  • So pleased with the new look on existing linen trousers - compliments on the first wear!
Easy to do and an attractive way to shorten trousers or skirts with "drapey" fabric. Or sleeves, or coats. The choice is endless and it's a fast and fun running stitch with 3 strands of embroidery thread.
The only thing you have to remember is that folding and stitching fabric makes it a bit stiffer - so experiment before you commit.

Hello, many thanks for all the informative videos. I have much love for all the topics addressed. In fact, I’ve watched all the videos one Sunday afternoon when I discovered your channel. Would you also use this stitch on a denim trouser? Thank you.

Hello Sah, thank you for this lovely feedback. If you want to hem Denim you can use this stitch and fold the hem up the inside leg. Unless the jeans are very wide legged it is possible that this exact method may make the hem very firm and stick out rather than drape at all. Herringbone is best is you want to turn up jeans but not see the stitching. Backstitch is good if you have a thick thread and want to see the stitching on the face of the jeans. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for the reply. I would like to retain the original design where the stitch is showing. It’s rather thick too. So I would try back stitching. And I will be happy if I could do even half as well as you do it :) A beautiful rest of the day to you and looking forward for your next video.
