I was a cat fisherman for years before I had my right leg amputated and couldn’t land large catfish. I just started learning bass fishing and I tried a buzz bait for the first time about a week ago and I wasn’t impressed. I thought it didn’t make enough noise in the water compared to the Whooper Plopper and the Choppo. I have caught two bass on the Plopper but nothing on the buzz bait but I don’t blame the buzz bait because the bite stopped shortly after the first week of July.
I like the buzbait bite as well but my bass don't explode on them like they do a hollow belly frog for some reason. 🤷♂Still fun to catch them usually the fall bite here is a killer time for the buzzbait so its not far away. 😁
Im a huge buzzbait guy and id have to disagree with "most" fish a soft plastic trailer over skirt lol its maybe 50/50 these days. Ive caught all my pb bass on a skirted buzzbait without any trailers. Actually have less luck and casting distance with a soft plastic trailer over a skirted bizzbait. Never do all that fan or antenna thing that just wears out a bizzbait lol. Crimp the rivet yes i agree, take a small file and barely rough the rivet and blade contact points. It will squeal then and not wear out the blade or wire like those other things do. Greenfish makes a good buzzbait i think others they have are better than that one though.

Oh I agree any line works with a buzzbait. But I use 40lb braid with no issues.
