      Yup that was Magic. Starting with the Lakers, it was Magic's team but he always deferred to Kareem. The Lakers had gone so many years without a championship and magis arrives and they win it.
      Magic was selfless, he got along with everybody. only Westhead who failed to read the sign of times when magic arrived at LA, became a causality.

    • @noneyabeeysnass8283
      @noneyabeeysnass8283 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And Magic’s game was craaaazy. He could do EVERYTHING Offensively. The best passer, the best PG on the fast break, he could speed the game up, he could slow the game down, he COULD shoot (allegedly his biggest weakness but he shot 53% fg for his career), Magic had low post game, high post game, could shoot the 3, the midrange 2, doubling or tripling him was stupid because he could pick you apart and get easy layups for his teammates, I got Magic #3 all time behind Wilt and MJ.

    • @fudgematthew33
      @fudgematthew33 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Before the '86-'87 season, Pat Riley practically had to force Magic to shoot more. He didn't need to score thirty per game to be effective. That's how selfless he was.

      That's what separates the dream team from all others. They took the best of the best and they were able to put egos aside and play team ball. The teams after were selfish and and struggled to play together. They eventually had to start handpicked the teams by positions to ensure the egos didn't clash.

      @@kookou13 I'm gonna tell you that the redeem team was built to be a more complete team which meant that they didn't just take the absolute best players . They purposely built a roster. The dream team was the absolute best players on the league , and they didn't have to force lineups that could play complete basketball.

    • @kookou13

    I was 18 years old during the summer Olympics in Barcelona, and this was a dream for me to watch having played 3 years of varsity basketball after 1 year of junior varsity as an 8th grader three years prior to H.S. The Dream Team was all my teammates and I could talk about at the start of my senior year that August. It was refreshing after the devastating news the year before when Magic announced he was HIV positive. I was so happy for him to get this opportunity thinking to myself that he'll be dead in a few years. Thank God we still have him with us 🙏

    Epic team!!!
    I will never forget the look of disbelief on their faces in the Olimpic game against Croatia when Franjo Arapovic dunked for Croatian advantage 24-23.
    They were so cocky and full of themselves, thinking how they are untouchable, almost God a like.
    Yes they were far better than anyone else, but I believe that no matter what you should never underestimate your opponent. Although success might seem to be hudge for us as members of human race, in grand scheme of things or out of scope of our race, considering the vastness of universe it might still be insignificant, so it would be a nice thing if we would be able to show more respect to each others, as well as to members of other species.
    I am grateful that I had a privilege to watch this great team in action. I think there will never, ever be a team of such epic proportions again

    I was in Barcelona for the olympics in 92. I saw the dream team play Lithuania. The amount of buzz and commotion around the city about Michael Jordan and other members of the dream team was incredible but the guy that was the friendliest of all the players was Barkley who would go out nightly up the Ramblas and meet with people. And I heard he was very visible in the Olympic Village as well. I met a USA female Olympian at a weightlifting event and I asked her about the dream team and she said they're like royalty to the rest of the athletes.
