Happy 4th friends. Anyone else hunkering down with their dogs like us? Kobe doesn't do well with fireworks 💥🐶😳
Our dog Keyser actually throws up with all the fireworks 🥺
Yup--have to start our Border Collie on her sedative with breakfast this morning and continue through the next few days. Fireworks going off all around us. Thankfully our GSDs are okay with loud noises.
Staying home with the 3 pups today! Enjoying my Flips coffee ☕️ this morning as well! Thank you - special hugs for the bean-man ❤ thank you for loving on this tiny one! 🇺🇸🎆🇺🇸🐾🐾🐾
My dog wouldn't even go out to go party last night. So we definitely hide
@@rockykanaka no fireworks here in the UK, but we are electing a new government!
I think he is absolutely missed by someone...the little paw lift is a habit from being scooped up and carried and he melts right into the carry position. He was/is someone's world.
Our baby did that too! She hated the rain, even a slight drizzle. She lifted the paw to indicate she WOULDN'T be walking...Bichon Frise.
Is he neutered? I don't think so, that may have caused him to roam. I hope he is missed and loved like he should be.

They found his family in the end. Didn't you watch till the end?
@@existenz001guilty as charged😊. Thank you so much for that information. He is a little sweetheart!
15 years ago, I rescued a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix. He was a little sack of bones, with all his ribs, hip bones, shoulder blades showing. His name was Peanut. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge around Memorial Day. He was about 5 weeks shy of his 17th birthday. He was a great companion for my elderly husband until he passed in 2020. And the next 4 years, he was my buddy even though he missed his "daddy" a lot.
If you have a chance to name a little dog Peanut, it is a great name for a special little guy.
That is a great name. I’ve had rescue Chis named “Banjo,” “Shippo” and “Ladybug.” 😊
🥺I had a little chihuahua mix named Peanut, too. He passed a few weeks before your sweet Peanut. I’m so sorry for your loss
I have a chihuahua/ corgi and she puts her paw up when theres treats I have learned that means MORE..and hurry!
I don't think he's a Chihuahua, although I get why people would mistake him for one.. I have several Prague ratters & Russkiy toys (they originated in Russia as rodent hunters) & he is identical to a couple of mine, so I'd almost bet he is one of them.. (if only I could figure out how to send photos with this msg to show you..) but it'd be cool to check into it, don't you think, just to be sure what he really is for his sake?? They are some of the most awesome companion dogs ever- fiercely loyal, extremely sweet & loving.. just the best, in my opinion!! They also have these cute little quirks that are very significant to their breed (please research on them- they are so fascinating!!). Thank you..
Your name is Chisholm, where are you from?
I’m SO glad Louis went home- PLEASE indulge us by letting us know he is ❤️loved❤️ and his people were looking for him?!?
Where I used to live a stray Chi showed up. It took me weeks to catch it, as it was so scared. No collar, no chip, not claimed. I got her cleaned up, healthy and happy and she was adopted out and has been living a good life ever since.
There was another little stray Chi I rescued off a busy street where he was in danger of being run over while trying to eat some food trash. He was very fearful and trying to threaten and bite me, til I had him in my car, and then he melted and just wanted to be cuddled. He also got cleaned up, fostered and adopted.
Thank you for rescuing the Chihuahuas. They are so sweet and loyal. So cuddly. And they are fierce when protecting their family. But they are so scared when they don’t have a person. I’ve had Chihuahuas all of my 60 plus years. ❤
Thank you, you lovely soul❣️🌺

You are a kind beautiful person, thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I adopted a stray Chihuahua 5 years ago and ADORE everything about him. Thank you for doing Chihuahua Rescue, they own you if you open your heart to one. ❤

Big dogs, small dogs...they're all dogs. Thank you for loving them all!
Chihuahua's have the biggest personality and are one of the most affectionate breeds. What a good boy. 😍
The little Chi in that video above really shows how affectionate they are!! 😂😂😂 I love chihuahuas though. I grew up with them bc my dad loved them ❤

