I bought socks, base layer and jersey (m2 Colorado) from Siroko. I'm very happy with the jersey, super comfortable and I love the shiny materials they use. Base layer is comfy, but extremely easy to rip at the bottom. Sock sizing makes no sense, mine are way too big and long. Best thing about Siroko are their prices in my opinion.

I have enjoyed the kit i have purchased from Siroko, I hope they keep on improving. Their sizing chart could use some help just to make it easier to know what size to buy. For the price of the kit its a good deal IMO. I have other kit from Castelli, Pactimo, and Siroko I wear them all.

I've started out with some of castelli gear, and am now getting into siroko and gore as well. I like diversity, and haven't ever known 1 company to be the one and only, as competition is good for innovation. Rapha I find to be on the elite cost spectrum, like buying from Gucci, or some other fancy one off designer's. I can't see dishing out $250+usd on just a jersey! That's not to say I won't spend hundreds of dollars on quality gear, but I'm not going to spend it, unless I know I can try it out first at those prices. If I can get similar stuff for cheaper, than why not right. I enjoyed the video, and the opinions in regards to one of the new brand's, I am testing myself. Thanks 👍

Mainly due to this review I bought some clothes and I must say I am well surprised. The M2 jersey’s are really well quality and do fit perfectly. It is cheap and good looking. I don’t think I will buy expensive brands anymore. If you buy a shirt like this from expensive brands you pay at least 2 or maybe 3 times the price. For bibshorts I rely on the common brands because I know these are good and not that more expensive. About SRX, I think it is nice but most of the times too thin for me, I think you can only use it when it is warm and Holland is most of the times pretty cool. I will try a jacket as well as they are also priced very well. Thanks for the very complete review, it saved me a lot of money. Or actually, it costs me a lot as I bought a lot haha.

Hi Jasper, yes again a question about sizes ;) I'm considering a J1 jacket and I'm in a dilemma between size M and L :( I'm 180 cm, 88 cm in the hips, 80 waist and 100 chest and 75 kg weight. Which size would you recommend? I'm thinking if a size L would be too big / loose for me but also not sure if an M would be too tight / small. Although from what you say the jacket is warm and just wear a baselayer under it.

Hey Jasper.. Big fan. Great vid. 1 simple question. Are the long sleeve siroko jerseys as effective on your arms as wearing a short sleeve jersey with arm warmers? I know you said by wrist might be a bit wider than warmerers which grabs wrist but I coukd get tailored. How about the tjicknes/warmth? Or not as effective as arm warmers? Thanks

    • @jasperverkuijl
      @jasperverkuijl  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

They are thinner than the insulated arm warmers but thicker than the sunscreen arm warmers.

Hey Jasper, I am looking into the SRX bibshorts at the moment. And I was wondering why you find the Pro Elite a bit more comfortable than the World Series? Can you elaborate on that a bit more? Is it because the World Series have more compression? Or is it something else?

    • @jasperverkuijl

They are really almost the same. But the World Series doesn’t have an extra seam stitch at the bottom part of the leg. The legs are from one piece which looks nice. I have the idea the compression may be slightly less.
They now have the BX bibs in colors and those seem to be very good as well with proper compression. Slightly cheaper and I can’t say they are less good than the SRX at the moment. (They are probably my favorite currently)

I purchased the SRX bib short through your youtube link. I love the shorts BUT: they were too big for me and trying to exchange clothing with Siroko is SO DAMNED HARD and EXPENSIVE!.
It took about 2 months to get the right short size. And cost me about $85 US in shipping. And they are very difficult to understand their emails that they send at 2AM my time (EST).
I wish they had a US distributor to make it much easier and more timely to exchange items.

