- In this video recorded by Ross IELTS Academy, we share an IELTS Speaking Mock Test of a candidate with a band score of 6.5. We have inserted the examiner's feedback and the reason why she got that band score at the end of the video.

It is true
Dont.ıt varies from coubtry to country, person to person in speaking test that you are talking. I speak 8-8.5 band score and my everything was perfect, actually even better than listenee, i got 6.5 :)

Today i had a mock exam, my result is 6,5 in speaking part so that's why I'm here watching this candidate's speech, we have kinda same minuses like pauses, some errors but that might be because of nervousness, her ideas are good i like it

to be honest in my opinion she deserves 5.5 because of the so much "Aa,Aa" in all her three parts although she use somehow good conjunction and vocabulary

Thanks, this is the most realistic mock test I've seen, so just used it in my class. However, there are some unrealistic parts, especially taking the Speaking Part Two task back before the candidate starts speaking (it is always taken back when they have finished speaking, which is why taking notes is optional), and the examiner's reactions being too positive (they mostly just say "OK" and "Thank you", to stop the candidate getting feedback on how well or not they are doing, never "Very good" etc).
I really get motivated after i watch this video . Great thanks for the academy !

I thought that I won't even get 5.5 in speaking. But after watching this video I got little bit confidence. I'll have a real IELTS exam after 3/4 month later and if I can prepare myself in better way perhaps I could get 7+. Which is target.

Watching this i think i can get at least 6 for speaking, I did the test 3 days ago and i did exactly like her talking very fast and messed up here and there. But i didnt pause my speech and keep going even though i lost my idea in the middle of talking.

I am sure that I did the same in a mock test I appeared and may be I even did better but still I got 5.5

Honestly i can related to her speaking alot, I did an online mock test and I have the same issue of uncontrollable “um ah” fillers and nervousness..
i have tried alot to reduce it in past week… i have actual test tomorrow kind-of worried but hopefully it goes well..

She did a good job in all of the parts however, part two was even better that compensated for the inaccuracies and mistakes in the parts 1 and 3.

When I was 17 I gave an IELTS test and took 6.5 bands overall which I was not expecting at that time now I consider myself going to take 7.5 bands easily.
I got 113 in toefl (27/30 speaking section) but a 6.5 band in IELTS speaking though I showed great fluency and lexical resource during the exam, the only drawback was that some of my answers were short hence I feel the examiner's assessment of you can sometimes be totally flawed.
The criteria aren't the same in TOFEL and IELTS. I see you have a good command of English, maybe you had stress or something.

If my teacher was examiner there, she will get 3 bands
These are not all about only fluency, there
are also other three marking criteria where she did well. I know some people who are less fluent than the girl but got above seven in speaking.

Why did the examiner took back the cue card at 5:45 before she started talking? I think in the original IELTS exam you can still see your cue card while speaking. And you give your cue card to the examiner at the end of part 2. Isn't that correct?
It depends on an examiner, actually, sometimes you have your card until finishing second part, but sometimes not. It is totally okay

During the exam, the examiner gives you a cue card, a pencil, and a piece of paper for you to take notes. After a minute of preparation, the examiner will get the cue card back (however, some examiners just let their examinees hold the cue card while answering.)
I'm starting write here because I need improve my write. It's so hard, the words come in mind but I have difficult writing and form phrases 😅

Honestly speaking, i spoke more fluently without any mumbling than her, but i obtained only 6
before I read the Comment section, I was guessing that they are from my country, but I saw someone with a forign name that told the examiner was her examiner, and so they were not from my country. :D
