- This was a WILD run! Amy is actually so good in this game! I had so much fun in this Sonic Adventure DX Challenge, I hope you guys did too!

Amy whacks Tails in the cutscene because the cutscenes in this game are built like RPG Maker ones and the characters are just controlled in real time. Normally, Sonic does a spin dash but since it's Amy there, she also does her B action, which is hammer

When I Slowed Down The Clip, It Looked Like Tails Got Hit Not From Amy Whacking Him, But By Making Contact With Eggman
This shows that if Amy were a little faster she could pass Sonic's levels without a problem
Her speed is fine, we found ways around every speed releated obstacle. Literally the only thing she needs is the ability to use those numbered jump pads and she could do the whole game
Amy Adventure 1 really did age like fine wine.
That looks really painful, but also really fun. Shame that Amy only has three levels, two of which focusing primarily on baby puzzles instead of her fun and unique movement.
I wouldnt call it painful, it was alot of fun, even the hard parts. Now the Big the Cat run, THAT was painful.
I agree too, I liked the concept of being chased by an enemy you cant defeat in her levels, but I would have loved to see them use her movement and abilities more. Shes alot of fun to use.

tbf of her levels I would only really say Hot Shelter focused primarily on puzzles.
But yeah only three levels is a huge shame. How the fuck did she get the least in the game?
3:39 it’s funnier because the piko piko hammer isn’t even shown, so it looks like Amy is just punching the ground, and somehow hit tails with I guess the force of the punch.

I think Amy is quite underrated in SA1. Her own story has a lot of hub world stuff which is slow but her action stages are generally pretty decent and there's a lot of sections of Sonic's story that seems like it was almost made for Amy like the final section of Speed Highway, Red Mountain, the 2nd half of Lost World (minus the light dash sections even if it is possible to skip). Great video, was really interesting to see these levels destroyed by Amy
Shes so much fun in SA1 compared to SA2. I only wish the levels she has focused more on her unique moves and platforming instead of puzzles and stealth that breaks up the flow too much. Playing sonic's levels as her though was probably the most fun I've had in this game in a long time
@@EpicDuskk Yeah when the puzzles are as simple as "Hit the switches", "turn the handle to open the door", "place these coloured blocks in the right coloured holes" or "Find the right door by randomly looking in all of them until you find the right one" it's really not very engaging.
I think the mirror section in Twinkle Park is the only section that gets the puzzle solving/spooky element of Amy's gameplay right. Needing to figure out which Amy is the right one in the mirrors or seeing where the trapdoors are by looking in the mirror in the final mirror section.

While I'm disappointed that the ONE section in Windy Valley is impossible, I'm quite surprised that the rest of Sonic's story is infact possible!
I wish we could've gotten more levels with Amy as her moveset is quite unique compared to the other characters.

Considering how Amy can do Sonic's work for him, I'm surprised Sonic isn't actually sorta liking Amy. (In JP, Sonic actually has a small relationship with Amy, but is too embarrassed to express. But in America, it fell under the "Too cool" treatment. That's why Sonic is scared of Amy in America and Europe.)

You should try beating Amy and Gamma's version of Hot Shelter, since it's the only level that Sonic doesn't go through.

I already scheduled a TH-cam stream for Monday with Gamma, but Knuckles will be next. I'll try to do something with tails too, it would be a shame to leave him out. Idk about a speedrun, but maybe just showing off all the interesting ways he can break levels maybe.

I stand by my hot take that she is the 3rd most fun to control chatacter, after Sonic and Knuckles. Her level design doesnt do her movement justice!

I dont think thats a hot take at all, everyone I talk to agrees SA1 Amy is alot of fun and her levels dont let her utilize her moves more.
I havent tried that one yet but im sure I will!

Yeah, I really tried figuring something out for the tornado. Still a really fun run though, I honestly never expect these to be possible, its just interesting to see how far we can get, and how creative we can be in some of the levels.
I've seem someone else do a gamma run before and bro almost lost his mind it was so obtuse difficult. His timer mechanism applies no matter what level you're playing on and he can't target any of the bosses with his gun. Lots of game breaking crashes too. Do it.
We just did this run, i'm editing the video soon. We actually found a few bosses we could beat that people in the live chat said nobody else figured out so im excited to show off the crazy stuff

Wait, you’ve never seen that area under the Spinners in Red Mountain? The ramp is visible from the ledge where you start the homing attack. Not a dig, I was just surprised cos I’ve known about it for a very long time and thought everyone else would’ve as well.

Seeing as this mod basically uses Amy's moveset from Sonic Advance 1, it's strange that it doesn't include her spindash "replacement" from that game, the Big Step I think it was called. It might've helped on the whale section.
Amy is already a character in this game, the mod just puts her in Sonic's levels. Her moveset is from this game.
Theres probably other mods that would help her in the difficult parts, but the goal of this video was to see if she could beat them on her own.
@@EpicDuskk That's what I get for playing 10+ hours of Sonic Advance and only 10 minutes of Sonic Adventure, I suppose. It was just too clunky to go back to after all the time I'd sunk into Sonic Adventure 2.
I really do like this Amy moveset though, so many years cheesing every level by flying over it with Tails or climbing over it with Knuckles made her (slightly) more technical movement feel like a breath of fresh air. And then Sonic Advance 2 came out and (IIRC) just gave her a regular old spindash and kinda ruined it.

Nah I didn't know of them till now. I just like Sonic Adventure and wanted interesting concepts for videos. I'm aware other people have done challenges like these though!

Baja blast is in between cyan and green. The light blue car is near pure cyan. Your fiancé is correct.
My vote is light green. To be fair I think it’s more between both but I think of it more of a sea green color so I have to vote light green.
Yeah the liquid itself is light green, but the can/bottle is always light blue so thats the color I associated it with lol.

I feel like at that point that just makes her sonic, but with a hammer. I think the fun of these challenges is seeing if the vanilla characters can beat the levels using creative ways to get past obstacles made for other characters.
I'm sure that mod exists though, id be surprised if it didnt.

On their own probably not, but thats something ill eventually attempt! There are mods that give them super forms as well too

I dont do the other storys because I like to do these challenges all in one stream, and sonics story takes about 6 hours factoring in all the time we spend figuring stuff out and testing things.
The other levels are either too similar like Tail's story, or they use mechanics like big's fishing that aren't possible with any other character. I may try to include some other levels in future videos if they end up being interesting enough, or make them their own seperate videos just to have some shorter videos for the people who prefer that.
