    There was a mansion here where I live that was covered in green vines even worse than this one. I drove by it for 30 years most every day and thought why doesn't someone fix it up. One day ten or so years ago a local builder bought it and restored it to it's former glory. It is one of the top homes in my area now. In fact it might look better now than it did when new it is that amazing!

    Brilliant attention to detail... very inspiring, like a book, as if those walls could narrate a rather sad story.

    Really well done. Thank you for showing us the property itself. So many URBEX vids are basically video selfies. Yeah, I don't care about seeing some person's face the whole video and maybe catching a glimpse of the house over their shoulder if I'm lucky. You did it right!!
    For the record and to correct some of the comments already left, this is not a Georgian house. It is Gothic Revival. I'd peg it around 1840s at the very earliest but more likely 1860s. It has some definite Irish details to it. That idiot squawking that this house isn't in Ireland can shove off.
    Oh, and how would "lying" that it's in Ireland be "click bait" anyway?? I came to watch an URBEX vid. I didn't click because you said it was in Ireland. You could have said it was in the frigging Ukraine for all I care; I'd still have watched it. But hey, that fool apparently knows every single house in Ireland so we all stand corrected, right?

      Such houses cost an arm and 4 legs to renovate and to restore to it's former glory. Every square inch of walls. ceilings and decor inside and outside have to be attended to and restored authentically. This is not made easy by architectural consultants, local authority involvement, planning costs ets. Sometimes it is better to let it die gracefully,,, and cry when it is gone☹️☹️

    Beautiful house, late Georgian I would imagine. It hasn't been abandoned too long.
    I imagine it is in Limbo on account of a legacy issue.
    However, once upon a time you could live in a house like this and have cheap servants and gardeners. And have educated and civilised neighbours to meet and enjoy. Now that is not really possible, nor is there much sense of community in much of the countryside, unless you are old and traditional.
    Ireland has changed. It is very expensive to live here now and without staff, you don't enjoy much security. Consequently you dont feel safe and home insurance premiums are very high.

    • @earthman6700
      @earthman6700 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I was shocked at how expensive Ireland is now. Twenty years ago it was far better. How 'safe' is Ireland these days? You have a lot of Travellers, are they a problem?

    • @connoroleary591
      @connoroleary591 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@earthman6700 yes it is very expensive here now, even food products made in Ireland are more expensive here than they are in the UK.
      Criminality is an issue, there are drug and gang problems that have spilled out into the countryside. There is an element of the travelling community who do seem to engage in criminality, but that is hardly surprising when you consider the abuse and discrimination they have endured over the past hundred years.
      We have litttle to offer in terms of value for money or climate. The government really needs to make Ireland a good destination for return visitors; not to exploit the naive and fleece them during their first and final visit.

    • @earthman6700
      @earthman6700 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@connoroleary591 Thank you for your reply. Ireland was a place I wanted to move to around 1998. It still appeals to me but out of my reach now.

      @@earthman6700 don't be put off entirely.
      One thing that had changed for the better is the Peace Process.
      Northern Ireland has some good housing stock, cheap by the standards of the South and the UK.
      The people are friendly, you could find yourself a very nice, cosy place to live, between hills, beaches and towns. And the systems there work along the same lines as the mainland.
      Good luck in your quest!

    This style of architecture has lovely proportions, fine sized living space, lots of light and beautiful features. There's a background noise that you can hear on the outside of the house in some of the scenes. Is it a busy road or a river? I'm guessing a road. The first thing to fix is the roof to protect the property.

The newspaper you show is an English paper though, I recognise two of the car dealers names still in business, one in Lanchashire and one it Watford. They were looking for my grandfather. Lost all 5 businesses, and homes. They hada music shop, pet store, food store, laundry mat, and a shoe store. Just small business people. And asked for nothing when all was lost. My father never got to see his dad after 4 yrs of age. I'm 62. Hopefully the loser died.

      Not everyone is able to experience the supernatural and not everyone is all that bothered by it. I live in a 400 year old house and occasionally see things here and there. It's just part of earth and the physics that we don't quite understand. Not scary at all.

      @@jacob171@jacob171 you can believe what you want. You clearly haven't read all my comments. This is a georgian style house. If it was in Ireland it would on the georgian register. A register I have access to. Obviously this is not your area of expertise. However, do you really think all those stained glass windows ornate covings, windows, doors, ceiling roses would be still there in a house with just a fence around it ? If you do , you've no idea what lengths people will go to in order to strip a place like that.
      Many people have called BS on this being in Ireland. The one thing everyone who claims to know where it is has in common, is that not one can identify the location.
