Will, not sure what the best way to reach out to you. I really enjoy your content and have ventured into the realm of battery and solar this year. Maybe you can clear up a couple of things for me. I mounted 2-370W Grape Solar Mono Panels(41V VOC/11.5A ISC) in parallel on the flat roof of my patio. I have them set at the maximum exposure angle where at noon on a cloudless day the dot is dead ctr on my angle finder. I am connected to an Anker F3800 and HPP setup with 8 gauge PV wire at a length of 60 feet. I don't think I've ever seen you do content on Anker products. If that's true, I'd really enjoy seeing you review their stuff. As a reference, I live in South FL and the temps lately have been mild from 77 to 82 degrees. The most watts I've ever produced at noon has been 615W total. Over the course of a clear day, I'm getting about sun for about 6 hrs with an average total kWh of 2.2. Question 1: What's the best way to clean solar panels? Mild soap & water or is Windex okay(with or without ammonia)? Question 2: I've yet to see close to the 740W I should be able to produce with the 2 panels. Is this mfg not the best? I don't believe I'm getting a lot of voltage drop with my 8 gauge wire run. Any ideas? Thanks for your time and keep up the good work.
I just purchased some Canadian solar panels (535w) and hooked one up just to test to my Anker c1000, and the most watts I received was 305 watts In Arizona at 1:00 PM On Dec 20th . So with your comment I figured that this must be about right for this time of year.
So this is Europe, but I bought 280Ah 16S batteries directly from China and imported them myself. It only has 100A BMS, but it was 1150USD plus 450USD shipping, so 1700USD + VAT. Have run them for a month and so far very happy with them for my application where the 50A max charging speed isn't a problem. Otherwise very similar to this Ruixu but without the flashy display. It has a very boring screen, but it has all the basic stuff. Supports Pylontech CAN/RS485 so connected to my Deye inverter first try and BMS communication just worked with master/slave batteries.
dont be sure the rest of the world would not use it against trump we know how to speak his own laungege this time and the record shows when trump did it last time on washing machines the price became higher then the tarrifs he pushed... you cant convert and end up at the same price, that is not how the world works, you always have to add more.. why would he not do what he says. if the briks dont support the doller they get 100% briks countrys will not drop their project making their own replacement of the dollar it is allready done no matter what you are already paying almost double for solar in the states as in EU you are use to it, and you dont see it in the end
@@phhowe17 They need to do what Chinese companies do and run their stuff through middleman countries to make it appear they are made from somewhere else. Just add that "made in Thailand" or wherever stamp on the quick stop and they are good to go. Bingo. Everything is getting cheaper and easier quickly. We have come a long ways from the lv6548 days. I still run 4 SMA sunny islands. Just bought a 12000xp and will switch things up once it’s arrived. Ultimately I want to go totally high voltage like a Sandi 30kw. That’s the future
I've been using my Lithi2-16 to power the majority of my house loads daily since July, paired with a 6000XP. I've not had any issues so far, and it has allowed me to become a net producer of grid power. It's a pretty cool battery for the price.
@martiruda there's not a whole lot more to share, it's running my house circuits without issue. I don't really even think about it much anymore. It's just there, charging and discharging every day. Only when the dishwasher heat cycle kicks on or the tea kettle is used does our house pull more than 1kw, and it seems to handle those situations easily.
Here is a test I would love to see you do on these mega batteries Will. Charge the battery up to 3.55 or 3.65 per cell and see how big a cell delta you get. Then hold it there for a few hours and see how well the balancers do their work. It seems like it would be a good test to see just how good these cells really are and how balanced they were from the factory. Nobody and I mean nobody seems to talk about cell deltas on these batteries or really any other battery for that matter.
Every BMS in Chinese batteries like that without a name on it is made by PACE. Btw, just got a quote from a Chinese supplier for a 300Ah battery similar to that one: 1250Usd wholesale, add 300Usd for the retail price and shipping, so you will get it to most places on this planet for less the 2000Usd. LFP battery price are insane atm...

