In continuation of my "Short Takes" video series at All City Auto, I give a tour of a 1984 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I'm 16 and my dream car was an el camino. I looked for one for forever and one day we saw one for sale. It was a 1978 ss. No rust whatsoever and they wanted 4,000. My dad got it for 3,500 cash. The deal with my dad was he bought the car and I bought the parts and new paint job. We love the car. I can officially say that I drive the most unique car to school.

I own an 86 El Camino with a 402 big block! People wanted me to get a chevelle, charger, Nova, mustang ect.. I said no an El Camino is to cool to pass up. Man I love them!!

Mine has a 327 from a 1968 car, blue interior and matt black exterior. Probably going to change the interior over to red in the future.

That really is a flawless paint job. Just look how the clear coat shines! Exhaust sounds great too! Plus those old carbeurated Chevy v8s are good engines. I pick this and the 88 and 99 Mercedes' you showed as my favorites from this short takes series.

The fullpaint no chrome styling makes last gen visually very compact + the allroad groud clearance with chunky wheels are right on the money!

Living in Anchorage Alaska had 3 El caminos an 78 my gradation vehicle was a 81 and had a 82!
Great start.
-Needs to be dropped two inches.
-The 5.0L/305cid needs to be swapped out.
-The TH350 would eventually end up getting swapped, more than likely.

@igord16 Still looks better and is more reliable than any car your country has produced. Also this car was built back in 1984 and it's still running great.
Lower it 2.5" inches,get 0.5" bigger exhausts, and supercharge this and it would be a beast.
The 305ci needs to be a boat anchor... 350 or bigger and your straight.
Lets hope you never get your hands on one of these then

Saw smoke out of the left exhaust, not a red flag but made me wonder. Piston rings? Or a valve/ valve spring issue?
@mofragginah I wish I could but, I only work part time and I go to college full-time. There was a I believe an 86 or 87 for sale in Haverhill where I live but there are some minor imperfections like a hale sized dent underneath the driver's side door and the A/C does not work either but, overall in great shape.

My dad and my uncle are trying to fix the engine of this vehicle so does the motor this truck is badass. But the one we're actually fixing is the red one with circle rims the vehicle also does not include tachometer which means we're going to install one. This one is way more badass she looks like a American muscle badass el Camino

i remember there was a rumor that supposedly they were going to bring the holden utes from australia and rebadge it as an el camino. imagine if that actually happened.
The car has air in the tires a fender mounted antenna,seat belts,new muffler bearings and fresh metric lights,buy it now and the paint is included with the car.HAHA! I have an original 87 SS.

I like your video's but I always feel you move the camera around to fast when you show the dealership and parking lot you're at. Maybe you can take a little more time so it doesn't feel like "oh I need a quick shot about this, aaaannd... done!"?

wrong the Conquista was actually a trim package for the El Camino, kinda like the SS package. The Caballero was the GMC model.

I had an 80.. put a built 350 engine in it from a 71 elco.. 4 speed.. hugger orange.. lady T boned it almost a year ago.. I'm gonna get another one with a 401k loan ina couple years..

What kind of Exhaust is that running?
You really don`t know much about cars. That`s a Tic-Toc-Tach, 60/40 split bench seat, power windows, door locks, and remote mirror(manual mirrors have to be adjusted by reaching out the window). Raised hood? You mean Cowl induction hood scoop, or you could just say hood scoop. How about the performance intake manifold? Bed coating not bed liner (bed liners are plastic). According to the tachometer that "running just as strong as ever" engine is running at 500 RPM`s to high. Which makes many wonder why it`s not running at a proper idle, It`s a way to hide other problems.
