It has looks to kill and performance to rival watches at 4 and 6 times its price tag.... I have had far more compliments in the first week of wearing the Tissot than I ever had in 5 years daily wearing of my Rolex Submariner
The Tissot Gentleman - one hell of a watch for the money - still would be at twice the price - I have mine on a Hirsch leather strap and it looks so refined - a nice quick comparison video - good to see my watch next to a Roly
I got my Tissot Gentleman silicium from Tissot AD in Canary Islands for €530. Black dial, black leather strap. A very beautiful watch for a very reasonable price. The indices/dial is just stunning. Herm, I love this visual review and comparison. I saw the Gentleman 80 recently in the duty free at Paris CDG airport, but didn't try it on. Today I popped into a local jeweller and tried this green model on. This evening I have watched a technical review and several good, thorough assessments of the watch. Yours though, has been my absolute favourite and the one that reminded me I am buying a thing of beauty that happens to keep amazing time. Thank you!
Both such beautiful watches. I own the Tissot seastar 1000 powermatic 80 Sunburst blue dial I do love it enjoy it I get compliments all the time But There obviously is a incredibly tremendous difference in quality when comparing to the Rolex I don’t love the braclet on the Tissot gentleman as much as i do on the prx or sea star but still very beautiful especially in the green dial. In my opinion. Possibly buying one soon to add to the collection
This really isn’t a fair comparison. The milgauss is a quirky watch and to the person who likes it, it’s striking in person, especially the green sapphire. A more close comparison is this tissot vs a rolex DJ. But even then I suspect you’ll still pick the tissot
I love the Tissot. Actually for my budget i just can't buy a Rolex, even if i wanted to... Plus, in Brasil is not that good to walk around with a Rolex... So i already have my pick hahaha!
I like the milgauss, I like the Tudor black bay time only, I like the longines conquest but there is simply no reason to buy any of them instead of the gentleman. I'd rather just get a Tissot for 650 ish and then get another type of watch like a chrono for the rest of the money.
I think the best video to compare them each other, I am sure other people like me who want to see them together before purchasing would like that video to have an idea about the both at the same time. Thank you so much.
Horrible video as far as comparison. Anyways, it’s Tissot fit the win hands down when comparing price. The Rolex is waaaaay overvalued fir what you get. And Tissot is (as always) properly priced for what you get: Up to 80 hours power reserve , (more than a Rolex) way cheaper price. When you compare movement, just look at what you’re getting for the price. ETA is not anything special but hence the reason for the affordable price. Hublot uses ETA movement. Would you rather pay 15-20 grand for the same movement? The choice is obvious unless you have money to burn and don’t care about cost. Tissot has been around longer than Rolex and have a great reputation. Very underrated watch company that makes great products.
It really doesn’t make you wonder why. There are plenty of fantastic watches you can get for less money than the milgauss but the tissot is still not comparable to any of them. Looking similar does not mean they are the same in the slightest
@@florianmeijer5027 It is indeed insane that prices have risen so much. When I bought mine I paid the equivalent of 600 euros for it and that was online at Uret.se. Now it costs 762 euros converted there.
I have the blue Gentleman. And I consider to get a green as well. Excellent watch. While I don't argue against that Rolex is higher quality than Tissot, the insane price of the Rolex cannot be justified. Of course you pay the main part of the price for the brand and status. What would the Rolex cost if you did not pay for the brand? Twice as much? Or more?
Great video, thanks! I would say there is way more similarities then just that they’re both fruit. I’m looking for the best value for money OP alternative and I think this Tissot might be it.

Well, Barring any obvious special material differences. (Like a solid gold band) or something. So? At what point are you paying SOLELY for the name? I can understand the idea of wanting to keep it prestigious and exclusive but really? Rolex can’t make a nice base model starting at say, 3,500? Because that still limits the “field” of buyers pretty damn steeply. How many more people would that (really) put into play? Double (maybe?) but also customers that would be happy to buy one at that price. (The other models would still hold their exclusivity!) Of course and I’m not a marketing major but I can’t see people thinking “less” of the brand for it? Hi Herm! Mooie video man. Thanks!
