It looks like Phone Skope has a universal phone case (it's a clamp) that would be a solution to multiple different phones. The Magview does seem simple and interesting but I stopped using magnet attachments for my phones as I feel that slowly over time they almost decrease battery life. Thanks for the review!
@@surfearth1 1-, no it doesn’t spin on my spotting scope. 2-not sure about the scope. It would depend on the size of the scope and if Magview makes that sized adapter.
If you’re using iPhone max models the MagView magnet isn’t strong enough to hold them correctly. Contacted customer service zero response. Just ordered PS setup. Hopefully better experience.
Thanks for the great review. Did you find the MagView cover got in your way when you were looking through your scope, especially for a prolonged time? Can you easily move the attachment on the scope’s eyepiece so you can switch the direction of your phone between portrait & landscape mode?
I have not noticed the flip cap in the way at all when I am using the spotting scope without the phone. And yes, it is so easy to remove and replace your phone. Basically, you have your camera on and as you move closer to the scope you can see the image on your screen. First as a tiny fit and then larger as you get closer. Just keep the image in the center of your screen and when you get close enough the magnets grab it and your set. Pull it off, change settings and right back on in seconds. I love it.
Unfortunately, I am not sure. My phone appears to have two lenses but I have never paid attention to how or when they work. Sorry that’s no help, but thank you for watching.
It is actually really easy. You just turn in your camera and as you approach you spotting scope , the picture shows up as a small dot on your phone. You just keep that centered on your screen as you move it toward scope until the magnet grabs it.
I tried that and it worked with mine and held the phone but the hold was less than it is with the metal plate on the outside. I would assume the thickness of the case would make a difference too. My case is made of two layers and is over 1/8 inch thick. Hope that helps.

When you put your phone on the Magview does the phone spin on the optical? Could you mount it to a rifle scope?

Should check out the Ollin adapter. It is kinf of spendy but super simple and fast to setup.

doesn't the metal plate interfere with inductive charging?
Correct. You can’t use inductive charging with EITHER one. Mag view because of metal-phone Skope because of thick plastic and rubber logo.

How hard was it to line up your phone to get a clear picture with the magview and switching to video

Another negative of the magview is switching from portrait to landscape.