Would appreciate a breakdown review of those small solar generators by Pecron. I'm looking at the E600LFP specifically. Only interested in the tiny portable context. Glad the house channel has been working for you. I preferred the previous setup, but I like living tiny and hate living in houses. But to each their own :)
I went with the modular ETHOS batteries. The are more expensive but they are outdoor rated, has built in fire extinguishers which doesn't make sense for LifePo4 batteries. It's wall mounted and you don't need a rack. They weigh about 70lbs each and are easier to deploy by yourself. You can order from BigBattery and there was no tax or shipping charges!
It's not recommended to lift sideways with lifting eyes. I put a flat washer and cinch it down a tad. If threads are out, it may fail. Great video. I am getting to the point i'll start buying parts for this next summer without screwing myself to much..
One thing I really miss about Japanese electronics is the pleasing smell that was imprinted into my brain in the 80's with all those Japanese-made Sony products that you got at best-buy. fyi - Malaysian electronics have this same smell.
My EG4 V2 server rack batteries didn’t even work with the EG4 AIO when I first hooked it up. I wish more things just worked when you connect them out of the box like this battery.
Over 300 lbs and you want to mount it on the wall ??? I’d resort to ground mounted, stacked or bolted down. Thank you for the review, very informative. ❤
You can mount in any orientation? My home has old unused brick oven in basement kitchen that seems perfect and was just thinking that I could custom build one. But how could I build one using something like this or EG4, I could mount them the orientation that a brick is laid, for lack of a better example...?
The fact about the casters at the bottom of the unit, i totally agree with you to remove them. That is a weak design. Each of the 4 wheels has to be rated for more than 300 lids (including safety factor), not the whole set of 4 as a total.
Yeah Will, I just picked up the same impact as well as an 18V framing saw and even an 18V track saw. The tracksaw makes very nice finish quality cuts. Im currently making the switch to Milwaukee. Thanks Will
I have a vacation home on an out island in the Caribbean where the grid is very unreliable, so there are frequent power outages. The power can go out multiple times a week, and even multiple times per day. Many properties have whole house backup generators, as does mine. I’m currently faced with having to replace mine as they only last about 5 to 7 years. Unfortunately they can also be expensive to import, maintain, and to run. Propane is the most common fuel, but diesels are becoming popular. Either fuel is expensive at about $6 per gallon. The propane generators in particular can be frustrating to keep running because of a lack of qualified service people and the environment. They are not the most reliable, and they are fuel hogs. Given the nature of the outages a battery pack like this would seem ideal. Seamless transfer and quiet. This battery pack paired with a EG4 Hybrid Inverter configured for ‘Battery Backup’ would seem perfect?? I wonder if I am missing something? I don’t have any plans to install solar, but that might change in the future. For now I just want to have another alternative to an annoying generator.
Love your videos Will. Given all the batteries you've picked up and tested over the years, how many KWh would you save you have to date? Just out of curiosity.
I'd suggest making a wider base / bracket for the wheels which would stop it being so easy to topple, although that would make it impossible to get close to the wall.
I enjoy your content. Can you do a video detailing AC coupled and DC coupled system also can you touch on the combination of the two in an install. Much appreciated
Great review as always! Why would one want server rack batteries vs 1 large 16kwh battery bank? It seems cheaper to buy the battery in large 16kwh banks?
Thanks for that video, one observation, could you place them horizontally on the floor? For the battery cells they would be horizontal and not vertical? Or does that have no influence on performance at all, thanks
It would be awesome to see a review of the Basengreen DIY batteries. They have about the same power as these Ruixu or EG4 batteries at about half the price.
Thanks Will! BTW, you'll find that heavy wheeled batteries, like a tall load on a hand truck, must be "top-balanced." Everyone knows that even an ordinary lightweight broom is nearly impossible to balance with the big end down, but can be managed better if it's top heavy -- as long as the appropriate fine motor skills are brought into play. Doesn't excuse poor design and execution, but it does highlight one possible workaround!
Awesome video and information! Thank you! Don't know if I missed a video about Vatrer batteries and if you can use them with the EG4 systems or if someone has done it. Any knowledge about this would be appreciated! Seems like it wouldn't be a issue. Thanks
Solid state marine batteries have peaked my interest the weight of 100 watt per pound sound really good and the cold temp performance of -4f of charging and running and max temp of 155f maybe check them out the next step in battery technology in my opinion
