I discovered your channel about 6 months ago. Love the 'what's in my bag' videos and the recent travel vlogs are really enjoyable to watch. The footage you're getting with the Sony is beautiful. It would actually be great to get your thoughts on Elly's new X-T10, have you guy's done any filming on this camera? Are you enjoying using it, ect?
Hello inspired by your video. I am planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in April and if you can give me some ideas where is the best place to capture Opera House with the bridge / With Skyline on the background and Melbourne Skyline with Yarra River. Also the good time to photograph them. Is sunset a good time to take Opera house... Do I also need to take a ferry to capture some shots. If so which ones to take. Hope you can help.
Sorry man, we were only in Sydney for a few days and didn't have too much of a plan beforehand. We only found out about the Create & Explore instameet the night before, so even that was pretty last minute!
Hey Joe, When you get back, do you think you could do a video on color grading? The footage looks so good, unless that's just the colors from your Sony then I'm out of luck haha. Cheers!
Hi! Thanks for sharing ur video! It's so helpful. Can't wait for my Sydney trip next year. Btw, do u know how to go to Blue Mountain by public transport ?
Awesome video Joe! Just wanted to ask you how you did the colorgrading from 1:07? Like the cinematic shots? Really nice video as always, keep it up man!
Awesome video again! always wonder how you take those amazing long exposure shots! any chance we'll see a blogpost on your site with detailed info about the photos? :) anyways have fun in Australia!
I'm hoping to do a dedicated photography post from these shots in Sydney over at joeallam.co.uk, but for now check out jellyjourneys.com for all the blog posts related to our recent travels.
I'd look higher than a 600D, possibly a 750D which is 3 upgrades from the 600D or a 70D if you can find it under your budget. Remember though, it's often the lenses that are the best investments to make. Look into the 40mm f/2.8 as a great prime lens to get started with!
Hey Joe ! I really love your videos ! I also started to travel a bit, and I'm in Australia from 8 months now (I'm from Belgium) I recently , few months ago found me a new passion, photography and especially video making, I love your videos, and I'd like to know if could you please to do like a tutorial about your color grading or color correction? That would be really nice! Anyway thanks for you video, and continue like this ! :)
Didn't have any issues of it being busy or anything to be honest... but then again, I am comparing it to London which is notoriously packed. Most Aussie drivers seem to pay attention to rules and speed limits almost religiously which was surprising (but good) to see. I later realised that the fines imposed can be pretty strict, so I understand why!
In other videos I do, and I will do in a separate blog post for these Sydney photographs at some point. The main purpose of this video however was the travel aspect of it
Joe, you should get a little drone to get some clips from above. Love your edits, continue the goos work. Had been nice if you could watch our new video, from here in the northen norway.
Hi joe Allen you are my favourite youtuber and I love your work in this video I heard you were going to Byron bay. That were I live I have lived the my whole life and I would love to show you some good photography spot I know of. So if your reading this please answer you have inspire me to be the photographer I am know so thank!
Hey man, we spent a couple of nights in Byron Bay and loved it! You live in a pretty chill town with a true Aussie vibe! These vlogs were filmed in April and I have a backlog with all of my edits from Australia and New Zealand, which is why they're delayed slightly. Good luck with your photography!
I'm sorry you didn't particularly like this one. The music was from Ta-ku beats, the guy who hosted the Instameet, which I thought was quite fitting. I'll admit it's very different to other tracks I use in my other videos which are more chilled and cinematic, but I'm a big fan of Ta-ku in my personal listening!
Joe Allam If I may something? If not, Bad luck, I can't hear you at the moment! To my mind any music in a video should be incidental music only. Otherwise it becomes a deadly boring music video, you know, like the bangs put out. If the audience does not have a similar taste in music to the videographer the video becomes, well a pain in the arse, to my mind anyway, Commentary is good because it adds a personality to the video. Those travel videos people publish here where it looks like they are trying out for "action man" with music, I will not watch. Sorry 'bout the rant. Good pictures otherwise. cheers
***** Yeah I understand you. It's definitely all a matter of taste and opinion. I'm very selective over the music that I include, to make sure it's not distracting and fitting with the whole video, which is why I often go for cinematic sounds, similar to what you would find in a feature film. You'll probably enjoy my Macau video though, there's absolutely no music in it, as I wanted to share the sounds of the city only. Though read some comments and you'll see some people think otherwise. Obviously there's no way to please everyone... th-cam.com/video/5ShbKzbWNNY/w-d-xo.html
What LUT are you using ?
I hope you keep on doing this Joe!! Love it.
Oh, I'm just getting started with the travel content! I've got big plans for the future that I'm currently working towards!
Great videos Joe. I'm really enjoying your channel. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Do you have a favourite video of mine, or are you still new to them?

I appreciate the kind words, but there are many, many great photographers out there that you need to discover before making claims as big as this... 😉

your videos are good
is your girlfriend from Hong Kong ?
Thank you! Her family is Japanese, though she was born and raised in London.
To my mind that tuneless thumping noise you add cruels the poor bloody video.