I would have bought the Tissot already if they did the combination of metal bracelet, blue dial and crosshair design, but for some reason they don't! Without the crosshairs it seems a little too plain to me.
On a review of the Tissot there was a lot of disagreement over the crosshairs. I do love the green but the blue without the crosshairs looked very sharp.
The Milgauss is overpriced like many Rolexes, the quality is undisputed, but if I want a quality watch, i go to other brands. The Tissot, on the other hand doesn't even cost that much for what it offers, similar calibers on a Breitling, to name one, you pay up to five times as much.
This may sound crazy, but I think the Tissot aesthetically just looks better obviously the Rolex has a better movement, but the Powermatic 80 actually is a pretty good movement and can be rebuilt. For the price you can’t go wrong with the Tissot!
Buy the tissot for everyday use or overseas trip. Save your Rolex for business casual and important outings. Rolex is difficult to get nowadays. That’s what I do. Have a yacht after S&B and a tissot sea star for everyday use and overseas trip

If enduring the test of time still counts for anything, Tissot wins. In the age of apple watches one really should consider how much they could buy for the difference in price. Unless of course money is no object to them. If that’s the case though I’d personally buy a Jaquet Droz over a Rolex any day.
I thought you were going to compare their magnetic resilliency…. Try to magnetize both, put them in a timegrapher, see if they are affected. Not compare their looks….
Nowadays wearing a Rolex is only a way to tell others “please, be aware that my finance is quite solid”….and most of times is the truth (when the watch is not fake). In some sense is a well visible certification about your financial capabilities in front of the people around you. And there is nothing wrong with this. There many other watches as good as or better than a Rolex that cost the half….but none out there know these watches so you can’t get your social certification.
People that said they prefer the tissot is because they can't afford to buy a rolex, if this same people could afford buying the rolex they would be saying they prefer the rolex. I can't afford a rolex but objectively the rolex is the superior watch in terms of finishing and quality. If someone would be giving away a tissot and a rolex for free and you have to choose one everyone would choose the rolex because it have more valuable and more quality. I'm not here trying to denigrate tissot I own four tissot in total and are excellent watches. My whole point is that people that said they prefer something they can afford over something they can't afford, they think they sound secure when in reality they sound insecure asf. Are both of this watches almost the same thing considering the price difference? Of course. Is better go for a tissot and buying a car instead of buying only a rolex? Obviously yes. Those are some examples of why is better go for the tissot instead of an rolex but in the end of the day the superior watch is the rolex and if you thinks otherwise you're just showing how insecure you're.
My video was not intended to compare the Milgauss and the Tissot in any detail, as it is clear that the Tissot would lose out to the Rolex in every aspect. Whether you can afford a Rolex or not shouldn't really matter. I completely agree with you that if I were to offer both my Rolex and my Tissot for free, where you could only choose one watch, the Rolex would almost always be chosen. I think it is time for me to make a new video because it has been a while.
Little to no difference, especially for the price. I had a Date Just before the Gentleman and being honest i see very little difference in the watch itself. The biggest difference is in the bracelet. Put them both on a quality strap and you will barely notice the difference.
Of course you can compare the two. Rolex is overvalued by 9000 usd and the Tissot is properly priced at 600-800 usd. Aside from the polished and more durable Rolex movement, the watches are almost similar. Now, dies that polish and more durability command an 8k premium over the Tissot? If you said yes, you need to get your head examined for tumors. With Rolex, you’re primarily paying for the name. Same as buying a 5k coach bag. Only sheep buy high end luxury watches.
Seriously, I like the Tissot more.