Great review of products Jasper. I used your link and I ordered the SRX Pro World Series bib shorts to give the brand a try. I was so impressed I then ordered the SRX Pro Ardiden Jersey, M2 Riedberg Jersey, V1 Langkawi vest and the K3S Champs Élysées sunglasses. The quality and feel of the Ardiden jersey is awesome. It feels like wearing silk. Downside: after a couple of hand washes the bib shorts have stretched a bit down near the knee area. They don't fit tight anymore at the very ends near the knee. For the full price of €200 the bib shorts need to be improved. I have no idea how you fit into a Medium 😂😂I'm 70kg and 180cm and need the XL jersey size . Overall I definitely recommend Siroko.

I don't have that issue with the stretching of the legs so I don't know how that can happen. Not even after a year of heavy usage.

The quality seems fine and jersey and no shorts are comfortable. The sizing for jerseys seem to run a tad bit big around the waist and neck. But then, I run between a small and a medium, so it’s always a struggle with first time orders with brands.
My ONLY issue is that any water or sweat immediately shows up and discolors the jersey until you wash it again. This means even if you drop something on it, and scrub it off with water, the jersey stays discolored until the next complete wash.

Stitching come undone at the elastic waist band first ride, never washed. Really disappointing because I’ve purchased numerous products from Siroko. Maybe you can help get me in touch with the right person. Used the support on the website and no response. I don’t do social media. Any help would be much appreciated. Keep cycling my friend.

@@jasperverkuijl Thanks for your help. I know you said you mainly wear SRX, but have you for that the SRX and M3 jerseys are cut larger than the M2? I recently bought a M3, it seems longer and loose in the waist area.

These pads are actually found it a lot of brands (the pads are from a big high quality supplier that supplies to the biggest A brands too) ,
But still the rest of the bibs will make a big difference. I have not tried decathlon bibs but of they have the same pad, it doesn't mean the bibs are the same...

@@jasperverkuijl yeah, even 7mesh bibs which are super expensive feature the elastic interface chamois (I own the mk3), though the 8h one. I refer to the most expensive siroko one. Dunno about the cheaper ones. I currently use a santini 8h chamois bib which was 70 bucks (discounted) And the bib is magical. I guess every bum prefers a different chamois.

Sizing is an issue in terms of consistency. I purchased a few hundred USD on bibs/shirts/socks based on online reviews, photo appearance and price as I do other brands. The socks, bibs and long sleeve jerseys fit but the short sleeve jerseys were unusable (way too small). I contacted the company via email (responded in 24 business hours) and exchanging them (Arizona USA) will cost me more that the shirts-not good! The materials, elasticity, and looks are excellent and super thin adhering comfortably; almost like a second skin with high quality zippers and stitching on all articles. Socks fit perfect too. I also really like the logo and modern ethos the company seems to be it going for. My rating... 8 out of 10.

I 💯 agree with the inconsistency of the sizing and I’ve brought this up many many times with my siroko contact. They seem to ignore it which is too bad..
Anyway I’m glad your satisfied with the other items.

I love siroko! I have both styles of jerseys and I really really want to love the srx but the waist for some reason is bigger in the srx than the m2 in the same size. So when my pockets are full it’s sagging and in sprints it slings around everywhere unfortunately 😩

    • @jasperverkuijl
      @jasperverkuijl  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Mmm, maybe because the fabric is a lot thinner and less stiff? Maybe wear the M2 on longer rides when pockets are full with food etc, and the SRX jersey on short ride when you don't need to carry anything else than maybe phone and keys ?🤙

The sizing info for socks is a bit odd, they use the length of the socks not your feet. Love the quality and compression but their smallest size is still about three shoe sizes too large for me. 😭 I’d recommend measuring the length of your foot and then go for the size roughly 4cm shorter.

Super leuk!

I haven't used the clothing but I did get 2 pairs of sunglasses (not cycling-specific) and they both turned out to be defective. Deterioration of lens coating in one, and badly cut lenses in the other pair.. In the end they replaced only one pair (with some pressure on my side), they have pretty bad warranty rules. I'm not buying anything from Siroko again.
