Navy ship USS Vega sails with 5,561 tons of supplies for the victims of the Great Kanto earthquake. This film was shot by a Fox newsreel cameraman in San Francisco on September 20, 1923. Just over 18 years later, this same vessel would be anchored at Pearl Harbor and yet escape destruction. #GreatKantoEarthquake
