There haven’t been any power or signal issues to the amp. Most of the electrical in the car is running down that side, so I like to keep it with those. My RCAs I always run on the opposite side or down the middle.

I like the touch screen and I convert videos from different sources and once my Pioneer is hooked up, I add infinity door speakers/tweeters and a nice 2 12in subs with a 2 amp combo. So basically "I blast whatever I watch" - If it's a converted video with a very high quality sound, I will upset EVERYBODY at the red light - just like tonight, my Maxima is near death. @dj gelo. I took it out pretty shortly after the video. Did some hacking of the factory unit to get the imid working like normal. I heard that using the maestro interface cuts out the top screen completely. There’s not really a perfect solution for it.
ocyllax The instructions say to connect the speed sensor wire to the blue/pink wire on the interface harness. I have a link to the instructions in the video description if you need it. The instructions are a mess though.
AyyJayy02 do you remember what exactly the green speed sensor wire does? And just so I understand, you’re connecting the green/white wire on the interface harness to a blue/pink wire on the power harness? Or is that green/white wire connecting to a harness in the vehicle?
I wasn’t able to get that to work. It was weird, because when I had the aftermarket interface connected, I could get the phone buttons to work and not the volume and seek. That’s what I got when I did the new setup and it still did the same thing. I defaulted the aswc-1 and I got the volume and seek working, but I wasn’t able to get the phone buttons to work. So I’m guessing the wiring is right because it worked at one point. I never tried calling axxess about it though.
AyyJayy02 so I just left my installer and got it to work. Metra has the wrong instructions maestro apparently knew what to do. You need the grey/blue wire which connects to the Bluetooth module connected. That Bluetooth module is in the dash under one of the kickplates apparently it’s different for every accord but it has a bluetooth logo on it. He tapped into that and all steering wheel buttons work including Siri.
zeeshan siddiqui Oh snap! They didn’t have Idatalink for the accord at the time I did this. I have the factory radio hacked up and crammed behind the dash right now to keep the top screen working like factory. Does the top screen work alright? All buttons functional with the Maestro unit?
AyyJayy02 I’m using the metra kit but had to use instructions from maestro to get steering wheel controls to work right. You need the blue/gray wire to connect to the Bluetooth module which is separate and in the dash or near the kickplate.
zeeshan siddiqui Okay, gotcha. Are you liking it so far? I just wasn’t a fan of the Metra interface. The backup camera showed up really dark. That’s why I went the route I did after trying it. I may try the Maestro module eventually. I just looked it up and it’s compatible with that Accord now.
I bought the whole kit from Crutchfield. It came with the dash piece and the interface. I don’t think you can install an aftermarket radio without the aftermarket dash piece. You may want to check with Crutchfield and see if the Maestro unit is compatible with that year Accord now. It wasn’t at the time that I made these videos. If it is, I’d suggest going that route.
can't you just remove the Honda accord stereo out and plug this new Alpine in there? why would you need a face plate ? isn't the Alpine compatible with current face plate? Did all the harness come with the Alpine or you have to get them separately ?
The factory stereo face is that whole piece including the air vents. It’s not like the older stereos where you can just slide it out. My 09 civic was the same way. It’d be nice if it was that easy to swap out. The main harness for the Alpine came with that head unit. The other interface stuff came with the aftermarket dash kit.
That’s understandable. I’m pretty particular with my wiring and I’d rather do it myself. Each shop that I’ve had work on my previous cars didn’t do it right and I had issues.
I think that’s how most new vehicles are now. I miss the days of just getting a cheap dash kit and sliding in the new radio. There’s so much extra electronics involved with new cars.

Didn't watch the whole video but does that harness let you utilize the top screen while still being able to access the settings for TPMS and other stuff
Hello, I have a white 2017 Honda Accord sport special edition will this work in this car? Crutch field doesn’t have a car radio recommended for this car. Did you have the Same problem?