My grandfather was a wounded WWI veteran, he was 6 foot tall and scared the crap out of everybody. He loved chihuahuas.
My 2nd Chi rescue just had surgery yesterday. He was hit by a car and a good Samaritan scooped him up and took him to the vet. He had so much damage that his right hind leg had to be amputated. He had so much love in him, He hasn't left me side since I got him June 30. I completely lost it when I saw the surgical site. This little guy has been through so much it wrecked my soul to know that no one even reported him missing. I am his forever family now, he will never be forgotten again,
Well done for rescuing a second Chi, especially with injuries, poor pup. It's lovely to know he has such a loving caring forever home with you. Best wishes to you all. 🐾🐾💕💕💕💕
They seem like very loyal and smart dog.
We just rescued a 1 year old black mouth cur about 55 pounds. He was found running around my husband’s plant. He was giving us kisses from the first moment that we picked him up and he was in good condition so we figured he just escaped. We had to hold him for a day because intake was full and he managed to behave himself with our 18 yr old chihuahua mix and spicy senior cat. We brought him to the shelter because we figured he had to have a family missing him. The animal control guy was getting a tongue straight to his brain via his ear when he picked him up😂. The officer told me that it actually was really common to see super sweet and loving dogs, one, because they aren’t afraid of people but also because people can’t meet the demands of having them. That seemed so sad to me that it was the dogs who most need a loving home who wind up in the shelter.
We waited until his hold was up and took him because we knew he already got along with our pack and because we didn’t want to leave him there. It has already paid us back with our senior dog getting a little more pep in his step.
Healing and homes for all animals in need. Blessings and abundance for those helping them. 🙏👑💙💙💙🍀🌈💲
This makes me smile.
Truly, This is the best moment. When they jump on your lap for a snuggle. You have gained his trust. Well done sir. ❤❤❤
He's been with people. So alert. And likes the treats more than the food.
Maybe cause the treats are from his hands.
That dog's ears are the among the best I have ever seen. If I was near this shelter I would not be able to resist.
Me also. That dog is precious and very special.

What an adorable sweet boy. He’s so hungry. Hope someone takes him to a loving home very soon🐶Breaks my heart he’s there.
She's a speed painter and does digital. Wow. All her prints are so good. 🔥 😊
So happy Louey went home with his family !
How sweet. He stops shaking while you r next to him. 🙏🙏🙏
These are good dogs for seniors and it’s clear that he has had love and attention. It makes me wonder if he may have lost his owner and is just lost both literally and emotionally.
I cringe everytime I see thise videos of someone buying their elderly parent a puppy. Get they want a pet, but a puppy takes a lot of energy out of you. These dogs usually come pottyntrainwd and would make a wonderful companion and be a great comfort a lot more than a puppy. They still bind strongly.
I lovely chihuahuas.
Don't they out live their owners.
@@cheryllyall7217 it happens. Sometimes the owner has to go into a nursing home. Luckily, this little guy just got lost and they found his family.

But he didn’t snarl or growl. Nice dog.

Anybody that calls that little guy a "rat" doesn't know what a stud looks like :-) He's going to do great things. I usually avoid small dogs cuz of the potential biting & gravitate towards large sporting dogs with big ears and long noses. I believe this boy could hold his own.
Yeah, Wiggles! So Happy For You!
He looks like he could fly away with those huge, cute ears
Bat ears :)
My little guy has ears like that. He is part chi. We named him Othello and Otie for short. We didn’t connect, until we went to the vet and saw an ad for Oti-rinse that we had literally named him ears😂 because oti- is the Latin prefix.

