Wanna add a few thoughts hehe, CSF technically isn't the first event that AFA has tried the July slot for. Last year, they had Anime Matsuri which iirc was also in July though not at the end of the month I think? That event was in Downtown East D'Marqee so there was a lot lesser booths as a result but I want to say that the sales at that event was better compared to CSF. Which brings me to my next point. While location and ticket price were definitely factors in the low turnout + overall sales for most people, I believe there were also 2 other factors, quantity of booths and general event burnout. Similar to Doujima, this event had more than 300 booths and I think once the number starts to reach that high, it spreads the wallets of eventgoers extremely thin so most people would rely on catalogues they have alr seen online to plan their spending and many people don't even bother to walk around the entire area because there's just too many booths. From what I heard, some ppl reported earning more at Cosfest at Gardens by the Bay despite it's extremely out of the way location because there were only 20 booths, so not much competition. The second being event burnout. I think a big reason why AFA november tends to do so well is because it and EOY are the only events that occupy the 2nd half of the year (besides September Artcade). I think we've alr had 5-6 events within the first half of the year alone so everyone's money has alr been stretched thin as well as possibly physical exhaustion, so it could possibly add another reason. This is just my speculation from observation haha! But either way, I also want to say that having 40% of your sales be from your original stuff is actually pretty good and I think you should have more confidence in yourself! AFA's steep prices are definitely gatekeeping lesser known artists but I believe that your quality is alr p up there, also I've seen how you talk with the customers and you have a very friendly personality that makes it easy to garner support from people you just met! I believe you can definitely do well and super excited to see what else you will come up with! Hope to see you at future events too :D

Ya I didn't expect to be boothing alongside you again; the funny thing was Facebook recently did a memory throwback for me, and it was a picture of us + alche boothing at Downtown East in 2015 >.< I didn't know about the Anime Matsuri one! Was that a one-time thing? I would have preferred they carried on with that, instead of renaming it to Creators Super Fest as I felt that tagging the AFA brand didn't help one bit with the traffic. It is so sad that even the Downtown East venue generated more sales as compared to CSF though. Your extra points really made a lot of sense. I am in the camp of having more booths is never a bad thing, because it draws in the crowd. But for CSF, it may just very well be too many booths as like you said, it spreads the spending too thin at this point. The poor, unbalanced layout also didn't help I guess, resulting in certain areas being more popular - like the basic creators section, while other parts of the hall were much less traversed. Confusing booth numbering as well, making it easy for visitors to miss out some booths entirely. Yeah, the event fatigue might be a bigger (and serious) issue than I thought. As of writing this post, there are at least two artist alley happening this weekend (tomorrow): Illustrations Art Festival and Cosfest at Downtown East. Incidentally, I did booth at Cosfest at Gardens by the Bay; the sales was abysmal for me but at least the rental was a lot more manageable (plus I was sharing). The ticket admission was also $23 pax, and I had noticed most of the cosplayers and visitors ended up not going into the artist hall, but hang around outside - because outside = free and it's Gardens by the Bay anyway haha. The amount you pay for is just to see the artist booths + a very tiny performance stage, hardly much of an incentive to be throwing $23. Thank you for the much needed confidence boost though, Mints! For AFA though, I think I will just stick to being a visitor for now. The hurdle is still too high for me to handle, especially by myself; I need to form a party of my own haha. But really thankkkk you so much for dropping this valuable comment~

But they did invite local cosplayers + ZEA and 2 HoloIDs were there (kobo's batch mates Im sorry I cannot rmb their names rn) for event highlights! If you do go to AFA november, I'd be excited to see your vlog about it because I do want to know what goes on inside due to the recent changes in booth rules, I probably won't be getting a ticket in U__U

I think you can look forward to that AFA Nov footage. I will like to see how the crowd turnout compares to this CSF (same year, no more post-covid hunger for events) and also the layout for the artist alley.
@@kuehmerlion D'Marquee might be an exception location wise because it's alr a yearly tradition to go there for cosfest so maybe people were ok with going there? It was also the event where Anime Matsuri, Cosfest Harbourfront and Artcade were happening on the exact same weekend, though now that you mention post-covid con hunger, that might be why ppl were ok with travelling here and there (heard some ppl went to all 3...sheesh!). Thanks for being sooo transparent with the whole event and process! It’s definitely helpful to other artists who are considering the event, especially if you’re like me and wanted to see how the first run of CSF went before committing to it the next time 😊 It’s always gonna be an experiment when you have new products or a new event… good learning experience! 😊
Well this is a very good and amazing vlog as I went to AFA Creators Super Fest on Saturday for the first time going to a convention. 😊 Some viewpoints are very true as it may be far from location and yes cost is expensive. Cool thing is, I passed by your booth which looks awesome 😎👍.

Hi! For AFA CSF 23, it was $594 for both days, including tax. This was for the mid-tier pricing table that comes with a wall backing. Most artist alleys in Singapore tend to be priced cheaper, but given the scale (and branding) of AFA, it is what it is.

I didn't know about the Anime Matsuri one! Was that a one-time thing?
