I am really struggling to justify Stephen A.'s position. First, Damian Lillard has been having personal issues with family, so I think it's irresponsible to say that he's completely unhappy in Milwaukee. Yes, it wasn't his first choice, but I don't think he hates Milwaukee.
Second, we have to remember why this trade happened. This trade had to be made because Giannis pressured the organization by his comments about championships over the franchise last year. So if you trade Lillard, how would Giannis interpret it? I don't see Giannis happy with that. Also, you definitely need Giannis to sign off on that trade since he is your franchise player.
3rd, you only had 8 games with Middleton, Lillard, and Giannis on the floor the regular season. That just doesn't give us an understanding of how this team is.

They need to run it back!! The reason they lost was because their defence is absolute trash. Although lopez offers rim protection and scoring, he is a awful rebounding centre and his defensive postitioning is abysmal. Portis jr is better as a 6th man not as a starter. Middleton was great offensively all series but again he is a poor defender. Bucks need to trade portis jr and lopez for some defensive pieces. Offensively Middleton, Lillard and Giannis is enough

I'm a Celtics fan, but I think people are overreacting to the situation in Milwaukee. They struggled, but there were a lot of injuries in the post-season. Even if they were to 'trade Dame', what trade are they making that puts them over where people project Boston to be next year? I don't see anybody who is likely to be available that makes Milwaukee a stronger team. And if that guy is available, then why would I, as the opposing GM, trade him for Dame when Dame is coming off a statistically down season where he was injured? You'd have to toss me something else and then what is Milwaukee giving up?
Milwaukee took Doc and Lillard from a horrible organization in Portland. Born and raised in Portland, I can tell you there is a reason why they always underperform. Lillard just isn't that good. He is used to losing, and he plays no defense.

They fired their NEW coach mid season, they traded their best defensive player. They brought dame which needs to adjust to a completely different team where in reality he aint the first and theres injuries and some players are getting old. With all that said give them 2 seasons for everyone to adjust. This was a mess from the front office especially for listening to giannis. Its done so the only thing they can do is move forward with this core

One could argue the bucks blew off playing bucks team basketball for Dame to shoot threes. Dame has never been great at playing team basketball, his runs in Portland were great, but they fell to teams who had good defensive guards and teams who played good team basketball
How about trading Middleton instead and getting some young talent who can actually play D, rebound the ball and stay healthy. It'd be amazing to see Middleton having any success elsewhere.
