Had to test those immediately! Found out if you turn one row of those watertanks on top of the platform in the same direction as those underneath, you can fit one more tank up there! Great designs though.
The most challenging is (for me) the food industry district for Ironteeth. The different footprints, and especially the weird footprint of the 1x3 building are a nightmare to combine in a space saving way. You are the best person to make a video about those!
It'll be outdated for update 3 though as the large warehouse has been completely redesigned (now it's a 3 x 2 building unlike the old version which was an upside down T shape).
I just start this game and has no clue how to build the second floor. They need a tutorial on this, instead of relying on TH-cam content creators. You are a professional.
one mistake i frequently see is that people build storage for EVERYTHING. You only need storage for things you can't make fast enough or can't use fast enough. Two examples are food and water because there's a run at them in the evening. You'll never need to store wheat on irrigated fields as you can literally use the field itself as storage. You'll never need to store intermediate products because they come and go at a steady rate anyway.
1:40 I would do it way differently. Iron teeth have it easier to make vertical stuff, but if you give yourself one more square for width, you can put 3 small storage in there instead of platforms (I believe you end up with 1 row of platforms on lowest floor) and 2 storage in the middle of it as well, on higher floors in path/storage/path/storage pattern. they become great to store edibles, which make it all faster to eat, drink and go to sleep. I would also make stairs from the sides instead, as you want the shortest paths possible long spiral is not the best. about water storage, that's a nice main tank, I would only mention to people that adding some distributed ones will shorten walking for thirsty beavers, so leave some random tanks here and there as well. Oh, and land is premium so if you have resources, build over your lake. Doing it all over the river gives you like 50 extra trees. they always walk to "closest free" so if you have 20 that want to drink at once, some of them walk for ages.
you can build couple platforms and 2 of those 6x1 bridges facing each other and steps to get to that height and you can use all the space under the bridge for farming instead of it being just a useless road... (depending on height you can even have trees grown under the bridges) also you can explode a ditch and build power shafts inside and platforms on top and place a road over it AND you can fill the space with water to make the green areas bigger (even if there is that trick with the 4 blocks and dumping water in the middle) also building stuff on top of platforms standing on top of the water especially water pumps and farms is a nice trick... also you can build over the whole river section and just have couple platforms and bridges to over the pumps instead of having a gap to build a road over
@@itszeeeti As soon as I get dynamite that's my priority - and I do everything over water as much as possible so I can grow more food and wood on land. In my current city, all my production buildings are on platforms above the 2 deep water storage area. Seems to work really well.
Update breaks a lot of my more efficient designs. no more power transfer through storage. Folktales housing is in the water for most of my builds till I have a system in place for mid-game. Then in late-game pop goes to zero when the machines take over... BA DUM DUM DUMDUM
Big changes were made in Update 3 of Timberborn and some designs don't work anymore. Updated video th-cam.com/video/Qeu4i4CjC3w/w-d-xo.html

How did I miss that? Nice find 🙂
For the midgame ou can improve the lodge by digging one deep for the base. That way you forgo the first layer of platforms and stairs.
Thats a very good tip, Thanks

I agree. Ironteeth farming is difficult. Will see what I can do
loved the 3rd one in particular - thanks!
Me too. It's very useful and compact

That is changed in Update 3. Now every warehouse can only store one thing. Seems to be working pretty well
quick and efficent. nice one thx!
Glad it helped!
Great builds!
Thank you :)
Wellcome back to the timberborners in todays video we are watching an engineer at work do do do do
And I’m the 101 subscriber
hahaha i love RealCivilEngineerGaming :D Thank you and welcome
@@itszeeeti :D ; )
1st apartment design only needs one space foot path in between. You can create a 1x4 space spiral staircase that is more efficient.
1x4 spiral staircase? Thats sounds impossible
I do agree. 2*2 spiral staircase is better.
The housing can be made slightly more efficient by adding two lodges to the bottom floor
Thats smart! Didnt think of that :)

So many great tips. Thanks man! And i never thought about building on water. Thats so clever.
I can tell this channel is gonna blow up
OMG Thanks you so much. It means a lot to hear that ❤️❤️
If you use the double lodge as a 3 wide x 2 high, you get the same # of beavers for less wood.
Good idea!
Do you have any unique or efficient building design?

I thought it was an Real Civil Engineering video when i saw the title 😂😅😅😊😂
hahaha Do what the best does lol
Do you have designs for Update 3? Your water storage & bread factory don't work on Update 3.
I didn't check if designs work in update 3 yet. Will do an update soon
I like to build my pumps and tanks over water. Especially if I can dynamite down so it's 2 deep for the folktails.
That's clever! I should start doing that

Planning to do a playthrough?
For now im going to do tutorials and information videos. Might do playthrough later when we have more stuff in the game.

There are some big changes in Update 3 and I'm sure you can find creative ways to fix them.
