Keep this GTR on the channel... the upgrades are nearly endless. My 17 year old and I bought a 2014 with 1,800 miles on it and having a blast with the car.
Now that's dope
agreed. Hopefully Alex doesn't listen to all of the OEM purists in the chat who whine about any aftermarket mods.
17 year old playing with a GTR....r.i.p.
@@Nathan93Baker Yeah, I mean... how awful is it that a Dad and Son are having fun together with a nice car?
@@Molitoth I'm not an OEM purist but some of the exterior mods people do these days make me cringe
My friend worked on exotics. But he said Japanese cars are the only car engineered for mechanics. Big difference to German engineers
what impresses me the most is your ability to dive into a new to you platform like you have been working on that platform for years, ability to connect the dots as well! great video bud!!
I really like this channel, dude is smart, likable, and makes a nice video with a lot of detail and no stupid cliff hangers or drama. I also like that he doesn't talk bad about everyone and everything to try and make himself seem so smart, his work shows that.
He used to make alot of comments about work he found, but he's really calmed down alot on it, it's nice just seeing the content and not getting opinions on what he thinks about what was done.
Alex is one of the best in the space!
The lack of drama is so refreshing. Can’t believe the TV car shows think guys want to watch all that ridiculous artificial BS. They clearly don’t know their audience.
@@morstyrannis1951....for some reason watching Alex feels like hanging with my friends on a weekend, having a few beers, while wrenching on our cars. It's strange, and I like that!
He is fun to watch, and you can count on a good video every Saturday.
27:10 "i saw a cool carbon fiber one that i might get one day" is car guy code for its ordered and will be here in a few days 🤣 🤣 🤣 love it Alex!!!!
I love your content so much. A TRUE car enthusiast. Not just a chevy or a Ford guy. Just a guy who loves all cool cars. Mercedes, turbo trans am, DeLorean and even DSM and GTRs... I always get excited when I get a notification for a legitstreetcars video. Makes my day.
I can't add too much more to the compliments already written below. This has become my favorite channel and I always look forward to the next episode. You have the talent and personality to have your own TV show. Your easy going approach to problem solving issues is a model for all to follow. ...Kudos
Alex, I've gotta say. You're probably my favorite hands on automotive TH-camr. Your filming style, explanations, and willingness to be transparent with your audience is just great. Plus you sharing your knowledge is fantastic. Can't say thank you enough. Look forward to every Sat. morning.
Wow, thanks Justin! Appreciate that
@@LegitStreetCars All very true, you do great work Alex.
My thanks comes all the way from Australia
Yes I totally agree ! Not many TH-cam channels personally comment or like commenting
But Alex keeps it real !
You know he reads them and that’s awesome
Thanks Alex 👍🏻 for keeping it real
He truly is one of the best. Super knowledgeable and also relaxed and awesome behind the camera. Check out Mat Armstrong too if you haven’t.
@@LegitStreetCars you change the cabin filter above the open engine 👍
I appreciate Alex showing the process of overcoming challenging issues. He doesn't just go from broken to fixed, making it look like he knows it all. He shows his thought process, each of his fails to fix and finally arriving at the solution. It encourages backyard mechanics to keep trying and how to go about problem solving. Not everything works out on the first try. Many thanks, Alex, for your honesty and integrity.
Thanks brother!
and you're a brokie going to your shitey day job, haha
And this is the reason I'm subing right now. His videos a real world love it. My first video was part 1 of the GTR and got jealous 😆
I can speak for everyone when I say there are LITERALLY NO FLAWS the channel. Combination of content NEVER boring moment. The learning curve of the crucial info as minimal or big it's all so helpful. You are blessed, my brother . Wish the very best to you and your family and crew to the channel. Take care and keep being you. God bless.
Bro I gotta disagree with you on the DeLorean I had 2 of them when I had my bodyshop. Mater fact it took me 6 mons. To find a left fender cause John done dumped so much parts into the ocean, crazy. 6 cylinder Volvo engine. No real windows. It's not my cup of tea
Your GTR is sweet
Your enthusiasm is refreshing, knowledge you share is like good food. I watched you after midnight, tried to sleep and reopened to peek twice more after two a.m. first after coffee, back to the G.T.R. Exciting to absorb your videos. I am an old motor head, my challenges were a bit less complicated as they are now. The G.T.R. is a very attractive machine, love the technology. Keep on keeping on, great stuff!
The nismo cap is offered by nissan. It's oem with a nismo stamp. They have Radiator caps, oil caps, oil pan bolt/nut (magnetic), nismo lug nuts, air valve stem caps. Basically, the person before was a nissan guy and loved nismo and got nismo Oem parts
And those parts are $$$$$$$$$$$
A nismo guy who gave up on his GTR bc his solenoids were dirty. Poor fella.
@j_rainsgoat3929 I mean, imagine spending 8 grand on your trans just for it to start skipping 2nd gear. And why did they upgrade in the first place? Probably was done with any problems that popped up and got a new gtr or imported one. Is it true? It's probably not, just my take tho
@@j_rainsgoat3929sometimes life financial situations change or people pass and the living spouse fire sells stuff to get cash. It could be any number of understandable reasons why it was offloaded.
@@j_rainsgoat3929Think it's owned by different owners at one point. One built the car, enjoyed it, got bored and sold it for something else, the other bought the car knowing absolutely nothing about the car and just assumed the gearbox is toast when the lights came on.
It's very common here in my region, especially with BMWs, they don't understand their cars and not realise that "lifetime gearoil" was never a thing and sell them right after the warranty ends as the trans start to act up, all the car needed was just new gearoil.
Out of all the lemons of people who treated their GTR's poorly... This one is an absolute beast, what a gift.
Please restore it and enjoy it!
so glad to see how far u have come brother!! Your knowledge on cars blows me away. Ive worked on cars my whole life and learn something new from u every video. keep the content coming man!!
Alex, I absolutely love your videos! Nothing (almost) daunts you, and you are into it to the end. I can see why you get such raves about your style and content. Your positive attitude is clearly the winner! Thanks for the BEST TH-cam channel for automotive stuff, hands down!! 👍🤯😜😁
shep transmission is KING! i ordered full built transmission back in the day to Dubai! i installed it and drove the car for 800km and the transmission died on me after that. i contacted shep transmission they shipped my busted transmission to USA rebuilt it fully to spec i ordered at the start. fully covered by shep transmission shipping and parts what can i say more!! The expression on people face when a GTR launch never changed for the past 15 years. Everything about the GTR is *chef kiss*.
It's nice yes. But far far away from for example a Tesla Model S Plaid launch. Which literally pushed the blood to the back of your head.
@@HermanWillems Seems like Tesla launches are getting boring quickly, as he sold his Model X plaid after a few month.
Really cool to see quick updates at the end of what is coming up!! Thanks alex!
Just wanted to say i don’t know how I’m just now seeing this channel but man the quickness in which I subscribed.. I watched the last video you uploaded first and love the in depth dive you take us on. Very informational and never got bored. 10/10
The elbow-click 😂, I feel your pain. Love these videos, Alex. You’re a great teacher.
Thanks for watching Jim!
Remember: click in the wrist is 5Nm, in the elbow 25Nm in shoulder 50Nm and in the knee 100Nm

