As a fellow DFW native whose fondest memories of childhood were watching KERA and many other DFW TV stations, I thank you in advance. I kind of grew up with these bumpers.
Too bad we can't see that rare Arthur funding (That is, unless you could upload it without sound and explain in the description what you remember hearing at the time)
Well, I guess it's still worth an upload, considering how rare this particular funding is, and regardless of the lack of sound. :) Otherwise, thanks for providing all of the other PBS videos you have :D
I think one thing that helps is that, at higher resolutions, TH-cam has a higher bitrate cap. This is why videos that are natively 480p still look better at 720p on TH-cam. VHS rips, sadly, often suffer really badly to video compression; the analog noise does NOT play well with regular video compression. Add it to the fact that VHS never looks that good to begin with, and you have a major reason most VHS rips on TH-cam look mediocre. Upscaling it to 720p can help alleviate some of that, and I'll bet it probably looks even better if you upscale it to 1080p, but I certainly don't have that kind of patience.
Do I have any old KNCT stuff? No, sorry, I do not. I've only recently started recording from there, I never lived there when I was a kid so I never even had access to it. However, if you're interested, Scott Wild (on this site) has a small handful of stuff from a long while ago from KNCT. If you're interested though, I've got some recent KNCT stuff that I'd be more than happy to upload...although to be honest, most of their content is super low-effort so trust me when I say you're really not missing much.
+VaultHS Oh. Now i am ore intriged to watch them. Hey, at least it probably is not as lazy as NJTV PBS Kids station ident are (no that is not a punctuation error. You would get it of you watched PBS Kids program breaks from NJTV. Now I miss NJN even more).

KERA had a You're watching KERA with the This Is PBS music and theme that you saw at 3:54.
this was 90s television straight from Dallas/Fort Worth to our TV screens.
4:16 KERA Channel 13!! Yep, I know. I'm born in October 27 2013.
oh man i'm remembering things i haven't thought about in almost twenty years
when I was little I used to watch the comfy couch and Barney Mr Rogers neighbors now I grown now I am 29 now
4:00 who ever has vhs tapes that have the pbs long surprise ident? Not many! There should be more
My favorite "This Is PBS" at 3:54.
At 0:00, it was recorded after "The Big Comfy Couch," and before a television program of some kind. What was it?
SURPRISE PARTY!!! GO TO 4:07 AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! :D

The fact is I
It's rather hard to find PBS recordings from Boston - I only have one from 1989. I wonder why?
4:10 Haha, even if it's kinda scary it's classic!!!
Trust me, it scared me when I was little. Now I just watch it because its cool!!!!
Uhm, Why not? :D
It's me, Autumn Green!
Is this from a season 1 or season 2 big comfy couch episode?

I can upload the video, but otherwise...yeah, I'm as happy about it as you are.

I'm pretty sure that all Arthur fundings are found. :)
4:05 wait that's not fair how come the surprise ident came after the 1993 pbs, logo that's not cool at all I'd wait until one of their promos is over
Probably because the 1993 logo is appended to the Newton's Apple feature rather than being its own standalone thing.
The Newton's Apple intro from 1996 just screams mid-90s!
I think the surprise ident is technically not really a station ident
How do u get such amazing video quality?

VaultHS I remember the Newton's apple short. The intro alone is enough to give someone seizures.

we are here to help you
I'm not sure I even have ANYTHING from 1996 or earlier, sadly...
What I have uploaded of classic PBS is literally all I have. Sorry.
