Just listen to how he answers what is next. It's all "I" and "me". Look at the teams that are thriving, it's all about "we" and "us" as a group and team. I wonder if the team has lost hope in their coach? It seems like the morale is and has been down for a good couple of months now. Just my observation. As a SAFFA, I feel for the Ausies man. I know they will bounce back to return to their former glory. They have a passionate nation behind them. I just don't know if it will be under EJ.

Not a fan of Eddie but what I can say is he was smart taking this team to the WC. He knows there was no way they were going to win this WC even with some senior players he left out the squad. But what he's doing is giving these guys the experience. Aus have a very young team. Watch them at the next WC. Even before that. Give these guys two years and they are going to be a force to he reckoned with. This coming from a Bok fan. So I see Eddie long term vision. Just not sure if he will be there.

Let's talk about the state of Rugby in Australia for a second. I think Rugby is a lost cause now in Australia, i would love to be convinced otherwise. I think where the money has gone and been pumped into for so long and now being more or less dried up has left us with irreversible damage. Look at how many registered Rugby players there are in Aus. It's pathetic for a country that's bigger than most of our competition. The real issues are how ARU has been run for so long, pumping money into all the wrong places, Rugby is probably Aus's 5th or 6th sport now, the 5 team system in the Super League, the privatization of the competition not making it easily accessible to the working class, and that most Private school kids are more ambitious in life than playing for the wallabies. Essentially the strategy for ages has been recruit the best Islander talent because all top athletic Aussie talent goes to NRL and AFL. Long story short these are your obstacles to overcome and I don't think our culture cares enough anymore. I remember the early 2000s every one was so geeed up for the Wallabies and it was everywhere. I only know a few people who are truly invested in the World Cup right now! This with the pace at which the so called tier 2 (which I would argue Aus are in now) are catching up tell me that it that we are now seeing the fully realised death of Australian Rugby. I'm super sad about this coming from Canberra, the home of our best domestic team that can still stick it to the kiwis. The Eddie Jones signing just screams of desperation and since we got him we have won 1/9 games including losses to Argentina and now Fiji. How can anyone possibly say that's ok.

Spot on. I’m a die hard nrl supporter but everyone supports national teams no matter the sport or rivalry. Look at the Matilda’s. The Aussie public is just burnt out from disappointment with the wallabies. So many performances that feel like they let the jersey down and you don’t feel proud of. It all starts at the top, and it feels like the old boys club just hasn’t adapted the game from the grassroots up. AFL and NRL have built a fantastic product but it’s because the talent coming through is so well developed that we have superstars at every age group in the game, and the competition is competitive across the board. Not sure how to fix Union but all I can say is I’m glad I didn’t waste 80mins watching that game, compared to the nrl finals which has been phenomenal watching. 🤷🏼

They should have won against Wales (some really bad refereeing non-calls against Wales but credit where credit’s due in that Wales managed to escape with the W). Fiji 's kicker was incredible and they are contenders to leapfrog into the top tier of Rugby. Australians must now accept we have a developmental side, and we were never in contention for this world cup. 17 penalties lost us the game in the end, but across the board not the best performance from the Wallabies. Eddie Jones had the hard task of trying to salvage something from a hard defeat. We see character and i remain of the opinion Eddie Jones is the best coach by a long margin to manage the Wallabies revival.

Becoming the coach of the wallabies in the same year of the RWC is an extremely short time, especially when you are trying to fix a team that has been on the decline year by year.

Actually Rennie was doing well, a couple of close losses to big teams like France and Ireland made his stats look far worse then they actually were. The only reason they lost by a point to Italy was that Donaldson missed a conversion that an under 16 schoolboy regularly puts over. The sacking of Rennie by Hamish McLennan was devastating for the continuity and morale the rebuilding project. McLennan is the real architect of this disaster.

To come into a World Cup with 5 straight loses and a squad that lacks depth, experience and exposure is a complete failure in both leadership and management. 4 years to build and invest for this. As a Fijian. Jones done a lot of good works for wallabies b4. I think wallabies needs some new faces. I take my hat off sliper on his age. That is telling me that they needs a new faces. Im so proud of him because he's still there. Pacific islanders needs a coach like Jones but we don't have money to afford him. Tell you what, Jones will be good coaching my pacific team because we have so many good talents around there. To be honest, i don't see any good players like in the old Wally's like tim horran and others. Thats why his struggling to pick his team. They got more good players in rugby league but less in rugby union. Please don't put me wrong.

Eddie's a lemon, ask him some difficult questions and he goes sour. Will he be around for the next world cup? If not why did they get rid of Rennie? Hard to fathom.
