It really is! My kids always prefer homemade! Lily wants store bought this year because she wants a special cake we saw and I don't think I can find the topper but for the most part they want homemade and that feels so special to me.

This is making my mouth water. Sometimes I forget I'm an adult and could literally go and buy myself an ice cream cake and there be no judgement lol

Gosh, the time involved seems to outweigh the money saved just by buying one at the store? You had to go to the grocery store to buy the ingredients just to start the project (money and precious shopping minutes better placed elsewhere). You could have bought it at the store and used the saved time to play with your kids or helped them do their homework? The grocery store you went to didn't even have the specific brands you preferred to use. If you didn't care so much then why make the ice cream cake at all ... just buy the cake at DQ and be done with it girl?
The video creating process to make the you tube video maybe makes up for it because you get to share this with strangers like me (who have no idea of how to do it).
I will stick with letting the workers at DQ deal with too much fudge in the Oreo cookie mix, the celephane wrapper headache, kitchen cleanup afterwards and, presenting a crooked cake at the party.
TY for the video but, it just seems like you wasted a whole lot of precious time teaching people (like me) a wreckless way to do something best done by some teenagers at DQ.

I have made alot of ice cream cakes and I do each layer and put back in the freezer in a pan like a cheese cake pan with a release clip. I have 3 sizes and I have never had a problem. If you want me to post a link to the pan just let me know. Your cake turned out great. Just you had a lot of work into yours.

I wish I had a bigger freezer so I could make ice cream cake.
It's really good! Maybe make a small version? I've always done it in little cups (think cupcake size) and those are my husbands favorite because they're grab and go.

The only problem was the fudge was too runny it needed to be thicker , otherwise it look amazing good job 👏
Definitely agree on that account. Too Runny meant it froze too hard. That was a mistake on my part.