Don’t forget to call Carfax to ask them to change the Miles to Kilometers. They are pretty easy to work with as long as you show them the evidence of your claim. Otherwise you essentially end up with a TMU unit with the Carfax mileage discrepancy.
@@elipsorangeI mean change it from 89xxx miles to 89xxx kilometers on the Carfax record.
@@wzbhnn89k kilometres is not 89 miles
@@elipsorange no he said it right
Really only matters to fools that both believe a carfax has any value and can't easily see the deacpency themselves.
I love your unforced delight at how this car A) runs and B) is built! The Japanese definitely know how to put something together correctly!
Keep this on the channel, don't care if you do mega horsepower or just a little bit, I kinda like the stockness GTR!
Love the channel and the depth of detail you go into stripping the cars down! That'd what keeps me entertained! You're the slightly older Matt Armstrong, positive and enthusiastic!
Well they did the Honda pilot dirty as hell. Not easy to do most of the fluids.
Been watching a while, only commented a couple times, but man, Alex, I love how detailed you are with stuff on the vehicles, as well as your character shows through every video. Thanks for the great content every video!
This was the Car Gods giving you a win after the issues that have had you questioning your commitment to working on old cars! Keep doing what you do Alex!
Time to make some breakfast and sit back and enjoy the show!!
Enjoy!
That is a brilliant idea! Time for some Legit Street Pancakes. Lol
This literally my breakfast making TH-cam channel 😂
Love the new addition to your collection! I got to drive a GTR back in 2011 and it was an experience I will never forget!!
You do actually have to do some cycling of gears and a specific temperature to properly fill the transmission.
But in all honesty. You can overfill the GR6 by 2 qts and it's just fine and actually helps to prevent cavitation on launches and hard acceleration.
For Ecutek press and hold cancel then use the toggle up and down for cruise control to cycle between Maps.
That GT-R sounds so good. Curious what the issue is
My money is on a garbage tune
Seems like the fuel is just a bit subpar compared to what the tune needs. They’ve probably pushed timing closer to MBT and the ECU is slowly advancing, then running into knock. That’s why it only happens every few runs, and perhaps why the good fuel fixed the problem. Hard to say without any info though! Looking forward to seeing more.
it's a skill issue
@@coreyw427so you´re saying the tune is Garbage? ;)
@@axelhorneff5077 Ha not exactly, certainly not as universal as the original Nissan tune though!