OMG. That portrait drawing is so amazingly beautiful. It enhanced that moment between Rocky and the dog.
I'm drinking my Flips coffee while watching this episode. So glad Louie was reunited with his family!!
What a precious little angel 😇. Who could have left this little man? If I lived closer, my 3 boy's would grow into 4.😢
O my goodness what a precious baby. I’ve had chihuahuas all my 62 years. I love them.
I have three Chihuahuas (I had four, but recently lost my sweet little Joey of 16 years) and yes, they absolutely bond to their people. This sweet little fellow broke my heart. I know how devoted they are to their people and how hard this must be on him. I want nothing more than to sweep him up and bring him into our home. He's going to make someone a sweet, loyal and devoted friend. I'm absolutely in love. And yes, if you would consider naming one of your furry kids Joey, it would mean the world to us.
I love this little guy! Chihuahuas are my favorite. We used to have 3 and all have passed from old age. The raised paw is totally a Chihuahua things as is the shaking. Not sure if he has found a forever home but I would love to put my name in the hat of taking care of this sweet dog.
Edit: I’m so happy his family was found. I pray they take the time to always make sure they know where he is. Best wishes Louie!
Hi, this is my third video. I’m so happy I came across your channel a few days ago. I was recently blessed with a moderate monthly pension, and I wanted to be part of something special with making a donation to a cause. Soooooo, on that note, I joined just a few minutes ago. Happy to be a part of your group. Bless you all. I just love your care and demeanor with these pups. Love cats too! Best of luck on your continued success and much love to all.
How wonderful he was reunited with his family. I hope he’s happy and loved.
It good owners, no collar, no tags,
probably no chip. I would never return him to people like that.
If they were careless with him once, they will be careless again.🙏🏻😢✝️
Not good owners
@annebalderston2520 ... Oh PLEASE! it's JULY...other idiots are still setting off fireworks! He looks happy & healthy. Don't be so "holier then thou"...
@annebalderston2520 If he slipped his collar he would not have any ID and not everyone can afford to microchip. A nonprofit should offer to help that family pay for a chip though.
@@annebalderston2520 I agree that all dogs should be wearing collar and tags but the owners probably thought he was chipped. They said in the video that he was adopted from the shelter and that the shelter had microchipped him before he was adopted and that maybe the chip had failed.
He’s adorable. Personal experience - Chihuahuas are the most loving dogs.❤️
Him chomping his food warms my heart. ❤
Seeing him reminds me of the tiny black Chihuahua I rescued from my neighbors yard after her dog attacked him. People in the neighborhood said he ran with some other dogs but no one knew who he belonged to. Local dog pound could take him but he wouldn’t get medical attention for three days. I told him I would tend to his wounds. If no one put up a sign looking for him, he would be mine. Two weeks later I had him chipped and vaccinated. He has been with us for 5 years now and I just adore him.
Thank you for all you and your wife do for these animals. You are a blessed man who knows how to pay it forward.
Happy 4th of July. 🎆🎇🥰
Bless you
Thank you!! Precious little one saved by you.
He is an absolute doll. Our little Spark we are thinking was caged his entire life before we rescued him as a therapy dog. He definitely comes to “Hey you!”… works every time. I absolutely love your work. You are an inspiration to ALL dog lovers/animal lovers worldwide. I agree with your therapy… sitting even lying down with dogs immediately chills them as they are no longer intimidated if we lie down. They’ll come start licking/loving you.❤
Wiggles was telling you he needed to do his business, he was wanting to go over that metal strip but was afraid, he didn't want to go on his bed.
That is what I was thinking.
Me too. He also was holding up his back foot on the side that you couldn’t see, Rocky. I don’t think that is a very common thing for a dog to do.
This lil dog would make a great pet. It is a good sign that he has a hearty appetite. I know Wiggles will get adopted by great people
Watch the end of the video. The owners claimed him.
He looks like our little “Spark” therapy dog. God bless you for loving his creatures.
Love those ears. Whoever gets him is truly going to have a wonderful companion.

My boss's dog was my experience with a chihuahua. He came to the office every day and ran the place until 5. Let me tell you, a well fed chihuahua can eat its weight in food! Our rule was do not feed Juan! If a donut was on the desk, it would disappear and one day the little thief ate my entire deli sandwich! Loved that little guy and he helped me compile training manuals daily. Just so you know, Louie was not all that hungry. VERY glad they were able to reunite him with his family as they are truly loyal.
All of your videos have hit my heart. This one in particular brought me to tears. He looks so much like my Gracie Pearl. She was my prize possession because I was given her due to my grandma's passing in 2012. I went into a severe depression and my brother somehow knew it would be my lifesaver. And she was. It's unfortunate she passed in April of 2017. I've gotten another Chihuahua/Border Collie mix named Rugar born the exact same day my Gracie Pearl died. Hence my favorite breed of dog is a Chihuahua now. God bless you for everything you do.
He's so little. Sweet baby.

