they didn't.
we need "you got it live" OMG
Cannot wait for your Vancouver show; never bought tickets and booked a night off work so fast in my life.
You know you’re one of the best when not only your music it’s amazing, but the videos too
this week this is my fave song off the album
you know when an album is going to be timeless ❤️
