Jim, not sure if you have much experience with spider wire braid but I'm using 65 lb on my frogging and punching rod. Just wondering if you prefer the sunline Fx2 to anything else. I'll probably be getting some Fx2 soon to tie onto my flipping and frogging sticks, but once it warms up in Illinois I'd love to see some punching and frogging videos from you(at least later in the season). Keep up the great videos and can't wait to see what a fellow Illinois bass fisherman is doing. Cheers.
I haven't used a ton of different braids, but what I can say is FX2 is so good in my opinion I don't plan on switching anytime soon. Hopefully I can get some good videos for you guys this season. Good luck to you buddy!

I've been fishing all my life but I'm just now getting into the real technicalities of it (different rod and reel types, different types of line, etc.). Can you tell me why you change split rings on crankbaits and jerkbaits and stuff? Is it because factory ones rust more easily or are weaker?
The reason I have changed split rings out recently was to add bigger hooks. If I up size my hooks and they just tangle I will down size my split rings to get the room I need. Some stock ones are pretty good, but for the ones that are not I swap them out. Another reason I do it is to just add a little weight to make some cranks easier to throw. For jerk baits it's all about how you want the bait to sit, suspend, etc. Adding a bigger split ring or bigger diameter wire or even a second split ring in some cases will help get the right action out of the bait.
