Memphis is their only real competition but they should know Ja wouldn’t stay either and he’s a free agent only 2 years later. The thing to me is that I don’t think the Bucks will do that. I think they’ll try their best to keep him all the way until free agency. That opens the door to teams like Brooklyn or the Knicks. I don’t think Giannis would go to the Lakers cause he really doesn’t fit their team and he’s not going to leave one old team in the Bucks to go to another old team in Golden State. I’d love to see Giannis and Steph play together but I think he wants a younger team who fits his timeline better. The best options in my opinion are OKC, Brooklyn, and Memphis in that situation. They all also have decent to really good draft picks stocked up with young talent and would have an easy time clearing cap space. Those three are super obvious to me and if he also wants a bigger market, that’s Brooklyn.

@@Error-zg4pothe Warriors are going to flip CP3 the same way they did DLo. Klay will make less money in 2 years. Dunleavy can give the Bucks TJD, GP2, CP3 and a whole bunch of picks. Boston can offer Jaylon Brown but that’s not the overall value of what I said the Warriors would give. The Bucks can flip CP3 themselves. The Jazz have the Draft capital but I doubt Gannis wants to join a 2nd round exit team. The Knicks can’t offer a good enough value ether. To me it’s the Warriors, Clippers and Heat are the only teams who have the value to do it. And honestly I doubt Miami wants to give up their draft capital so bank on The Clippers and Warriors fighting for Gannis

On one hand Giannis is chasing rings. On the other hand, you had noted the NBA is rightfully putting a stop to this player created super-team nonsense, which has been going on for some time now. So, Giannis joining one team with a few stars, will mean 1 of those stars (or maybe more), will have to leave. The Bucks are looking to win in Giannis' prime just like any other NBA teams with such a talent.

Finally, as per every summer, I was in Greece, and took the time (where last year I did not get the chance as I had wanted) to go see and interview for a story, the man who owns the now famous cafe in Sepolia, Athens, where Giannis and his family grew up, just 500 metres away.
