I also had a similar experience when i went to collect my passes on day 1. They only passed me one pass and said they will only pass the other one when my boothmate is here. So then i said i wasn’t sharing the booth. They said “yeah but both of you need to be here”. Then im like ??? “But im not sharing the booth shouldn’t i get the 2 default pass.” They said “Your helper needs to be here.” so i gestured to my mum who standing at the side waiting for me to collect the passes (she wasn’t in the line with me). Only then they finally gave me the two passes. 😂

The difference was my friend wasn't with me when I first arrived, so I had to literally usher in my friend at a separate time because of their uptight policy. If this was it, I wouldn't have minded as much. Little did I know, the day 2 incident would happen, as told through my own experience in the video. Haiz 😓

@@Tsukimiyasharu Other than that string of connected incidents, I do think that my overall of my EOY experience was neutral-positive. The other two commonly cited issues that I have heard from other creators were the loud music and poor sales - but otherwise varied case by case. If it was my own isolated experience, I would have let the matter slide, but it is very unprofessional and unacceptable when it was to this extent. Hopefully, this would be something the organisers can review and prevent from happening in the near future.

Sad to hear that the staff were so distrusting of the artists ;__; I hope they do better at keeping tabs and records of artists in the future and I hope anonymous tipper is doing ok ;_; I rly do understand their paranoia esp cos so many ppl (myself included oops) have abused the pass system before to get ppl in but at the same time, I rly do think it's also on the organizers to also keep track of these things on their side before making claims like that ;; It is also a lesson to the rest of us to stop abusing this privilege as well. As for sales, I'm glad you did well! Honestly I was a bit worried when you told me you signed up for EOY cos I was aware of how badly the date clashed with other well-known events, CF being the biggest one as a lot of SG congoers go there as a special trip every year. I also felt that the booth price and ticket entry were quite steep considering that my experiences at EOY (esp earnings wise) have always felt subpar and not really at the level I would expect from an event charging those prices. So honestly glad to hear that regular channel viewers went to support you!!!!! I haven't signed up for any conventions in 2025, mostly just recharging and focusing on other things but hope to see you at Doujima! Will probably go and get some stuff from you hehe (pls let me pay)

I hope you and Andrew have a good rest during the holidays~ I am pretty exhausted myself because instead of having time to rest, I spent 5 days straight visiting households, and the nights in between were used to edit this video haha. Ya, I agree with you that many of us are probably guilty at one point in trying to sneak unrelated people in. I would have preferred EOY for starters, to price their extra helper pass reasonably, and not made them so obscenely high, especially when compared to the general 2-days tickets. Looking back, we really went through a rough patch of events, especially when all the long-running events implemented weird stuff or simply took a step backward. I haven't signed up for any big local events this year; Skipping Doujima and DDAM too. I will go visit your table though, so see you there!

I wanted to join EOY artist alley but thankfully I had to work so I wasn't able to join. All i heard was nothing but horrible experiences amongst friends for the event and the amount of complains increases every single year. Having doubts if I should even apply for it this year. 😩
If you do consider signing up for EOY, there will be some caveats which you should take note of: - You are able to tolerate the constant barrage of loud noises throughout the event time (or pray you get a table far from the stage). Or get earplugs. - If you are an original-only (or craft) creator, I would recommend signing up for Public Garden instead. EOY demographic is more anime/game-focused. - Try to share a table to split the cost as it is not exactly cheap, plus you get a partner to suffer together during down time haha. Applies to all other events as well
