      This is me right now. How I’m feeling in this exact moment in time.
      My cup is overflowing 😅
      I didn’t realize I was such a visual learner. But here is the thing doc…I seem to have stumbled upon this by complete accident. Which is what brought me to your video.
      Mind you I am not the most smartest person I know. Even though my ego tells me differently.
      I’m quite humbled because of my circumstances.
      Ontop I have severe ADHD all my life… or it’s just another by oroduct from head trauma from when I was an infant. anyhow regardless I can explain myself another time.
      I’ve seen these in doctors offices before. and if not for accidental dropping it and hearing i just a few moments ago I very well would absolutely never would have experimented with the vibration it created. As soon as i touched it on my body I knew I was into something and having a hunch is one thing. But how did I know some of the things you spoke of without ever learning it.?? Subconsciously? Ok maybe some of it but not at this level!
      I feel tho as if I were a chimpanzee that had an apple fall on my head instead of Newton that’s how I feel right now. To add I have a bad problem retaining information. I forget most of what I learn in a day. So if I’m not making sense trust me I am trying to while maintaining this train of thought. Im speaking in real time in the desperate hopesis hearing this before it’s too late. I tire of not contributing. How many times have I woken up to a messy board, filled with things i don’t remember.
      I’ve been keeping some journals apparently and a lot of it’s been incoherent up until now.
      (I believe I’ve made an error. And hastily tried another attempt but in doing so causing more harm so I’m going to step away. Be mindful if you have to sort some of this. I have keys and legends in my entries that may make more sense to some else right now. End edit)I may only have a few hours. . I am now recording myself as I finish thisjust in case I wake up oblivious maybe some can be salvaged.
      like that it carried a consistent frequency, hertz)again I thought I knew some basic facts but of what I supposedly knew, but the visualization it added multi layers of understanding and somehow even carried over to other areas of things I thought I knew and unlocked their true selves to me… have mathematical equations spilling out of my head right now. Doctor im a 46 year old male with head trauma when I was an infant. I’m smart for someone in my predicament and I always knew there was much more but I feel like a rip tide just sucked me in.
      Can I apply this to other areas of science? Im only asking because this revaluation may be over exaggerated and a result of my brains chemistry…I could accept that. Quite modestly and satisfactory come to the conclusion if not I am trying to fit a square into a circle hole.
      But if I’m right!! I may need to talk to someone that may be interested in the things I have to say. Particularly a very big misunderstanding in ways the majority of the world has seemed to have accepted in their understandings.
      Even I feel like I’m still missing part of the equation. About as drastic as a freshman would be looking at a senior and trying to fill in 4 years of experience with his imagination, and actually settling on that assumption.
      I guess I will wait for a response.

    I was gifted a set of madly oversized tuning forks the person said was for some type of "energy alignment" I dont think that's how they work lol but the very powerful vibrations did relax muscles and cause a general sense of relaxation like you fell into instant meditation. It was fantastic to learn just now however what theyre supposed to be used for. As always thanks Dr. Gill

    What’s the significance of using 512 Hz and 128 Hz? Would other vibration frequencies yield different results/why?

    • @DrJamesGill
      @DrJamesGill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Because of how they are used on different body parts and the sensitivity
      512hz is a very “fine” vibration, whereas 128hz Is quite coarse might be a better way of viewing it

    I have a question! I'm having a hard time finding the answer for it.
    There was one neurologist I went to who used a tuning fork in his examination. When he put the vibrating fork up to my head, it caused this really intense shaking/tremor/vibration on my entire head. I wanna say it made my neck do the weird thing that happens when something cold touches the back of it. Why did it do that? ?.? The neurologist didn't seem to know - at least, he didn't explain it to me.

    • @DrJamesGill
      @DrJamesGill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I don’t understand
      The numbers are the vibration frequencies

    • @markpedersen9506
      @markpedersen9506 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I did some digging on Wikipedia, the short answer (assuming I understand correctly) is that those frequencies are chosen so that the fork produces a correctly tuned note. If we went by base ten you'd likely get weird out of tune noises, that probably would sound unpleasant. The long answer is:
      Commercial tuning forks are tuned to the correct pitch at the factory, and the pitch and frequency in hertz is stamped on them. They can be retuned by filing material off the prongs. Filing the ends of the prongs raises the pitch, while filing the inside of the base of the prongs lowers it.
      Currently, the most common tuning fork sounds the note of A = 440 Hz, the standard concert pitch that many orchestras use. That A is the pitch of the violin's second string, the first string of the viola, and an octave above the first string of the cello. Orchestras between 1750 and 1820 mostly used A = 423.5 Hz, though there were many forks and many slightly different pitches.[5] Standard tuning forks are available that vibrate at all the pitches within the central octave of the piano, and also other pitches.

    Hey Doc, quick question: Do you think ASMR has any medical benefits?

    • @DrJamesGill
      @DrJamesGill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      That’s a huge question
      Especially as the research is in it’s infancy
      The shorter answer - anything that helps anxiety, improves sleep, or helps someone relax in a safe manner has to be useful
      I know patients who state certain medical treatments don’t work for them - putting the prescribed management to the side for a moment - belief in a treatment, the placebo effect is ~20%, so if someone DOES believe something works and has no harm to them, we should embrace it

    • @DrJamesGill
      @DrJamesGill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I can’t stress this enough, patients have said they can’t take X and instead have purchased Y. If it isn’t clinically validated, I’m always concerned patients are being fleeced, and highlight this - BUT if it helps them - all power to the patient
      Conversely if the same patients has purchased the same product, even if they fee is helps them, but I have evidence highlighting negative health effects of that product, I WONT support and and attempt to highlight the risks
      People should make their own decisions, but my role is to help them make their best decisions