It said it was compatible on Crutchfield back when I got it. The reviews must have been so bad that they changed that. Personally, If I could go back, I would have kept it stock and only used an audio processor.
Do the fuel economy screens still work when ur cycling through the top screen?
They do still work with the steering wheel buttons.
Thanks for the great video! I have a 2015 Accord Coupe and had a Pioneer HU installed with the Metro dashkit. However, every time I try to use the TPMS calibration, nothing happens. Did you have issues with TPMS calibration with this kit? thanks!
I only had it installed for a short time. Not long enough to see any issues like that. Sorry I couldn’t be much help with that
Hello! Can you please tell me how you navigate to Tpms? I just got a 14 accord but I can't seem to find the way to the tpms reset option.
@@humanentity2214 you can reset TPMS by pushing the button on that is left of steering wheel. you can calibrate it by navigating through vehicle settings
@@citygirl9678 thank you, I kept pressing and finally the whole menu opened up. Thanks 🙏 how do you like you car, when did you buy it, how many miles? I just got mine yesterday, 2014 Honda Accord sport
@@AyyJayy02 did you upgrade to something else or get rid of the car? Im in the market for a new deck but I was wondering if you knew a better one than the vid 2022
On top of the kit you still have to get the steering wheel control harness? Or that comes in thay expensive ass kit?
If I’m not mistaken, it came with the kit
Nevermind. The Aswc-1 is separate. But it plugs directly into the harness that comes with the kit.
Same goes for my side mirror camera.
I just installed this into a 2017 Honda Accord and am having the same issue with the backup camera. Did you ever figure anything out? I'm thinking about getting an additional rearview camera to connect to the Alpine, but will probably be a huge pain to install
I did another video after this one resolving that issue, but it involves hacking up the factory radio, some fancy wiring, and burying it behind the dash.
where is the video so I can see
Can i use the same microphone that use the accord or i have to change what it bring the aftermarket radio??
I could be wrong, but I don’t think there is an adapter that lets you use the factory microphone. Aftermarket will probably work better with an aftermarket unit
Ok thanks
Did you get that harness from broly on eBay
The harness that I used in this video came with the dash kit
What's the GPS antenna for. That unit doesn't come with nav
What antenna adapter did you use, because the one it comes with doesn't have anything to connect to. And I saw that I need the Metra 40-HD31.. Is it different on the Accord sport then the EX-L.
40-HD11 is what I got. I’m not sure if it’s different between Accord models. That what Crutchfield recommended when I was ordering.
I used this same set up. I have 3 wires left over on the metra harness. And in there is a in used harness from the car. Did u run into that
I think there was at least a couple wires leftover. One was for the dimmer, I believe. I really don’t remember about the others.
Did you have any problems with the Module to hook up the connection from the oem and the steering wheel connection because every time I back up disorders changes the stereo to go off or change . So the company I got the module from which came with a indash kit from Crutchfield they’re sending me another one and let’s see if it works
I don’t remember having issues with that. I only had it in for a short time though.
@@AyyJayy02 oh ok let’s hope I can fix my problem tomorrow
Did you ever figure out what is the back up cámara for the original ? Like from original back to a new stereo , I got everything else down
I never tried that. I’m leaving it alone until I can try the idatalink module. I’d imagine it only shows the backup display on the top screen unless you change the camera and connect it to the new headunit.
What radio kit u used cuz I have a 1” gap with the kit I’ve used
It’s the Metra dash kit. 99-7804. It lets you slide the headunit inward and outward to make it flush.
@@AyyJayy02 where did you bought the kit from I’m interested on getting one
I bought it from crutchfield. I’m not sure if it’s available anymore though.
how are you selecting the menues on the upper screen???
Steering wheel controls
Where can I get a double den for the alpine screen I’ve been trying to look everywhere and nothing
a.co/d/gfhvB0R I found this one on Amazon. The one I have in the video was purchased from Crutchfield back in 2016. I can't find it on there anymore. The kit was good, but the interface was terrible.
