"You look like superman" then they move on, because Clark's persona change is what makes the glasses work, not the other way around. The glasses are just the icing on the cake when it comes to his secret identity. And about Detective Chimp. Silly idea, but he's awesome. Usually turns up for christmas specials or other special issues. Always great when he teams up with Batman. Shouldn't work at all, but Chimp is always an absolute joy to read. I'd love to see a Matt Reeves detective chimp movie. Maybe he can team up with Pattinson's Batman for a post-credit scene or something a few movies down the line.

Why couldn’t we have had a stand-alone Batman film with the look and feel of the first Batman scene? Just him solving a crime and fighting bad guys in Gotham by night? That’s all you have to do, but no movie director/studio seems to understand the basic formula.
I guess Jay was just going with what the consensus was back then on how this cut of the film was made but now we know that Zack Snyder's content was radically changed the moment he had to step away from the project. Warner Bros. Got cold feet and exploited Synder's absence to inject a bit of marvel magic into the film which was worse than just doing the film the way Zach wanted it.

Wasn't Joss Whedon coming on to help with reshoots that Snyder had already planned? Not a joke quota. And then they just ended up extending the reshoots from 2 weeks to a couple months. I may be wrong though.
"Joke quota" says to me that Joss was brought on to change the script, versus just directing.
In the Snyder's Cut, Cyborg has a 5 minutes long monologue where he voices over to himself what his powers are, and it's exactly like one of Neil Breen's monologue explaining he's a suepr hacker who can instantly bessome a millionaire or makes entire government crumble. It's that embarasing.
His father, Silas, did the monologue, via tape recording, clueless.

They also made the Germans the bad guys, and had villains so over the top they could have been from any WW2 serial. It was so obvious they changed her origin to WW1 instead of 2 to distance her from Captain America :p

Why couldn’t we have had a stand-alone Batman film with the look and feel of the first Batman scene? Just him solving a crime and fighting bad guys in Gotham by night? That’s all you have to do, but no movie director/studio seems to understand the basic formula.

I guess Jay was just going with what the consensus was back then on how this cut of the film was made but now we know that Zack Snyder's content was radically changed the moment he had to step away from the project.
Warner Bros. Got cold feet and exploited Synder's absence to inject a bit of marvel magic into the film which was worse than just doing the film the way Zach wanted it.
Zach's version still sucked tho so I think the entire project started on the wrong foot
