How I got here - The Endless Coloured Ways - The songs of Nick Drake covers. Cover of Northern Sky by Kris Drever and Karine Polwart. Straight onto Spotify "This is Kris Drever", and then heard this track and absolutely loved it. Straight onto TH-cam hoping to find a live version and hey presto! This is absolutely fantastic.
My song of the moment.....I heard Kris Drever sing this back in May, love the arrangement, the words, the singing. The event took place over 100 years ago, in June 1919, but the words are as pertinent as ever. Great song.
This was such a beautiful concert - a real treat in the midst of the lock down, and some of the best renditions you've done of what are already fantastic songs.
Absolutely super sound greetings from afolkie at heart clonakilty West Cork, heard you were at the guitar festival didn't get to see you always loved scottish music
Great to get a new posting, and great to hear that you remain on top form. Where The World Is Thin is a fine album. I hope to get to Scotland in 2022. See you there!
Kris I heard this on radio the other night and i was blown away by Catterline, as being Irish im not massive into Scottish folk but this is absolutely beautiful and my now favourite Scottish song. thank you :)
There was a very brief Declaration of Independence in Oldenburg but the sailors on board the ships had no access to news of any kind and so wouldn’t have known one way or the other.
Kris. I’m writing back again. the bbc session which had Catterline on it has gone. is there anyway i could get it? I’m absolutely in love with it and i need it in my life, Particularly the live version. cheers! J
Hi Kris, The song is great, the band has lot of energy, and you’ve got great guitars. Is it a Colling D1 other than the Waterloo on the back? Ciao da Milano (Marco)
Kris performed this at the Malvern Cube last night with Heather Cartright - such a moving and beautifully crafted song - thank you

Just fantastic Kris very emotional..
Oh, I'm such a sucker for harmony. Beautifully done, all. It helps when the song lends itself to harmony too ;)

Great song. Just keen to find an explanation of the significance of Oldenburg at that time

Hey Kris did you have a video up of you playing Ramnee Ceilidh? I could have sworn you did but I can’t find it now
I did but not sure where it's gone, was it Mandolin or guitar? Maybe I can do another one. K
