    Over lockdown in the UK, I've just spent hours dribbling round and round the washing line in my garden and imaging different scenarios to bypass or avoid the 'defender.' Within weeks, I've gone from being the fast guy who can't dribble to the fast guy who can cut and turn on both feet and manipulate the ball in multiple directions. It helps I'm interested in tactics and analyzing players (Ødegaard and Dybala a lot as well as street panna for variations in styles and techniques) but nothing beats intentionality and consistency in practice with the ball at your feet.

    You should do a podcast on your high school soccer years. Like how did you train, how you should be training/working out, what you which you did, and how to set yourself up to play college soccer. This would be super beneficial to middle school and underclass high school players.

    Omg I do the same thing as my ritual I always like putting my leg sock and boot and tie up my left side first then my right side, idk why but I feel like it’s gonna make my left foot better 😭

    Guys help me out, how do I loose body fat and gain muscle as a soccer player?

      Its difficult to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. Ideally you would have a caloric deficit to lose fat, and a caloric surplus to gain muscle. These, obviously will need to happen at different times. Also, try researching how much of your macros to consume for cutting/bulking. Choose one to start, reach your goal, then follow up with the other.

      Eat 150 grams protein a Day and be in a 250 calorie deficit.

    Do you recommend using whey protein powder for teens from 14-17 I see people say it’s bad for teens but don’t know because sometimes woth the diet plan and food I get isn’t enough protein etc

      I would try a vegan protein. I use the brand Vega Sport Protein and they have a bunch of different flavors. They have chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter, mocha, and berry. It doesn't even taste like a normal protein powder its amazing!!

      Soccer Legend I’ll check it out man thanks 👍🏽is just not sure about it I don’t want anything to effect my performance but sometimes I can’t get the supplements from what I eat so I need the protein powder

      It's pretty well researched I think if you think it will benefit you then get it but it is not really necessary.

      No usl 2 is not a pro league. It's mainly college players in their off-season. More of a "pro development league". Matt played their with San Jose u-23 during his college days

    Hey Matt I’m a person who likes to get stuff done as quick as possible and I was wondering if I should do a training session and a workout on the same day with a rest day in between or am I not getting the best benefits out of doing it like Monday- training Tuesday-Workout? Love from Ireland

      I don’t see why you can’t train and workout in the same day. I usually have like 4 double days a week (my body recovers really well) but between your training sessions you should rehydrate and eat something

      I agree, it's possible to workout and train in the same day. I've personally being doing double days involving workouts and training and aswell as triple days with training workouts and fitness. At the end of the day just listen to your body and don't focus to much on what you can and can't do just see how you feel.

      Same I do double days Monday to Friday and a recovery workout on Saturday (swimming or bike riding) and it works well. Plus if your doing ball work 3 times a week think how much more improvement you would have if you could manage to do it 5 or 6 times a week

      I’m sure, if Matt replies he will say “ the most important thing is to listen to your body”. If one session a day is what you can manage right now stick with it. If you think you can add more, try it.

      Man cocoa is good it's all natural and there's nothing wrong with having a chocolate once in a while.. Chocolate can be a stress reliever, happiness provider etc.. It becomes bad when you can't control how much you are eating it same as any other.. What is not good is industrial chocolates with a bunch of sugars and man made craps in itself ..
      - a little dark chocolate might boost oxygen availability during training.
      Matt is giving us all of these key informations have some respect for the man, he has to live from this
      The add was 2 minutes long and the podcast is an hour long bro