The biggest difference is the box
No it's brand 😎

The Milgauss is overpriced like many Rolexes, the quality is undisputed, but if I want a quality watch, i go to other brands. The Tissot, on the other hand doesn't even cost that much for what it offers, similar calibers on a Breitling, to name one, you pay up to five times as much.
Very interesting video! How does the IWC IW357002 compare to these two?
T İ S S O T NİCE ❤️
This may sound crazy, but I think the Tissot aesthetically just looks better obviously the Rolex has a better movement, but the Powermatic 80 actually is a pretty good movement and can be rebuilt. For the price you can’t go wrong with the Tissot!
You clearly haven’t seen the Rolex in person. The green sapphire alone will blow ur brains out
A more appropriate comparison with be a Tissot Gentleman vs Rolex 41mm Datejust, although the price difference is over
1000 %
Buy the tissot for everyday use or overseas trip. Save your Rolex for business casual and important outings. Rolex is difficult to get nowadays. That’s what I do. Have a yacht after S&B and a tissot sea star for everyday use and overseas trip
Great watches! Would have been nice to see a lume comparison too
The lume is weak on tissot..I would buy if there was better lume
I love Tissot personality think most Rolex looks very ugly. This greenish glass looks so ugly on the Rolex
good comparison for the eye. Ill take teh tissot and the cash. 😁
If enduring the test of time still counts for anything, Tissot wins. In the age of apple watches one really should consider how much they could buy for the difference in price. Unless of course money is no object to them. If that’s the case though I’d personally buy a Jaquet Droz over a Rolex any day.
Nice, Thanks for sharing
At least the Tissot was working 😉
At 6:03 You will see the RLX at work :)
@@herms-Channel Ok now I believe you😁
All watch’s running in the same track the biggest difference it’s the brand between T & R thanks you helping Rolex be coming more richer
I thought you were going to compare their magnetic resilliency…. Try to magnetize both, put them in a timegrapher, see if they are affected. Not compare their looks….
How much this tissot in jeddah?
@@herms-Channel I know I wasn’t talking about you neither your video I was talking about the people in the comment section 😅
@@andr3970 I know I know :)
Little to no difference, especially for the price. I had a Date Just before the Gentleman and being honest i see very little difference in the watch itself. The biggest difference is in the bracelet. Put them both on a quality strap and you will barely notice the difference.
J'AIME LA TISSOT
Nice review!
Could you please advise where you bought the Tissot for €650,-?
I bought one through a friend from a Swedish website. klockorochsmycken.se
I bought a Tissot PRX Powermatic 80.
What is acceptable for the second hand dial? Mine is moving around +2.5 seconds a day. Is this Oke?
@@valdrinxhemaili4283 That is pretty good.
Tissot dial much better
One on the left has a date, must be nicer and cost more.
Timex watches have dates…
G80 should be compared to smooth bezel DJ41 126300 not Milgauss.
Yup
theres about a 12k difference and rising with a milgauss do like tissot they got a bit patek vacheron look about them lately
yes
Apple and Pears😂😂
probably have the same mother, different father……
Of course you can compare the two. Rolex is overvalued by 9000 usd and the Tissot is properly priced at 600-800 usd. Aside from the polished and more durable Rolex movement, the watches are almost similar. Now, dies that polish and more durability command an 8k premium over the Tissot? If you said yes, you need to get your head examined for tumors. With Rolex, you’re primarily paying for the name. Same as buying a 5k coach bag. Only sheep buy high end luxury watches.
King rolex
The dial on the tissot though. Pops so much more.
Tissot more better
Te worst review ever. You have two great watches together and we couldn’t see a proper comparison…
It would’ve been interesting to talk about the long-term technical differences, because there is no doubt that Rolex is wildly overpriced. 5k
Lo
Rolex is just a watch nothing extraordinary.
Can you make a more boring video please, I’m still awake?!!!
Rolex are scams😂😂😂
Tissot are scams, buy a Casio
