Tom Gauer won $7700 on Wheel of Fortune in the late 80s/early 90s; then in 1993 he won over $53,000 in prizes on Caesars Challenge (including a Chevrolet S10 Blazer).

Tom Gauer is my uncle. He was also on Pyramid back in 1979.

This was the first time I ever saw someone go into the negative on SOTC!! haha goodness I don't think the show was prepared for this!! Awesome!

+Kellie Rogers They actually don't go below zero. If a contestant gets a question wrong, and they have less than five dollars, their score simply reads zero.

+Kellie Rogers although on the original 1969-74 version, if any players (or in the later episodes of that version with couples) had zero or under they were eliminated from the game.

I think because it was the Speed Round, they wouldn't just lock her out. I don't what would happen if it was during the other rounds (they could've been eliminated then)

If a person goes to zero in this version of the "Sale", they aren't eliminated from the game.

As much as Summer Bartholomew is my all-time favorite, I feel bad for Lee Menning. She only got to operate the Winner's Board for a few weeks.

I’m surprised she left television after $ale went off the air

I like Lee as well but (correct me if I am wrong ) she left to take care of her newly born child didn't she?

Did anyone notice the asterisk from the Price Is Right?!

That’s amazing that Jas won $844 in prizes when she finished the game with a $0 score.

How long did the shopping format last on this series? Also, I'd like a clarification. Marc won the entire lot before the cash jackpot and Barbara won the entire lot when the CJ was a prize itself? Thanks. It seemed like the syndicated series had the shopping format last longer.

    • @Tubewings
      @Tubewings 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The syndicated shopping format only lasted about 10 months (with a four month break during the summer), while the daytime format lasted a little over a year.

The first fame game: What the heck was the answer? That sounds rather unfamiliar to me.

Must be one of the few times a contestant goes to zero--as Jas actually went below zero in the Speed Round.. and they blacked out her score.

When was Summer Bartholomew's first episode?

      New Year's Eve 1984.

Correct me if I am wrong but Lee Manning left shortly after this episode because of her newly born baby?

This is from 1984, not '85.

They used the Trivial Pursuit question in another episode. I've never seen a game show recycle questions.

I quit watching JEOPARDY about 5 or 6 years ago, but they used to do it all the time.
