There were times when I was skeptical about this build. Some of the choices for the cart I didn't agree with but seeing it at this stage proves I was wrong. Awesome job guys!
Nope. Those engines are very finicky when it comes to straight exhaust and aftermarket carbs. You kids need to learn some engine knowledge before you spew BS
Those mufflers sound so good. You guys did so well on this. Loud is cool but quiet with speed and just hearing the ground and the wind is like no other. A different world silence is.
@@toddb602 Or just have proper pivots with brass bushings or bearings, make sure it isn't rubbing against the frame, and get rid of the wobble (maybe with springs). Using 2 cables instead of a bar would also be a good idea.
I'm not a mechanic by any means but in 60 years I've learned that even with open headers you need a certain amount of back pressure just to keep the engine running and making horsepower. A great video Guys!!!
You guys really knocked it outta of the park with the cross cart! And now with those mufflers it looks even better! Well done gents! Now, can we either see a hyabusa reverse trike or a go cart rock crawler? PLEASE!!!
Hey!! I used to drive that beloved double-decker bus in London a few years back and the guys at the depot were forever scratching their heads as to why a section had gone AWOL when they woke up for an early morning shift one fine day!! Thanks for enlightening me and solving the big question!!
Why would only one muffler have a catalytic converter in it, and not the other? Those mufflers came off a VTwin, and each bank has its own separate exhaust pipe. It would then need two cats..
This is the best you guys ever did with a project. For one it looks badass, is fast, and you can power drift it. And I can see how it brightens your guys day just talking about it. Great job guys that's an amazing looking machine!
I'M sure Dad is going to be thrilled when he gets home and see's the yard LOL Did the police come pay you a visit or did the mufflers please the neighbors Hope everyone at cars and cameras has a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I had a Honda 350 F that had headers on it and one day I got a wild hair and opened the headers up. Sadly it was loud but ran like crap. Thanks, guys as always I enjoy your videos.
Are y’all going to ignore the ducarti in the background when they went to check the ruts in the ground, I want to see the ducarti again, who all agrees?
I like the way Ike thinks, who needs mufflers? Lol. I agree, merely a recommendation not a requirement lol. Im sure your neighbors appreciate the cross cart purring like a kitten. It would be cool to make an open valve piece to the exhaust that can be opened or closed when you really want to hear all 10 thousand rpms in a less populated area. Also if the fuel tank does get too warm near the exhaust you could always make risers on the base and attach it to the chassis to get it above the mufflers. I don't think it will be necessary but something you should definitely check periodically during longer periods of testing ;) Awesome build, probably my favorite so far.
Gotta love it when you make a project quiet and it doesn't loose any power. Its even better when you GAIN performance! I think a top speed run is in order.
The sock trick a few episodes ago told them that they needed more fuel. Jets are way cheaper than building a new intake. Just saying... And mufflers.... Yall started off so well, and then just forgot the rules of old motorcycles I feel like i should start a youtube channel for the dark arts of carbs. No jet change, no carb balance, like one plug check. Changed the whole system and wonder why they cant figure it out....
exhaust tuning to aid in scavenging the pulses out at a certain rpm range used in high rpm engines like formula and Indy cars, looks like you nailed it! what a sweet note 😃
Do only only one thing at a time plugs , wires exedra it’s the only way do know but it’s much faster to do it all at once and not learn maybe next time ?
I knew it needed some exhaust. a little back pressure goes a long way with those engines. I had an old cb750 and when I straight piped it it never ran right. It bogged and miss fired just like the cross kart. So glad it's doing better.
Everytime you work with these two guys all I can think is, wow owen wilson and will ferrel are so nice to help this kid out with his go kart XD. Love it though you guys always send it super hard, keep doing what you are doing !
I have watched a couple of your videos on the cross kart and have been thoroughly entertained. But gentleman, i have to let you all know, when the big guy screamed like a little girl from the spider crawling up his shoe.. that was the moment i knew i had to click on that subscribe button, hahah. Sincerely, we appreciate what you all do and the hard work that goes into it. And if you ever find yourself in the midst of a shitty day, just build something great around it.. or you could just remember Ike, screaming like a girl at a Justin Bieber concert.
Guys i just want to congratulate you on this fantastic machine youtwo *BUILT FROM SCRATCH* and she is running better than she ever ....oh and thanks for the amazing content too haha take care guys Love From UK
Been saying it for a while that engine wasnt allowed to have the scavenging effect that multi cylinder engines love. Glad to see you put an exhaust on it and I bet if you pulled off the exhaust it would run like crap all over again
Back pressure only helps 2 stokes since the exhaust is open during the start of the compression cycle. With a 4-stroke engine, the valves are all shut during the compression stroke, so you don't need any external pressure to get good compression - the cylinder is effectively sealed. What may have helped is the header you made going into the muffler, a good header will create a vacuum in adjacent cylinders to "suck" the exhaust out so it doesn't need to work so hard to expel the exhaust.
Maybe tying two cylinders together is having an extractor effect? Several different tuners built four into two headers, four into ones( I think those had the best top end but weren't strong out of the hole). Isaac, you said a mouthful- many things were changed at one time. The CB 750 stock came with a two into one on each side, with no crossover, so I;, tempted to think the stock carbs want a good go through and a try- the factory handbooks had the start settings for the adjustment screws. Wow- it lit up and went stealthy! If you leave it not running for any period, I'd be sure to drain any moisture that gets in the pipes out- your mufflers are higher than your exhaust ports.FR
It is now my favorite build. All you guys need is to figure out how to make an accurate speedometer, get slightly bigger back tires, and just slowly upgrade and tinker on it. My old favorites were the Black Widow and the Murray, but now this one is my favorite (other two a very very close 2nd).
I’ll admit it, you guys were right. Thanks for coming along for the ride! Next, quad carbs!
Yes
It's not the mufflers it was the collectors that did it 😎
Always be a favorite channel of mine... Keep up the great work !!!
why u did it to it like that, u just needet to swop your headers side and tunrd them up and it will be les problems and will look better
Now lets see how long it takes you guys to listen with the 2 stroke.......
John's dad: "YER OUTTA HERE!"
John: "Dad, you gotta try this thing."
John's dad: "Okay, you can stay."
some one needs to send grass seed by the buckets full
Considering theres a few dead spots in the yard, probably some shade grass is in order and maybe a yard of black dirt to fill in the burnout ruts.
Yep. And in their latest video they're going full send with two carts around the yard. Seems mom and dad have given their blessing. 👍

I notice Charles is the one checking temps, he seems to be a thinker. I like it when Charles is in charge.

the squeaking noise was the shifting lever by his arm you know the one they used before paddle shifters

I haven't checked out CarsandCameras for a long time. This is by far my favorite build you all have done. Great job
At 8:23 left muffler is smoking a lot more than right as well, seems like more evidence you need balanced carbs?
One of the mufflers has a catalytic converter in it. They need a crossover pipe or they're going to always have that problem
Why would only one muffler have a catalytic converter in it, and not the other? Those mufflers came off a VTwin, and each bank has its own separate exhaust pipe. It would then need two cats..
Gabe Vogel usually the insulation wrap is what makes it smoke like that
Or adjusting the valves
There is alot of flutter from hitting all the baffling in the mufflers but glad y'all got it running better. 👍
Just install cutouts. This way you can have it loud when you want and quiet when you need
I suggested this for the golf cart that disappeared
Thank you guys, it sounds, and runs so much better now with the new 2 into 1 on each side. 😎👍
