In an interview, Eric Kripke said he liked Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's novel Good Omens, and was inspired by the Crowley character for his Crowley.
The plot of this episode and the title are a parody of the 1976 horror film "The Omen" where the baby Antichrist is swapped with the new born son of an American diplomat by satanic nuns, is named Damien and raised by a satanic nanny. Of course in the horror film the switch goes off without a hitch unlike in "Good Omens". (Coincidentally there is a Doctor Who link between "Good Omens" and the 1976 horror film "The Omen" with the 10th Doctor David Tennant starring in "Good Omens" and the second Doctor Patrick Troughton playing a fairly major role as the Priest Father Brennan in "The Omen".)
You're saying Aziraphale just fine. Crowley was Crawley in Eden but later changed to Crowley (as in crow, not crowd -- the opposite of _Supernatural)._
Commenting before watching...Oh yesssss I've been following your X files reactions for years now and as my xf "hyperfixation" began to fade, I happened to read Good Omens and fell in love with the tv show! Can't wait to see your reactions to Good Omens
Actually in the Old testament angels seem to have no trouble killing humans and even children at all. For example the Egyptian first borns, to punish the Pharao, in Exodus, were taken by the Angel of Death.
This show is my “Roman Empire” I think about it daily and have been practically counting the days since the last episode aired

yep some great characters leading the show lol. "We're enemies, get behind me spawn of hell.....after you!"
Lovely reaction. :)
Fun fact: Eric Kripke, the creator of Supernatural is a huge Neil Gaiman fan. :)