My experience with chihuahuas is that they think of themselves as a prince or princess. They’re very adamant about what they like and dislike. They love being pampered. He’s such a cutie and I’m so happy he was able to go back home with his family.
It’s difficult not to feel bad for the little guy when he was shaking. Being in an unfamiliar place and not knowing what’s going to happen to him. He was precious. I love the name Louie. Perfect for a Prince.
Chihuahuas just shake. It can be from cold, fear, excitement, just about anything. My son has 2 and they are constantly shaking. They do better with a sweater, or a blanket they can curl up under. Cute little stinkers, but I love the big dogs.
Mine also thought he was 6 feet tall and weighed 450 lbs. The only 2 things that scared him were coyotes and Akitas.
He's a deer chihuahua. The long legs and ears and the contoured body look like a white tail deer that is what that breed was named after. I have an apple head. Short ears, short legs an body is less contoured with a dome head with a much shorter "stop" and muzzle.
@@cindyevans9560 A slight correction; it's deer head as opposed to apple head

Our sweet chihuahua of 13 years passed away Easter morning from congestive heart failure. She was my husband's dog. She never took her eyes off him. She was always with him. Everywhere he went. She wouldn't let me near him. We would be honored if you named a dog after her. Her name was Hazel. She was brown with a dark brown stripe down her back. She had a white lightening strip up her face. She had Hazel eyes. We miss her so much! 😢 God will bless you for what you are doing.
You have a beautiful smile, but in the animal kingdom you are baring your teeth. And most dogs don't like your face close to their face. They would rather you sniff their butt's. 😅
I am so sorry for your loss.... Hazel sounds like she was a blessing..... I'm very sure she loved you just as well...... God bless you all...
My dog does not like cuddles and would hate to be scooped up. He likes you to kneel down and make noises, then he’ll lay down next to you. Just saying not all dogs like to be scooped.
😢 I have one and she's my BF, I'm very sorry for your loss.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Chihuahua of 13 years last year so i feel this. She was my dad's dog but i was there holding her paw until her last breath.

When I was in The country, I always worked the 4th (double time!) because noise from the fireworks was far away. Now I’m back in the city, and the fireworks are on my street. I need to be home with my dogs now, so I had to give up working the 4th. A few months ago my furnace died, so when I replaced it, I decided to get central air as well. Not only are my Shih Tzu and Boston Terrier much happier on 90 degree muggy days, but I can keep all windows and doors closed this 4th, muffling the noise. My dogs’ comfort and happiness is most important to me.
He is adorable! My girlfriend just rescued a chi mix & she’s beautiful! Now I want one! I’m 71 so would prefer an older one. I live in an apartment.
I have 2 chihuahuas and they are so confident around other people, and dogs. They’ll go up to anyone who will give them treats. And boy do they know the “treats” word!
I’m trying to understand why Louis’family didn’t report him as missing? Obviously had been missing for awhile; skinny, hungry, long nail, etc. it just bothers me. That tiny baby should have been reported missing everywhere in the area. 😊
Animal Control did a full investigation before returning him.
Exactly
Skinniness doesn't always mean starved. I know a chihuahua mix that the owner fed double recommended amount and he stole from his twin and he always showed ribs. Long nails is often a sign of either long quicks or not enough walking on rough surfaces to grind the nails down, which many people don't walk their tiny dogs enough to keep the nails short. If the quicks are long it's dangerous to cut the nails short and causes a lot of discomfort.
If he was gone for only a day or two, the owners might've thought him hiding, got locked up somewhere or doing a canvas before calling the pounds, or thought that since he was chipped that if he was picked up they would be called because that is the purpose of those things.
Rocky …. You make me happy….hearing you talk to the ‘beautiful ones’ ….bless you for all you do

My husband and I lived in Slidell Louisiana during Hurricane Ida and the day after the hurricane our road was impassable barely walkable but this little adorable light brown Chihuahua not quite as big as this little guy came running up to me soaking wet managing to evade the alligators that were going up and down our road and just jumped up into my arms. We tried for weeks to find his owner, putting up Flyers, social media posts called shelters and vets in the area, checked for a microchip but we never found the owner so we decided to keep him ourselves. We had recently had to put down my German Shepherd of 12 Years and that broke the whole family but our Peanut Butter filled the whole a little bit and if I could take this little guy I would in a heartbeat. Thank you for doing what you do.
I have a chi puppy that size I adopted from a rescue in February 2013. She was 2 pounds when I got her. She will be 13 on November 11. She was spayed too early and has all kinds of joint issues.especially her knees and curved spine. She had surgery 2 years ago on her neck to attach the bone and ligaments together using screws and bonding. The surgeon in Gainesville Florida did an excellent job, because she became completely paralyzed. She’s able to walk now. He said all her issues are from her being spayed too little and too young and her growth hormones stopped developing because of being spayed too young. I love her to death. That dog reminds me of my dogs demeanor.
