Mixed media is becoming very popular and Limber 2's precomp limbs are perfect for it, because you can add multiple layers into them and get a stop-frame or collage style, without having a 100 layers in your comp.
Perfecto. You probably know this already but Limber has a trial download so anyone can instantly give it a spin without paying a penny or signing up for anything.
Hi! it´s awesome :) Just one question, if I create a null to scale the character and then I use the Walker Tool for a walk cicle, the character size goes back to previous one... Is this normal or I´m doing something wrong?
Hey there. I'm afraid I can't help you with Walker Tool because I'm not familiar with it. Auto-scale works based on how End Controllers are scaled by any of the layers they are parented to. So if Walker Tool is causing the end controllers to be un-parented from a layer that was scaled, then that scaling will be lost.
There are a few different approaches to it which does make it seem complicated. One way we've made it easier is with the new, expanded limb library - it has over 100 limbs in, and you can filter them to 'Outline' - of which there are currently 42. These limbs have controls to vary the stroke width, change its color, allow it to scale with the character (or not), and so on. So hopefully, for a lot of cases, you won't need to go and rig a limb yourself, you can just use one of the presets.
Absolutely. If you bought it since May 1st 2024 the upgrade is basically the difference between the old and new price. If you bought it before then, it's 20% off.
I wish it were available for BMD Fusion of DaVinci Resolve; its workflow is way better than After Effects, but plugins like this make me still use After Effects.
I believe that there isn't a library for storing/purchasing things like walkcycles, etc.--I get the desire for custom animation instead of everyone having the same stuff but feel like even having a bin to store things locally that I've made already could be beneficial? If I have multiple characters or different styles having to copy and paste things between projects sounds like a real chore. Is there a better way for something like that which I'm maybe not thinking of?
@@howevisual7099 No you're right, there isn't a built-in tool for storing movement. Essentially, to do that well, we'd also have to be very prescriptive about how folks connect limbs together - how they rig and animate the body. Some bodies have a hip layer and a torso layer, both with rotation and position keyframes. Others might be completely different. And obviously we'd also need to account for one character having long legs and another having short legs, and so on. Other tools I've seen that do this kind of thing tend towards pretty low quality, canned-looking movement. And we are just not enthused by that end of the barrel.
Anything is possible but it's very unlikely we'd do that. I've tried the automation options in other tools and always found it sub-par in terms of the quality of the result. I'm sure we would do a better job if we put our minds to it, but it's a path I have no enthusiasm for. We're in this business to help people make good animation and feel the reward and sense of fun in doing that. I believe that the value in that process comes across in the output, and ultimately has more economic value than something automated that anyone with the same tool can reproduce in minutes.
@@animatabledotco I completely agree, especially with the possibilities that Limber allows (especially this new version). My comment was because sometimes you need to take a quick walk and I think it would be practical not to have to leave Limber to do it. Thank you for your response and your work.
Bro all this value for 65$.... Craazy so much value!!!!!!! Thank you limber !
Wow, that's huge!! This really gave Limber all the features I wish Limber 1 had for so long now. Amazing work!!

Is making characters with line work easier than it was before? I struggled learning that with the previous version. Maybe I’ll try again soon

Is there a discount for people who own version 1?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm in either way though! Just wanted to see if there's maybe a good workflow for reusing what I've built in the future :)

I hope someone does a comparison with Rubberhose 3. It looks like they both may have advantages
Wonderful! 👏🏻 Is it possible to add an automatic walk cycle option? with that I would be immensely happy!

PNGs are finally supported😂😂
I could not find the rotate end in the second version
Controllers no longer auto-rotate. You need a Locator instead. See here: limber.docs.animatable.co/changes-summary/#controllers
@@animatabledotco thank you I found it :)