Watching your channel for quite a while now, awesome content. I wish you would make a list of products available in europe, especially Italy. Most of the products aren't available here and inverters would have to be 230v anyways
Ok will, I love your videos and I would like you to build a battery using a 4 12.8 280 ah battery for a 51.2 cart battery, because you can get like 4 280 ah eco worthy for like 1600.00 compared to like 3200 eg4 big batteries. For us budget minded people.
@willprowse How would this work with an existing rack (6) of EG4 LL v2 batteries? Since the inverter only has one comm port, I'm not understanding how you can mix and match. Do you just daisy chain this thing into the mix? I know you told your viewers to go watch the current sharing video, but I'm having a hard time understanding the communications part of the equation.
Another excellent informative video, much appreciation for the insight. I am a bit confused though as to why you think tariffs would affect customer support. If we do away with federal income tax and go to tariffs that's an immediate 25-30% pay raise for us and we can choose when, where & how to spend our hard earned money. If that happens as the sole provider of our household I'll finally be able to afford buying some of these systems I've been watching you review and torture test.
Thank you Will! So, since this is closed loop with EG4 inverters....hitting the emergency disconnect on the EG4 inverter will disconnect the ESS / Batteries also?
Yes-disconnecting the EG4 inverter via the emergency disconnect will cut off the connection to both the inverter and the ESS/battery, which is a standard safety feature. Especially if the system is set up in a closed loop.
Any thoughts on ordering batteries now for a project 2 years down the road knowing tariffs are coming and possibly loosing the 30% rebate in the future? I cant imagine them being cheaper in two years but there’s still a lot of innovation going on too.
I'm thinking along these lines too. These are not buy and forget items. They need a charge to be maintained. Also, I'd not wait too long, there is a Calendar Aging aspect to their longevity.
LOL, not "loosing" anything: tightening restrictions! Or adding tariffs. But two years is eternity in tech/battery tech. Probably not wise to invest now as the time value of money and the probability that the tech and price will just get better is such that your investment in something that's just going to sit around will probably degrade more than the discount you receive now.
hi, thanks for great videos! Please could you make a video comparing pros and cons between HV ( high voltage batteries) vs LV ( Low Voltage batteries).
On the eg4 vertical battery, you have a direct support for RSD. It's actually quite simple. You plug your eg4 battery into your 6000 XP, you connect an external mushroom switch and when you hit it everything shuts down and the breaker is tripped on the battery. Would you please amend your video to include RSD testing? And would you please start including RSD review in your hardware testing. RSD option is not very expensive. It's fine to ignore RSD on little toy systems for an RV, but when you spend 5 to 25 Grand on hardware, it's pretty silly not to include RSD for the extra safety. The basic tigo modules where you can connect two solar panels per unit are pretty cheap.
Yes, Drump will be making america poor again for sure with all these tariffs while the rich just keep getting richer. People don't understand that they prices are passed directly to the consumer and the CEO's get to pocket more money from "increased" costs due to them being greedy.
Will, was told about your channel by folks on school bus convention site. This item looks like a great idea for a whole home off grid mini home system. Looking to run all the electrics and DC systems using a 2500 to 3000 watt solar panels, 5000 watt gasoline generator, and at times a 30 or 50 amp RV sight plug in.what is your opinion on this situation? Thanks for your information!
in eu it need to be on the posetive list provided by eu to be covered by insuriance or to grid connect it for example maby thats what he is talking about we have a positive list for solar equitment equitment in eu if the equitment is not on that list i would not connect it inside a building or connect it to the grid not on the posetive list is not a good sign if it did not have a CE stamp it is deffently also a no go
Would you consider this build to be as good as or better than the eg3 power pro wall mount ? I like the idea of not having to update the battery like you must do with the eg4. While i have the skills and knowledge to install a solar system, i am no good with computers and updates, and always seem to jack something up.
I have the 6000XP with 3 lifepower4 server rack batteries. Can I add this battery to my existing battery bank and keep closed communication between all of them?
You should start a whatever you want/variety channel. I know in the past you had some ideas car's, etc. Even your once a year rant on polyester and other such items you could be more open with and not risk as much backlash on the solar channel.

