48:16 place sheets of honeycomb like in the picture, not a cylinder of honeycomb. (heaxons tile flat, there is no hexagon cube ball cylinder, pyramid, cone, just honeycomb sheets, because hexagon means 2D.)
Also add bump/normal maps to your materials.
The Hobbist using Kubo and the Two Strings reference is good. The BTS also show Kubo sliding on the ground, so that could be valuable reference if he uses the sliding animation.
I feel like there are some issues with UE's templates. When you try to replace some characters or Retarget animations, there is a certain chance that the animations won't completely match the original characters. It's possible that the last post will deviate quite a bit. It all depends on luck, which is really a bit strange. But I think this should be within the rules of the competition.

Can I use multiple animations from the provided animations for my Project??
Hey, I am having trouble getting the animations to switch in unreal engine. The only animation that works is a run sequence. The animation that works has a running forward visual. The ones that don't work seem to have a visual of a figure running sideways. All of the animations dispelled in his tutorial for unreal engine has animations where the manny is running forward. Does anyone have a potential solution?

No, you just need to download the template. And yes,you need to submit your animation by sep 1. Not sep 2 so you are sure you are accepted

Is there a MAX template? Absolute rookie in blender and just starting to learn it with this here challenge. My DAZ to BLENDER toon imports, but it takes away the challenge template animation. Need help... I wish could be done in max.

He said in one of previous live, basically first impressions, visual appearance, then they go deeper into like just overall story, design, etc. You can watch his previous judging lives and see how they react and what they like

I created, exported and textured my meta human. I need help on attaching my model to rig. Any video suggestions?
I had this same problem with my daz character and was able to attach it to the armature by using the free rokoko addon. You have to create an account and then you can target the mocap and use your character's armerture as target. Hope this helps
Zeus Creates has a great youtube tutorial on retargeting animations that should work for you

I'm someone with 0 knowledge and experience. Can someone with experience tell me the softwares I need to be able to submit something from zero. I have blender installed in a MacBook pro 2019. Is it good enough or do I need a better machine?
Do I also need to install unreal engine?
To be honest, I would suggest you learn Blender or Houdini basics and stop thinking about this challenge for now. You dont need that pressure while learning the basics of 3d or vfx. Try watching beginner Tutorials and eventually create some artworks.
Then after a few month take part in the next challenge Clint organizes. Happy learning!

Blender is actually good enough, it can do everything. Id suggest watching blenderguru’s tutorial videos his videos are easy to learn for beginners
