Hello, thank you for sharing this- I was preparing to start putting my Christmas cactus into the light and dark cycle and noticed that in began to get bud formation- is it okay to begin this? Thanks
I keep mine on my kitchen table facing an east window I never move it I don't turn it and they flower on Easter Thanksgiving and Christmas cactus I water once a week all year round
I have a huge Christmas cactus about 20 years old. There is no flower buds this year, just lots leaves. Should I trim the leaves back? Any tips to encourage flowering? Great video btw.

Hey Devin, do holiday cactus have small root systems? My son in law gave me a very small Christmas cactus that he started a cutting from his mother's Christmas cactus. He had it already planted for me and It has really grown . I noticed that the soil was shrinking down and today it seemed to be getting tipsy . I re potted it in new soil back in the same pot because the root system was very small and the pot seems to be a nice size .
I just purchsed a Thanksgiving plant from the nursery but it has white stains on all the leaves. I was told that it's due to the fertilizer that they spray in the nursary on regular base which will go away. Well it's been a 5 weeks and it is not going away. It's a very big plant. I tried to whipe off with clean clothe which worked a little but there are soo many leaves that I am afraid I will damage it. What should I do? I am in zone 8. Thank you.
Wait… Pennsylvania celebrates thanksgiving differently than everyone else? You said last week, but the video was uploaded a month ago. Thanksgiving isn’t until 11/28/24. I’m so confused lol

if it is already budding up, then just allow it to continue its journey to flowers and keep it as is!
Is it possible for Christmas cactus to bloom twice in the same year?

Love that!
what is the best fertilizer to use with Beer that helps to promote more flowers
With beer?
Do you bottom water? Is it okay to use tape water or should I use bottled water?
I bottom water if they are very root bound! Tap is generally fine

No need to trim. Just follow the tips on how to encourage blooms in the video now and they should bud up in about 6-8 weeks

Yeah that is totally normal. Give it another season and you’ll be able to pot it up to the next size
@@plantvibrations Thank you 😊
Beginner plant person here. I need to repot mine. They are still in pot from the store. Do you recommend clay type pots? Or something else?
Clay is great!
Looks like clay
Thank you from Claymont, De. My plants are around ten years old. They were doing real good around 2 and 3 years. Then my dogs started destroying them.
Oh noooo
@@plantvibrations You've motivated me to repot. They are like a timex watch, they keep on ticking.
How fast do they grow? Would like mube to grow faster.
They’re pretty quick!

I have one that is about 77 year old and very woody.
Amazing!$
I just purchased 6 on clearance from the drug store. Hoping I don’t kill them and mine end up looking like yours!
