- What are the signs you are pregnant with your tubes tied?
In a lot of cases, the symptoms are the same as when you are pregnant without trying to prevent it.
Like morning sickness, fatigue, a lot of bodily changes. I went through that with the first pregnancy, which is why I got my tubes tied after the second one.
When you’re pregnant with your tubes tied, there are a number of signs to look out for.
Like the urge to scream at the doctor for not doing it right?
If you’ve had your tubes tied, you’re at greater risk of an ectopic pregnancy.
I’ve heard the term but do not know what it means.
An ectopic pregnancy is when the egg is fertilized but cannot make its way to the uterus.
Because the tubes are tied.
Yes. And the growing embryo is trying to grow somewhere that is not designed to contain it or expel it.
That does not sound good.
An ectopic pregnancy means you have an embryo trying to grow where it presses on the surrounding organs. If you have severe pain in your stomach that won’t stop, that’s escalated over time, you need to get to an ER.
Do not they have to do surgery to fix that?
Yes, because it is not like they can transplant the embryo to the uterus. Whether they take out the embryo or an ovary too, depends on the situation.
I’d only heard of it as someone going in thinking they had appendicitis, and got the ectopic pregnancy diagnosis after they did a pregnancy test.
Your odds of an ectopic pregnancy are higher after you’ve had your tubes tied than normal, but your odds of getting pregnant after your tubes tied is still one percent or less.
Given my luck, this is the only lottery I win.
The odds of ectopic pregnancy after tubal ligation are three times that of normal. But if it is a normal implantation, the rest of the pregnancy is as likely to be normal as the others.
Except that I got rid of all the baby stuff.
And you’re older, which means you have the higher risks of prenatal diabetes and genetic defects than when you got pregnant a decade ago.
What other symptoms could I have with pregnancy after a tubal ligation?
If your period skips, you could be pregnant or hitting menopause.
I’m not old enough for menopause. And the hot flashes are hard to mistake for anything but a symptom of that.
But if you have pain on one side of your abdomen, it means you have something seriously wrong and need to see the doctor, whether pregnancy or something else.

I just turned 43 Took a test 2 days ago and I’m pregnant. I had my permanent tub ligation 13 yrs ago it’ll 14 yrs in feb. So far no problems or complications. I hope this pregnancy is successful

I’ve heard so many beautiful stories of women getting pregnant and having a great pregnancy/ heathy babies but here I am not having any luck and I so badly want another child before I’m too old 😭
Sometimes I think it’s just a mentally emotional thing as well just because we knowing we can’t have anymore kids actually kicks in when you think you want another baby 😢

So who has all gotten pregnant after being cut, burned or tied? If so how long after your surgery did it happen? How many ectopics and how long after? I'm curious. I've been cut n burnt ,since 2007 ( no pregnancies after but it is interesting).

Mine were tied in 2005 got pregnant in 2008 with ectopic pregnancy in right tube, it was removed. Got pregnant in left tube in 2011 had another ectopic pregnancy. That tube was removed also. Dr said its an one in million chance. I guess i am that 1 out of million. If i could turn back the hands of time i would not go through with a bilateral tubal ligation. I have a lot of scar tissue now and endometriosis. I also have 2 babies that i am still grieving over. I am just taking it day by day.
I'm sorry to hear that . How did u know they were ectopic? Did u have a lot of pain right away. I wish I hadn't sometimes .

The dr did an ultrasound and was able to tell me they were ectopic both times. I was in a lot of pain. It felt like menstrual cramps that wouldnt go away. I had morning sickness, tender breast, and an headache that would come daily.

dealing w a similar issue....only my period which wasnt much stopped after 3days. I barely even bled. But im emotional as hell, sore heavey breasts and morning sickness! :-(

no i haven't been stressed at all been very happy and content I had a two day period last month very light and I was literally spotting not a real period I been nauseous and moody 3 days late so far
my tubed been tied 11 year a blood test it was negative went back took a urinal test its negative. I haven't had a period in 3 months. my stomach growning, throwing up, getting weak, headache etc. The Dr tell me I'm not period going to give me something to make my period react. What i need to do?
if your blood test and urine test are negative then its highly unlikely your pregnant. your period may be late due to other reasons. if you are still worried get an ultrasound.
Insist on an ultrasound. That's what I would do.

No. Its early pre menopause. Apparently getting ones tubes tied can trigger early menopause.

I have been pregnant in 2014 and took a pregnancy test at my doctor office it was negative and still was having a period how I found out had to go back a week later to have a ultrasound the lady that done my ultrasound put the prob on my belly and I hear a heart beat and baby was in my uterus she tells me don't listen to that sound it's nothing and turns the sound no off and measures the baby and then they sent me back and n two days later my doctor tells me to get on the table put my legs into those two things on the exam table and I feel him pulling something and I know I wasn't on my period and then he went out the room came back and tells me I need to be put on contraceptive i say why he said not nothing so the next day I get my medical rec
