I woke up from a wet and rainy camp to head over to York Knife HQ to finish off the bushcraft knife build raring to go.
We surface ground the heat treated blank, ground the bevels in the 2x72” grinder, fixed the scales on to the tang with epoxy and loveless bolts, shaped the scales to the tang, sculpted the wooden handles, hand sanded the handle, laser tattooed the logos on with the 50watt fibre laser and then built the kydex sheath.
A lot of work takes place to make such a beast but Luke was a fantastic instructor!🤙🏻🔥 Thank you Luke for direction helping me make such a beautiful tool for camp.

I had low expectations, but this turned out to be an amazing knife, from the ABL steel, the cryo treat, stabilized wood, etc.! Most TH-cam campers don't seem to know a thing about knives. As a knife enthusiast, this was awesome! I would pay 4 or 5 hundred dollars for one of these.

Really interesting watching the process and appreciating the amount of skill, time and care that goes into making unique pieces like this. As a keen woodturner I loved the use of spalted wood and contrasting colour used for the handle. All credit to Luke for his passion and the commitment he must have put in to teaching himself the skills needed and the pride he takes in each knife he makes. It was good to see him trusting, guiding and handing over the reins to you too, so that you could experience the enjoyment and sense of achievement in creating something so beautiful, from such raw ingredients. It must give you a true attachment to the knife for sure. Now enjoy using it and the memories you create 😁

Beautiful blade! You should be very proud, I’m a knife person, I watch knives being made almost every day, so I really enjoyed the time in the blade shop, I learned a lot from that guy, sorry I forgot his name, anyway keep up the great videos.
