Carrie, that color is exquisite on you! It looks so lovely! I am glad you got to do this with Christine! I was so impressed with Lindsay when she took our pictures at the Francaise Dinner in 2019. Maybe one day I too can do a photo shoot with her for my costumes! Costume goals! This video made me smile, especially when you both gasped at the same time looking at the shots on LIndsay's computer! :)
Beautiful!! I don't think I would look good in a RALF. But do have plans to dive into the 18th at some point. I am currently working on three 1910s gown that would have been worn at CoCo21 if it were an in person event.
I am making a RALF for two events that are coming up. Thank you for your inspiration. It is so much work!! I am finished with the actual robe other than sewing on a little more trim and then I will start on the petticoat/. I thought I could get by using a regular corset but I had to break down and buy 18th century stays. The pins that hold it together make me feel so scared it is going to either 1. rip the silk or 2. come unpinned. I am curious...How many pins did you use? Did you use silk pins? Because they seem too wimpy. My stomacher feels a little too small. I should've made it larger I think. Also, I realized my chemise has a little too much fabric and it's making the sleeves on my RALF too tight so I have to make the one from Simplicity. I love this photoshoot the two of you did. I wish I had a friend who loved to sew that I could meet for a photoshoot. The two of you look just lovely in your gorgeous gowns. I loved the sneak peak with the photographer's tattoos beside your 18th century gown. I love the juxtaposition. Anyway, thank you!! I watched your video to compare notes over and over and over as I was sewing. I always wanted to make one of these and I'm pretty excited about it (although I kind of hate it at the moment). I need to walk away from it for for a few days I think. :)
@@AJaneiteSews WOW!!! I was using 6 pins lol. I would never have guessed 15-25. Thanks so much!! I will buy a new box of pins for my occasion next month. One last question... my gown is finished and I love it. I just need to hem it. How did you decide on your hem length? Big hugs to you. I really could not have made it without your video.
Omg if only we could all do this!
You both look divine! I can't wait to see more from the shoot!
Thank you, Eleanor 🥰

I use more sturdy straight pins and I often use between 15 and 25 depending on how secure I feel in the gown that day, lol