Is it UL Listed? I had my 46,000 watt hour battery bank catch fire and do $150,000 damage to my shop. A BMS failed, 12x300 AH Batteries in 2s6p for 24 volts. The repairs in the shop should be done in 2 weeks, 4-1/2 months after the fire. I am going EG4 18Kpv with 5 outside EG4 batteries but have not committed yet. EG4 is UL Listed and EMP protected.

Supports Pylontech CAN/RS485 so connected to my Deye inverter first try and BMS communication just worked with master/slave batteries.

we know how to speak his own laungege this time
and the record shows when trump did it last time on washing machines the price became higher then the tarrifs he pushed...
you cant convert and end up at the same price, that is not how the world works, you always have to add more..
why would he not do what he says.

you are use to it, and you dont see it in the end
Ask farmers about soybean sales to china post tariffs.
@@phhowe17 They need to do what Chinese companies do and run their stuff through middleman countries to make it appear they are made from somewhere else. Just add that "made in Thailand" or wherever stamp on the quick stop and they are good to go. Seriously though, US tariffs are, in effect, political theater, to the detriment of US farmers and companies that get hit with retaliatory tariffs.
Some of the tariffs on China are to be waived if they stop Fentanyl precursors from entering the USA
Thanks for the detailed review!
I've been using my Lithi2-16 to power the majority of my house loads daily since July, paired with a 6000XP. I've not had any issues so far, and it has allowed me to become a net producer of grid power. It's a pretty cool battery for the price.
hey bud, can you share more insights about your experience with the battery? We are just about to hit buy but still undecided
Thanks Will - this is great information.
You are the best! Thanks for sharing.
appreciate the review
I thought of pace when I was looking at it 😂 if can't verify, I cant put in video. I think you're right though
And holy cow!!! That's crazy cheap

Would appreciate a breakdown review of those small solar generators by Pecron. I'm looking at the E600LFP specifically. Only interested in the tiny portable context. Glad the house channel has been working for you. I preferred the previous setup, but I like living tiny and hate living in houses. But to each their own :)
Great video how’s always? I always learn so much thank you.
Not sure if you made a typo, but the Ethos is not outdoor rated and is not self-heating.

One thing I really miss about Japanese electronics is the pleasing smell that was imprinted into my brain in the 80's with all those Japanese-made Sony products that you got at best-buy.
fyi - Malaysian electronics have this same smell.
We are at the point where I'm nervous about investing in a system because of how quickly the quality is going up while prices are going down.
Law of diminishing returns says otherwise
I'd be a little worried about long-term support. It'll be interesting to see whether they'll be around 5 years from now...
Please do a build and review of the Apexium kit. 15kwh for less than $2000. Thanks for all the great videos.
do you have this one? mind sharing your experience?
Thank you Doctor Prowse
Thanks 🎉
Awesome package ❤
Great review as always! Why would one want server rack batteries vs 1 large 16kwh battery bank? It seems cheaper to buy the battery in large 16kwh banks?
Thanks for that video, one observation, could you place them horizontally on the floor? For the battery cells they would be horizontal and not vertical? Or does that have no influence on performance at all, thanks
11:40 I have one of those Reddy Kilowatt stickers on a manual transfer switch I use for my emergency backup system. 😂
It would be awesome to see a review of the Basengreen DIY batteries. They have about the same power as these Ruixu or EG4 batteries at about half the price.
And the other DIY boxes- Apexium and Yixiang
Can't find any available for US. Only EU.
Where do you buy them for USA? The one that would compete is out of stock right now.

Im interested in the fire extinguisher you mentioned how would that work?
Watching your channel for quite a while now, awesome content. I wish you would make a list of products available in europe, especially Italy. Most of the products aren't available here and inverters would have to be 230v anyways
Have done any reviews or recommendations for AC battery chargers.?
Why couldn’t you use the super cheap LiTime 12V 560AH batteries for the Flexboss? Connect 4 in series? Would the 250A BMS limit the system?
Will, can you do a capacity test on this battery and see how it measures out? Thanks!
Thumbs up 👍
Ok will, I love your videos and I would like you to build a battery using a 4 12.8 280 ah battery for a 51.2 cart battery, because you can get like 4 280 ah eco worthy for like 1600.00 compared to like 3200 eg4 big batteries.
Will da Thrill continues to be the mensa!!!!!!!!!!
If I were a manufacturer I would consult WILL. Get him to design a perfect battery. You would be the top in the world.
I would love a review on the TEMGOT 12V 460 AH series of batteries if you could be so inclined
I haven't been able to find the video referenced at 8:50. Could we possibly get a link? Thanks.
same question! I have 3 EG4 PowerPros but might want to add one of these bad boys in parallel
I'm looking for the video, too.
Does Will have a video talking about current PV panel manufacturers and which is best quality/warranty/value? If not I think that would be great!
Tariffs will also hit Eg4, sol-ark and certainly all cell and panel resellers

@WillProwse, if possible, any information if this system will work with a Solar Edge HD wave. Thanks for your help. Great videos, and Merry Christmas.
00:43 "NOT Indoor rated" ???
I’m confused on that. I thought outdoor rating > indoor rating 🤔
in eu it need to be on the posetive list provided by eu to be covered by insuriance or to grid connect it for example
maby thats what he is talking about
we have a positive list for solar equitment equitment in eu
if the equitment is not on that list i would not connect it inside a building or connect it to the grid
not on the posetive list is not a good sign
if it did not have a CE stamp it is deffently also a no go
