And why didn't you do that Kier? Did you maybe get absolutely embarrassed because you didn't vet your man hard enough?
I love that. "We didn't run a candidate" invites the question "why didn't you?" and the answer is "because he was a big ol' perv", which is more embarrassing than losing the seat to Galloway. What a tremendous self-own.

@@MrBoDiggety We don't elect our Prime Minister but I get what the OP is trying to say. Basically, the various parties vote for their leader (who will become PM if they win) and we, the voters, vote for the individual MPs. The party with the largest share of MPs wins the election and gets to represent the country with a Prime Minister. More or less that.
During this government, the Prime Minister (Boris Johnson) who was leading the party during the election resigned and so the Conservative party voted in a new Prime Minister (Liz Truss) and she became Prime Minister. Finally, Liz Truss was forced to resign and they then again voted in a new PM (Rishi Sunak).
OP is saying that the Conservatives were voted in with the knowledge that Boris Johnson would be PM. Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak came later and were not approved as PM by the voters. Not that it actually matters as that isn't how our system works - we do not vote for the PM (though they must be an elected MP).
With that said, an interesting thing happened in Northern Ireland - the Deputy First Minister (who is supposed to jointly represent the people alongside the First Minister - they have equal power due to Power Sharing in Northern Ireland) doesn't sit in Stormont (the devolved version of Parliament) and instead chose to sit in the House of Commons in Parliament. We need a Deputy First Minister though, so he left behind an unelected representive to represent him in representing the people. So the joint leader of Stormont is unelected.

I don’t think that’s the source of it, at least not for the majority - it certainly isn’t for me. I don’t doubt his genuine concern for the plight of Palestinians, which is perfectly commendable. It’s the way he swans up in places with which he has no association just to get votes on such an issue, acting as though his single position will exert any real influence. His past behaviour shows that he is strongly egotistical and a generally unpleasant character who is not well placed to represent the interests of a highly diverse community.

@@thelightisaheadwhen the residents of rochdale have been so poorly served that someone can swan up and steamroll the election that should tell you all you need to know. the people servicing that area have made failure after failure of historical proportions. you're defending parties that failed to stop large scale child sex trafficking. the region has been failed, now it will be served and there will also be a candidate in parliament to support sane anti war policies on a national level. if we had a logical electoral system where the lords were replaced by a PR system of candidates representing national issues then people wouldn't need to play the game of constituency-based politics, but ultimately the constitutency he chose has been treated horrendously by the two party system, so where better to go?

George was awe struck with Saddams son Ude, a man who boasted about randomly picking up innocent young girls on the streets of baghdad and raping them, not to mention his reputation for killing people with his bare hands. Perhaps George was looking for a few pointers from Ude on Dating!! Perhaps he was preparing for his appearance on Reality TV's "Celebrity Big Brother" He looked so impressive for the women wearing his skin tights, displaying his muscular big belly to the audience and "purring" like a cat to the girls. I've said the media has been toxic throughout the entire Western world for many years now. I'm in the US today, but I've traveled (35 countries) extensively internationally, and I spent a total of 13 years outside the United States. The toxicity of the media in America went into overdrive in 15' leading up to the 16' US presidential election. Didn't The UK go through BREXIT during the same time period? I thought the coverage of the entire Brexit saga from the UK media was toxic. Fast foward to 20', and the coof. One could watch news from Canada Australia, New Zealand, USA, UK, and it was clear there was coordination on maintaining an approved narrative. The lying was obvious across the board. Talk about toxic, people absolutely lost their minds, and the media promoted the insanity. The coverage of war, religion, politics, social media, immigration, race, medicine, law, climate, education, and everything under the Sun has been politicized at this point. It's a toxic nightmare, and the disaster grows larger by the day. The cure is to think for one's self, and not let the "expert" class on the controlled legacy media tell you...what you think.

A set of cheeks!!!! 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂 I agree with him! This is awesome, let them get told off...nobody cares if their feelings get hurt. They stand for MURDER, GENOCIDE AND have no gutts to put izzy under control. Do you people not realize what they are setting the whole world up to endure by supporting this genocide? Do you not think izzy will do the same to you? We need REAL political leaders to put a stop to this, not babies needing binkies and pampers!

I think Labour (and much of the media) are hugely underestimating how much support and how many votes they have lost over Gaza.

so, if people dont vote labour, and tories win, how does that help gaza? people dont grasp how politics works.

@@kanedNunableThis is a situation where people didn't vote Labour and the Tories didn't win, right in front of your eyes. It can be done. You have more than two choices.

@@kanedNunableAnd anyway how will voting Labour help Gaza either when for all practical purposes both Tories and Labour back Israel to the hilt.
Stop vote-shaming. People have the right to assert what they care for, and if the mainstream parties can't represent these positions, it's their loss.
