I think it’s important. You discuss a couple flaws with the magview. One is that it is fixed in the landscape position and if you want to switch to portrait, you have to loosen the Allen key and readjust the entire adapter. The second is it automatically goes to the one lens on the back of the camera. I know you can switch between the lenses, but it is a pain in the butt.
Use what works best for you. Everyone has an opinion of what they think is best, but at the end of the day, your opinion matters. Great job on the comparison review.
@@ehuntr512 What stops you from not using their app? The magnet or scope mount aren't going to stop working without the app, so why is using your preferred camera app a problem? How does Magview "require" the app for their setup to work?
Magview for me. I change phones too often and it's easier to slap a new magnet on the back of a new phone case.

I use the PhoneSkopeCam app with my MagView. You can use any app you want. I like this app as it locks which lens you are using on the phone.
The magview comes with the plate. You only need to buy more if you need a new one.
