Now over 8 years old, but still very handy. I'm building a new PC and didn't have too many choices in cases as few come with provision for an optical drive these days. I burn music CDs so purchased a new DVD/Bluray burner. The CD/DVD drive on my existing PC is stuffed, the tray refuses to come out.
There is normally a tiny hole at the front of the drive, if you get a paperclip and straighten it out, then push it in the tiny hole, it should eject the tray. (you might already of tried this) Thanks for the comment 👍
@@ultimatehandyman Thanks for the tip, I had completely forgotten about that old trick. I used one of my wife's needles and out it came. I slipped in my "blank" disc, which is a clear piece of plastic which didn't have the silver coating on it. I found it in a container of discs and which hitherto had allowed the tray to pop out. A complete disc confused the PC on startup. The tray beat me one day and has been stuck for ages :)
Great video! I just have one question. Where did you get the optical drive with the software and the cables because I cannot to seem to find them anywhere.
PERFECT timing with this upload, I was going to get one of these for Christmas and was wondering how difficult it might be to do. Excellent video, thank you!