@@AyyJayy02 thanks so much man for responding back i wanna put a alpine touchscreen on this kit hopefully it fits. i believe the touchscreen is 7 inch
How did you connect the back up camera? And Does the turn signal camera still work?
Backup camera connected through the interface that came with the kit. The car doesn’t have any turn signal camera.
I got a question, if you can please help me out. I might be interested in a 2016 Honda Accord Sport Coupe. They claim on Crutchfield, that you can NOT change the radio on that specific vehicle, but I'm wondering - is that a FACT or a Error ????
The car I got, it died but it has a good system in it, that I gotta remove. If you know anything, please do share.
You can change the radio. They probably say you can’t change it, because the interface they were selling is terrible. Personally, with all the troubles that I had changing it, I would never do it again.
@@AyyJayy02 - Thanks for the info. I was gonna have my tech at the Best Buy Geek Squad do it. He's done a few cars for me in the past. The thing is, I know the shape of the radio matches the "sedan version of the car". If I do get the Accord Sport Touring 2 door, I had to ask myself - What's the difference in the radios ???
Does the Touring not already come with a touchscreen?
@@AyyJayy02 - Let me share a few little secrets
I get a big stiffy from having a Pioneer stereo in my car. I have tried JVC, Kenwood, Alpine (grunt) but Pioneer rules and I tried everything before giving into the KING. Now I like "multimedia Pioneers" - mp3, DVD and mp4. So I took Pop's Altima with a Pioneer/Polk System. I was upsetting the guy next to me. Think he was driving some corny axx Golf or something. Whatever Honda offers, it won't scratch the surface of the systems I like getting installed. (SORRY for the long answer, but I hope it wasn't too boring)
I was CLOSE to choosing Pioneer for my truck though. Went with the Alpine Halo9 though. I stay pretty loyal to them when it comes to amps and headunits. Everyone’s got their own preference though. I kinda want to start experimenting with different box builds eventually so see what kind of loud I can get.
Does anyone know where bluetooth module is installed in a 2017 Honda Accord LX (4 cyl)? I suspect mine is dead. Phone menu shows Bluetooth off... Initializing.. Please wait. It's stuck there. I have spent days looking for bluetooth module location on 2017 model. Found nothing yet.
I’m almost positive it’s built into the factory radio of the Accord Sport. I remember seeing a Bluetooth logo when I was hacking it apart.
@@AyyJayy02 Thanks. That makes perfect sense. I spent a week Googling but came up with nothing. I've also disassembled the center console to access the radio (haven't successfully removed the radio yet). All I found under the factory radio is a box (with marking: P/N 39200-T2A-A220-M1) which I believe is ANC. So I suspect bluetooth is built into the radio on 2017 models.
Any idea how to factory reset my radio? The "Reset to Factory Default" option on the menu is grayed out. I've tried removing the fuse (in engine compartment). Radio is off for 24 hours but that did not reset anything. Station presets are still intact when I put the fuse back on.
I’m not sure how to factory reset. Weird that it’s grayed out though. Maybe only dealer resettable?
@@AyyJayy02 - it all started when my car battery died. I couldn't start the engine. Had to buy a new battery. Don't know if this is a coincidence... after replacing car battery, all bluetooth related functions on the menu are grayed out. Factory data reset is also grayed out. I'm still trying to remove the head unit to check if there's a hardware reset button somewhere inside.
Oh wow. That’s weird. Hope you get it figured out.
Could I buy just the interface by itself?
aimzer13 I haven’t seen it available by itself. But that interface is not good at all. Check if they have the update for the Maestro interface. If they do, I’d got that route.
@@AyyJayy02 is it buggy? Have they fixed it to this day?
@dj gelo. I took it out pretty shortly after the video. Did some hacking of the factory unit to get the imid working like normal. I heard that using the maestro interface cuts out the top screen completely. There’s not really a perfect solution for it.
