Demond Wilson has a deep perspective of life & an incredible eloquence in sharing his career. I loved this very, very much & as a child of the 70's I watched Sanford & Son often and later in reruns throughout the 80's. Second banana to Redd Foxx which he embraced knowing how intrical his role would become. You can see the loving heart he possesses & his love & devotion to Foxx. Thanks so much for the Podcast sir & many, many wonderful memories of Demond's portrayal of Lamont Sanford! To this day that show is highly quotable, progressive & truly unforgettable!

One thing about older folk, they don't tell you what they heard, they tell you what they know. He's right about people staying married. I grew up with Mexican families, white Croatian families, Italian, Filipino families, and black. Mom and dad were right there bless their souls. Maybe a widow here or there, but generally, 2 parents. Demond brought back a lot of memories and pictures in my mind of my neighborhood.

Great interview Bro. Henry. I absolutely love your respectful kind manners as you were interviewing Mr. Demond Wilson. I also love the way you kindly listened and allowed him to speak. I liked the natural flow of the questions and dialogue. I can tell that the way you interacted with Mr. Wilson your interest and goal was to find out about him as a person. It was refreshing to see how relaxed and comfortable Mr. Wilson is with this interview.. ❤ . Your goal was not to get his opinion on the drama in Hollywood. Which to me shows that your admiration and genuine interest in him was not based on the number of views or likes.. Bro. Henry thank you for your mature insightful interview.. Keep up the good work. I look forward to viewing more interviews from your show.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️….⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩. 😍😍😍😍😍😁

@@morenotheartist and that's fine but he's notoriously rude and condescending in most interviews. He was kinder to this man because he is aware he shares his views on the Christian faith. He has many interviews on TH-cam and he's a not a nice man.

    • @Kyohan137

Mr. Wilson doesn’t like interviewers who attempt to draw gossip or try to get him to disparage other people and as he has stated he reads the energy of people he engages with so if they come at him with loaded questions or are unprepared he doesn’t have any patience for it. Compare this interviewer with the one from comedy hype and the reason for the different attitude is very clear.

Maaan Demond is a great interview. The man is dropping wisdom wherever he goes. He’s right. As far as home life and two parent households yes that was the norm not all that long ago in “black culture” if you wanna say. Most all my heroes growing up, mostly athletes Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kirby Puckett, Eddie Murphy and Demond were from strong two parent households. Which gave them the tools to achieve greatness.

    • @chrisclements4676
      @chrisclements4676 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Excellent point regarding two-parent households. I’m 51….I can recall when it was an insult to say….”that’s why you ain’t got no daddy!”😆 Today, however, fatherless homes are so prevalent amongst black families, it’s no longer insulting. Sadly, it’s an accepted norm.

Demond Wilson is one of my most favorite actors of all times! I was born in the late 1940s myself and MARRIAGE was the norm! My husband and I had 2 children and we had every intention of staying together, but my sweetie died in 1989 from a massive coronary, and I became a widow! By the grace and help of Jesus Christ I raised our son and daughter who are now middle aged and THEY are both saved and are MARRIED, Praise God Almighty!!!

I heard the opposite !! He was responsible for getting jobs for others, listen to the Della Reese interview, listen to the woman who played Aunt Esther, he also played a part in shaping Eddie Murphy's career, that's why Eddie looked after RED in the end...RED not only helped many find jobs he was also a very generous man which was his weakness, that's why he ended up with no money apparently, he lived a lavish life n making ppl happy that he overspent, he says it in one of his shows that we live once n we should live happy...only he should have paid his taxes..

Bro Henry thank you for a great interview. Being a huge SAS fan I thoroughly enjoyed Demond Wilson. I remember hearing about his call to the ministry and that he was doing it full time. I’m a word guy as well and love studying Gods word. I answered the call in 1982 one year before Demond. I enjoyed hearing him speak and talk about the word. I believe Demond knows my cousin Lamonte McLemore of the fifth Dimension if you interview him again please ask. Thanks again my brother.

I so much enjoyed this interview, I don’t follow or keep up with Hollywood stars past or present. This is a refreshing update on one of my favorite actors. However, I do not appreciate the women bashing part of the interview. There was not a mention of how a lot of men these days are out there taking advantage of women. Or how a lot of them would rather stay home and play video games in their underwear instead of working a job. I once heard a famous Hollywood/Atlanta star say if only a man can afford is the energy bill in the said woman’s house, a woman should marry him and have him move in. If a grown, marriage age man only has $200-300 a month to spare for energy bill, maybe he should be looking for a job not a wife. Mr. Wilson talked about spoiling his wife, a lot of men out there wants the reverse. And on single mothers saying they don’t want a man, of which I am proud to be to 3 adult children, that is mostly not true. if a woman loses her husband, then decided to stay single and focus on her children there’s nothing wrong with that. Some women out there prey on single mothers, some would even molest or abuse the children! If a woman says she doesn’t need a man after a couple of “no goods” men, I don’t think men like that should be bashed. A woman who lost her husband did not willingly decide to be a single parent. That’s just my POV.

(3:38) I've watched several interviews online with Mr. Wilson and every time he mentions his wife the video editor inserts a picture
of Mr. Wilson and Denise Nicholas, an actress from the 1978 tv show "Baby I'm Back".
*DENISE NICHOLAS IS NOT HIS ACTUAL WIFE.*

I dig this interview along with another he did on The Write Stuff. He comes off very respectable and decent in these. The others I have seen, he comes off like an arrogant asshole not only because the interviewers didn't do their research on him before having him on but because they expected him to be more like Lamont Sanford, a fictious character that he portrayed. You can't talk to him about the Hollywood foolishness that these other interviewers do on several outlets. He received his calling to preach and he's old school so a person like him you have to come correct. I used to interview people on radio and you must do your homework on that person. Otherwise, you will make an ass out of yourself and they will let you know it to the world. Another thing I want to point is that the interviewer stays engaged and lets Demond finish what he is saying while cutting or jumping in, unlike Comedy Hype. That was an embarassment.

He seems pretty happy and content with his current life. When you (not you per se) truly accept Christ you are content. Also, he did say that he didn’t associate with the Hollywood cliques and parties.

I used to think he was down and out, so to speak. I grew up in the Sanford and Son era and observed numerous artists of that time who fell on hard times, either because they weren’t paid their fair share or because they squandered their money, not investing it, usually due to not knowing about investing.

Yah-weh is the sound of the bronchial breath under a stethoscope. We say his name everytime we inhale and exhale. Do not take the Lord's name in vane. The breath of life is God's name. ❤
When you wake and yawn you clearly hear the name. Yah-inhale, weh-exhale.