Magnetic transmission plate just might play havoc with those magnetic valve body sensors ;)
I definitely have garage envy! 🤣🤣
Glad that Alex is happy as can be, given the struggles of recent videos. Hope the GTR hangs around.
Install a flex fuel setup/E85/tune. Did it to mine and makes the GTR a beast

Hands down favorite TH-cam channel and the relationships you have are so genuine all love freakin awesome to watch

Take a guess at my new daily driver that comes out next week. It also has AWD, a twin-turbo V6, six-speed transmission but costs 10 times less than the GTR. Can't wait to show you!
3000GT VR4?
You should buy a old JDM car and do a series about it. It would be right up your alley with all the repairs they usually need. Would be great to showcase to people the reality of buying and owning an old JDM vehicle.

I love watching your videos , it’s crazy all of the knowledge you have on almost any kind of car . Thank you so much 💪🏼
Oh !!that clean up job was so satisfying .. timing area was looking brand new.. cheers 🍻
The best youtube channel ever thank you Alex, i stopped watching direct tv many years ago but watch a tv series or a movie now and then. But for the most i choose to be in the garage when i have my alone time, but it is great to have a proper "Legit" hour every Saturday. Not always home to watch it but i know it is there waiting for me when i get home and have my alone time behind the tv.
I follow others also also some of Alex's friends channels, but there it is more choosing if something looks interesting if it is a car i like or have a had experience with. With Legit Street Cars it is always interesting whatever car project it is. I do not even have to like the car, i am learning a lot from Alex for sure. I think it is many things that makes me and a lot of other like it so much. There is just the right ammount of everything, it is probably because he is just himself and really enjoying doing repairs and maintenance. And of course never a bad word about anyone else, and most of the jokes are on himself 😅
Thank you again Alex and please keep up the amazing work, looking forward to the next video👍
Saturday morning Street Cars! ❤
It was an Australian journalist that came up with the Godzilla name for the GTR. Back when the R32 came to Australia, to race in our group A touring car championship. The car was unbeatable, like Godzilla.
I’m not gonna lie Alex, you’re truly next level. I wish you 2M subs ASAP…it would be so well deserved. You’re my Saturday treat. Every week. Keep it up!
I like this car the most out of all your cars. This was a great video! I cant wait for up coming videos featuring this car. I hope you go for high hp upgrades that don't rob drivibility. Your doing a great job. Take us with you when you go to auction? That's usually fun weather you purchase anything or not. Ok, standing by waiting for that notification. Peace!
Alex gives me the energy I need to start my Saturday morning with his positive attitude.
So glad everything worked out in the end. Very sweet car Alex.👍
Loving the GTR videos! This car is so badass and yall look like you are having so much fun with it.
Your facial expressions @ 55:39 during the launch reminded me of the first time I did a proper launch in my old lightly modded '92 3000GT VR4 (with at least 200 less awhp than you've got here). AWD launches are the best. Love the content by the way.
@legitstreetcars Glad you fixed your R35. Amazing how knowledge and perseverance pays off.
Alex, I love the way you clean everything my brother! So many guys on shows don’t and it drives me crazy!
I'd love to see as much of this build as possible please. Really enjoy watching your builds.

I think your car collection is pretty cool. I owned a 86 Grand National when I was 17 and raced the shit out of it. The Merc Wagon is something I would have loved to drive. This GTR you have now is sweet. I live in Toronto and want a GTR. I own a 91 300zx twin turbo with 600 wheel hp.
