I had a traumatic miscarriage in 2017. I lost my first and only baby girl. I was about to be 5 moths, I'm already mother to 2 beautiful boys but I was so happy to have even gotten pregnant. (Especially after chemo and radiation). I even had a blood transfusion from losing so much blood when i had the miscarriage. I was devastated. But to my surprise a few months later I was pregnant with my 3yr old son. When I gave birth they did the tubal ligation. But now I really want to try and have another baby. Thank you so much Doctor Rich for this helpful information. Before I saw your video I hadn't even heard of post tubal ligation syndrome. Sadly my doctor didn't do his job the way he should. Guys look into Rio bravo reversal! I got my tubes untied there. A lot of ppl went and got pregnant after! Cost is very low and the doctors and nurses are so nice!

I had a salpingectomy and have had horrible PTLS. I just want it to end! I cannot believe Dr's would lie to their patients saying there will be no symptoms at all.

I had a bilateral partial salpingectomy 5 years ago and since have experienced Post Tubal Ligation Syndrom symptoms. It's been debilitating to say the least. Can this procedure be reversed? Btw I have 3 different opinions scheduled next week. I'm praying there is someone that can help me. TIA

I've had a Bilateral salpingectomy done. I wasn't aware that was the term used to get both tubes taken out. I thought I was going to get a Cut, tie and burn. Now my fiance and I want to start a family. The doctor took out 5.8 cm of each tube. Is it possible to get it reversed? Or do we have no other choice but Invitro?
CajunMana: When both tubes are removed (salpingectomy) a tubal reversal can not be performed. A Bruhat procedure has a low success rate but can be attempted if there in any portion of the tube remaining. Otherwise IVF success rates can be as high as 70% per cycle.

Jessica: There are many different methods of 'tying tubes'. For women who have had a complete bilateral salpingectomy (best to get the operative note and surgical pathology report to confirm)- It is not possible to have a tubal reanastamosis.

Amanda Eagle: The surgeon would need the operative note and pathology report to be able to estimate the success of the repair. If a large portion of the tube is destroyed the chance of successful reanastamosis is low.

Patients who have undergone a classic KROENER fimbrioneetomy can not have a tubal reversal since the end of the tube has been removed. These patients have a very low chance of pregnancy success with tubal surgery. Fortunately these patients do have of option of IVF

@Laura Botello: Women who are seeking fertility after tubal ligation have two options: tubal reanastamosis or in vitro fertilization (IVF). There is a lot of counseling involved and a reproductive endocrinologist (fertility doctor) or surgical specialist can advise you regarding cost and outcomes.

It took Me 5 years to get pregnant after I had my reversal. Don't give up! My son that I had after My reversal is a senior in High school now. He is absolutely the best child around. I was very blessed with him. Never a bit of trouble. He was well worth the wait.

I had my tube tied 4 years ago is it possible for me to get it untied
My doctor billed my to my insurance even though they claim it was not covered. He called me a few weeks after my reversal letting me know he would be refunded me some of the money I paid down before my surgery because they just received payment from my insurance company. He told me to call hospital and have them also bill my insurance since he got paid. So they did. In ended up paying less the 300 dollars between the hospital fees and doctor fees. So if I was you guys I would still have your insurance billed. They may end up paying.

'Laser' is a term that is often used is place of 'laparoscopy'. It does not reveal the method of tubal ligation. The best option is to obtain the operative report from the surgery.