What was the green speed sensor wire connected to?? I couldn’t hear you and that’s the one wire I don’t have connected
ocyllax The instructions say to connect the speed sensor wire to the blue/pink wire on the interface harness. I have a link to the instructions in the video description if you need it. The instructions are a mess though.
AyyJayy02 I don’t see any pink wire on my ilx207’s harnesses, is it missing?
It should be blue and pink. I don’t have that harness anymore where I could check it. But I followed those instructions when I wired it.
AyyJayy02 do you remember what exactly the green speed sensor wire does? And just so I understand, you’re connecting the green/white wire on the interface harness to a blue/pink wire on the power harness? Or is that green/white wire connecting to a harness in the vehicle?
AyyJayy02 I’m referring to what you say exactly at 4:10- around 4:15
WAYYYYY to much work, especially when its not for yourself. Hope ya'll still together
Haha!! Yeah man. Still together. I have some plans for that car after I’m done with my truck.
Where did you purchase kit from?
I bought it from Crutchfield.com. I don’t think they sell it anymore though.
Did you get all steering wheel controls to work including phone? I have volume and seek but not phone pick up and hang up
I wasn’t able to get that to work.
Did you need an aftermarket antenna adapter or can you use the factory one for the new radio?
Had to get an adapter. Metra 40-HD11
Do u need the dash kit to install the dash?.and where did u buy it btw
I bought the whole kit from Crutchfield. It came with the dash piece and the interface. I don’t think you can install an aftermarket radio without the aftermarket dash piece. You may want to check with Crutchfield and see if the Maestro unit is compatible with that year Accord now. It wasn’t at the time that I made these videos. If it is, I’d suggest going that route.
@@AyyJayy02 i found in ebay the dash kit but without cables do i need those cables? What does the hardness do?
Jay Saturday The harness is so you can connect it to power and the speakers (if you’re using the factory speakers)
But really, check with Crutchfield to see if the Maestro unit is compatible with that Accord now. I’m sure you’ll be happier what it.
@@AyyJayy02 im using the after market ones so without it wont power the stereo? Becux i want the tesla screen one
I have 2016 accord sport I went to your link it says dose not fit
Not sure why. That’s the exact one that I bought. 2016 accord sport as well.
can't you just remove the Honda accord stereo out and plug this new Alpine in there? why would you need a face plate ? isn't the Alpine compatible with current face plate? Did all the harness come with the Alpine or you have to get them separately ?
The factory stereo face is that whole piece including the air vents. It’s not like the older stereos where you can just slide it out. My 09 civic was the same way. It’d be nice if it was that easy to swap out. The main harness for the Alpine came with that head unit. The other interface stuff came with the aftermarket dash kit.
I’d rather pay a radio shop honestly.. it was easier to install a new radio on my ‘97 accord
That’s understandable. I’m pretty particular with my wiring and I’d rather do it myself. Each shop that I’ve had work on my previous cars didn’t do it right and I had issues.
Can you still adjust the time with this on the top screen?
Should be able to. I only had that setup for a short time. I don’t remember honestly.
what state are you located in.. ill drive to you so you can do my car .. your work is very tidy
Thank you. I live in North Carolina. I just do it as a hobby though. Work only on my equipment, close friend and family.
What did u just do on this vide ?😕
I wish someone could do mine
Atleast the back up cam works mines doesnt help lol
Yea mines doesn’t either did you find a solution?
I ground my green wire so my car don’t have to be in park two watch movies or videos
Depends on the headunit. That doesn’t work with Alpine units.
Honda is a piece of shit making it so difficult to change out the factory stereo never had these problems with the crown vic
I think that’s how most new vehicles are now. I miss the days of just getting a cheap dash kit and sliding in the new radio. There’s so much extra electronics involved with new cars.
@@AyyJayy02 lol that's also why new cars usually have so many electronic problems, just computers being computers 😂
Lol also your crown vic is not a 2014 accord with a lot of bells and some whistles so…
Too much work....
