    I just wanted to say thanks for posting this series; really useful and well put together videos! I'll be doing my own full service this week and your videos have been a great reminder of what goes where on these bikes; and that's having attended a Clive Wood course previously and watched him work on my bike a few times! Cheers!

    Another tip: Make sure you catch that sump plug nut before it blocks the drip tray hole.
    Or you'll find yourself spending the next 3 hours mopping up oil from the floor of your garage.

    I learned recently that just because the fully synthetic oil has the right spec, they're not all created equal. I put Smith & Allen fully syn in my Harley and the motor sounded terrible. Got rid of it and smooth service resumed. I guess if the base stock is poor, that'll make a difference.

    Thanks for the great videos. I was alway tought to add some oil to the new oil filter before fitting. Not sure how long that takes for to fill up first time when starting the bike. I was surprised at how much oil it took to saturate the paper in the filter, and then some more oil while holding the filter horizontally. I just do it for piece of mind.

And i always do the service by myself when i am out of warranty or find some helpful explaining videos! I hope you make another series maybe valve clearance or adjustment. Do you use a explained service manual ..?

    Hey I've got a 2013 street triple too and noticed you had the same tires mine came with any reason you chose the bridgestone battleax tires I just upgraded to some Q3+ tires for the rear and still have the battleax in the front. Just curious if these tires were known to perform well on this bike or just a coincidence.

      Hi thanks for watching. My street came with pirelli diablo rossos (from memory) and I found that they were excellent on a dry sunny day but absolutely shocking on colder wet days I went for better all round tyre that would give better performance and confidence for those damp and colder days. I found them great and have had them on a few bikes now they are normally my tyre of choice.

    I have a 2011 triumph street hot it cuts out what can it be

    • @TheSussexBiker
      @TheSussexBiker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there could many reasons. I would start with checking for fault codes, bad connections / wiring round the head stock/forks etc. When it cuts out does it restart or does it have to cool down? If so it could be a bad sensor. If it does stay in the non start condition you may be able to do some fault finding ie have you got spark? Fuel pump run / pressure. Its hard with out being hands on and physically looking at it. Good luck hope you get it sorted.

    FYI, you should double check the service manual, as for earlier 675cc Street Triples, Triumph's service manual calls for the bike to be on it's side stand when you drain the oil. Also, grab a torque wrench if you're going to be showing people how to do this right man! lol here's how I do it: th-cam.com/video/fmJ1wzj82CQ/w-d-xo.html

    • @TheSussexBiker
      @TheSussexBiker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comments, I will have to check the manual, don't no what you mean about the torque wrench, painfully I just had to re watch this video and I used one on the sump plug? unless your on about the oil filter in which case yes there is a torque figure but having fitted 1000's of oil filters in my life I'm comfortable doing them by 'feel' ymmv

    • @TheSussexBiker
      @TheSussexBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes and no. Firstly the engine oil being overfilled is wrong and you should drain off the excess, the engines can consume oil in between oil changes personally I think it can vary due to how the engine has been run /broken in.
