- George Galloway won the Rochdale by-election on Friday morning and took the chance on stage to call out the main political parties, show solidarity with Palestine, and vow to keep Rochdale's football club afloat.

The Galloway win is seismic but it's not anywhere near as seismic as the fact that Rochdale put a strong local independent candidate in 2nd place. If the country can get behind doing this at General Elections then we may finally rid ourselves of the toxic two party system
Good point. The commentators seem to have missed this.
and what's the alternative? A raft of minority parties, none of which have a clue how to run a bath, let alone a country!
Yes, hope we use our brains in the next general elections.
Pakistani voters chose him because they share a fixation with Gaza & fandom of Hamas.

Some of us are old enough to remember when Galloway said Brown and Cameron are the two cheeks of one arse. The joke was Clegg was the cleft in the middle.

@@yousausage He's got a habit of being a charlatan grifter, taking as much in expenses as he could whilst denying it entirely.

@@jesush.tap-dancingchrist7328people knew what they were doing when they voted Galloway in. He will spend the few months he has making a mockery of Westminster. You can smear him as much as you want, he’s won and you can’t do jack.
And he was right then
It is now becoming very clear many in the UK are disillusioned with a 2 party system, that sees the current government, legal and corporate systems as self service not public service... we need systemic change within every aspect of the establishment....
Spot on! You nailed it!
work for the people not the criminals and gangsters.
It would've been too easy for us to sit back and watch the telly and not worry about the world's problems.. but more recently than ever before, people are more upset, and more annoyed, and realise that if they got off their arsenal for a few years, they can get a better chair and TV. Most people don't care about the politics, however, more people are caring about it right now, which is better than nothing.
In Tories’ attempt to weaponise antisemitism and tarnish Labour Party, the Tories inadvertently opened the door wide open for Galloway MP! British Parliament just got really exciting 🤣🤣
It wasn’t inadvertent
@@ECECECECEC Nah, it's is widely know that the Tories never had any semblance of values or principles as a party, but Labor, to a certain degree, did. Attacking the Labor party when a rift between the the honorable (Jeremy Corbyn) and dishonorable (almost everyone else, right now, their face is Keir Starmer, or as I like to call him Kid Starver) would only slowly make it less and less relevant, as people just perceive it as "the other Tories party" now. And from there, it was only a matter of time until people have had enough and independents or 3rd parties surge. And they're doing right now.
Perhaps you haven't heard Genocide Rishi's recent desperate emergency speech after George won? Don't tell me you think they're not scared shitless now.
.... "weaponising antiemitism", let's just call it "Muslim Fascism"..... Phew, that was refreshing.

George has a good moral compass and stands up against the western warmongers, and stands for the man in the street. A real socialist like Corbyn - he fought Corbyn's corner, better than Corbyn. Check out his trial at the US senate against the war on Iraq. He anihalated them.
Starmer has crossed the line which he was very close to going over to start with for my vote, the Red Tories with Starmer as their leader will not be getting my vote.
This is the full quote from that interview:
Keir: "Israel must have that, does have that right to defend herself, and Hamas bears responsibility."
Nick Ferrari: "A siege is appropriate? Cutting off power, cutting off water, Sir Keir?"
Keir: "I think that Israel does have that right, it is an ongoing situation, obviously everything should be done within international law... Israel has a right to defend herself and Hamas bears responsibility for these terrorist acts".
The fact that he gave one answer when asked two different questions, was continuing to repeat parts of what he said before this question, that LBC said the video they clipped up was not edited (when it was - and pathetic), is why everyone fell for it.
Will not be getting my vote, another oft quoted line.
Well done George, Sunak and Starmer will be haveing many sleepless nights!!

But I heard him say Israel has the right to cut power and water..it came from his mouth. And by the way which International laws have been upheld to date?
Lol. It simply means he was prepped before the interview and he kept repeating the talking point of Israel being justified in doing whatever because Hamas…
@aleksandrsolzhenitsyn63 Kid Starver... sorry, Keir Starmer has a political base? Well, now I've heard everything.
And WTF is is with this "labor is festering with antisemtism" crackpot again? Or did you never leave that propaganda train in the first place?
The problem with Kier is that he does not listen to the question in full before answering.
Knowing that Nick Ferrari is an agent for the Tory party , as a lawyer , you expect him to know that the interview was a trap to trip him, but he went there like a parrot repeating same sentence & Ferrari twisted the question mid- sentence & got the clip he needed & magnified it. Everything else was irrelevant . Ferrari’s job for the Tory party and lobby of choice was done! Kier was tarred with that clip! He is supposed to be forensic and USE A VERY LONG SPOON when dining with the Media !
@@Tee-bq2po I get your point, but I would say that Nick didn't know Keir would continue a previous point. Also, saying that international law should be followed in the same sentence meant that Nick didn't react anyway nor looked like he was going for a gotcha type question. Though of course LBC did have it clipped up as a TH-cam short quicker than usual.

Congratulations ! Mr. Galloway.
Despite ReformUK PLC’s derisory vote, it was noticeable the ReformUK candidate Simon Danczuk wasn’t even present at the Rochdale declaration.
That’s not very sporting is it in view of the fact Hedgefunded ReformUK attract so much national media attention compared to other smaller parties particularly the winners, The Workers Party?
This by-election may well have been focussed on a single foreign policy issue like Gaza but in reality all issues blend into each other whether foreign or domestic economic. Many voters may regard Tory and Labours stance on Israel and Gaza as indicative of what both are like on all key issues.
Yes it took the focus off the boring bipartisan political relationship between Tories and Labour but that will be temporary. It will always be at General Election’s etc a contest between Tory and Labour.
Whether one supports (or likes) Galloway or not, the corollary of this Rochdale result, bearing in mind right wing Starmer voluntary suspended a Right Wing Labour candidate because of Azwah Ali ‘s alleged conspiracy theory against Israel, highlights how utterly weak Labour are today under Starmer’s leadership.
You do realise that reform pulled out as various members of their staff received death threats and notes if they attended

@@DavidZ4-gg3dm Israel and the US funded Hamas, this was stated in US Congress January 2010 by former US Congressman Ron Paul. He stated that Israel funds Hamas, we fund Israel, we are funding both sides and this is not in the interests of the American people.
If Hamas are terrorists as claimed by both US and Israel, the logical conclusion is that Israel and the US are state sponsors of terror, they are therefore complicit in any acts of terror committed by them.
The UK is therefore complicit by supporting those state sponsors of terror, US and Israel, after all they funded Hamas.
Cutting off the food, water and electricity to a confined population of 2.3 million people, 50% of them children in response to an attack by Hamas on October 7th (who the US and Israel had funded) is collective punishment and a war crime under S33 of the Geneva Convention.
@@DavidZ4-gg3dm What is your point? Hezbollah by the way is the government of Lebanon and we have diplomatic relations with them. The ICJ has deemed that based on the evidence that is Israel is plausibly committing genocide. Cases are being prepared against the UK government and particular ministers for being complicit in that genocide, ethnic cleansing and war crimes so why would he speak out when our government has blood on their hands with Hezbollah and Hamas representing the axis of resistance.
The government has no moral authority whilst it is supporting and facilitating genocide. Maybe the government can bring it up when they are defending themselves at the ICJ. Hamas were elected by the Palestinians in Gaza in 2006, a territory which Israel is illegally occupying as per the UN, they have been prevented from having any elections ever since, and been under partial blockade since for the last 16 years at least. That is until the Israel cut off the food, water and electricity to 2.3 million people, 50% of them children held in an open air concentration camp in Gaza at gunpoint.
