So you’re telling me… these are like Swedish tortillas?! Excellent. A few years back I learned I’m both Mexican AND Scandinavian so this makes me very happy. Haha.
This together with pickled herring and potatoes are one of my favourite simple foods to eat. Never made the bread myself though so was very cool to see the process of how they used to make it!
So most of my life, we've had the rolling pins for this in my house. I've just now learned their use, we've kept them after finding them on the side of the road like "maybe one day we will knkw their hse" xD
My mother had a bakstuga/baking house in Jämtland and we often baked in an electric stove but she never made flatbread after she left that house. I guess it is quite impossible in a normal stove? Where can I buy such a bread brush / tunnbrödsborste?
This makes me cry. Such wonderful cultural and familial tradition from all over the place. I love learning about these kind of things.
Andrew Tozier I was thinking the same thing. Made me want to cry too
just love Magnus Nilsson's way of presenting and explaining he is so inspiring
This is one of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Love not only the tradition but the story telling of their regional recipe of Knäckebröd. BIG THUMBS UP!
not knäckebröd, tunnbröd

Magnus is my spirit animal
Using flour instead of a towel or plastic wrap to cover the dough while it's rising is a good trick. Magnus rules.
I never wanted that video to end!
I thought 'Oh cool, flatbread by Magnus! I'll have a go at making that' *plays video* 'Nope, I've not got a weird bread canoe...'
Wow, amazing !!
And then it should be butter and messmör on it. A very underrated combo I would say.
