    That’s like telling Jerry Cadorette that his bench press doesn’t work “for him”. To each its own, it’s all personal preference IMO

      there's a reason I've never stopped doing bench press and it's not just because I like it.

    I agree 100% with the grip, I can't say about the bench, I've never benched before however occasionally ill do some push ups.

    Totally agree with your argument, of fingers letting go and than the wrist opens up! Noticed that training with guy with two hands. Wrist flexion is iron but when the weak fingers open up than the wrist comes later... One strong guy I know stated he barly trains wrist, but his wirst was super solid. His fingers were notably stronge than most...

    Yo, just found your chanel. Great content. You should do a 10min simple vid on a basic program for arm wrestling.

      It’s in the works. I actually give out basic conjugate templates for free but you know, the program isn’t the secret to getting stronger and hiring a coach isn’t just about the programming.

    Just my opinion, I think heavy JM presses will probably have a better carryover than bench itself

    • @ChrisDrummondAW
      @ChrisDrummondAW  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great for straight press/elbow connection but they don't do as much for the shoulder and chest. No reason not to do both.

      @@ChrisDrummondAW Absolutely, I do both. I usually straight press so that's why I am biased lol!

    I'd guess that there are different aspects carrying over, but is there any point in doing chest flies vs bench press? I kinda hate bench pressing (probably since I'm pretty bad at it, repping 70kg at 95kg bodyweight), but chest flies are fun and I'm able to rep 100kg there, so it's more mentally pleasing.

    • @ChrisDrummondAW
      @ChrisDrummondAW  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do both, but fly is not nearly as beneficial for armwrestling.

    What'd you say is the armwrestling application of grip through the proximal phalanx of the fingers?

    • @ChrisDrummondAW
      @ChrisDrummondAW  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s where you *should* feel pressure as opposed to your fingertips. It’s a whole discussion on its own but basically you express wrist flexion with your palm and you keep the match within your palm with that strength, not so much with fingertips. But, also, thicker hands from training it.

    What about Dips? I think Dips is better than bench press and it is harder than the Bench Press.

    • @ChrisDrummondAW
      @ChrisDrummondAW  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dips are a fine exercise in general but I don’t think the effect on the wrist is quite as beneficial and you’re locking out your shoulders behind you which isn’t the case in bench press or armwrestling.

      @@ChrisDrummondAW Thanks for the answer, brother. What about the strenght endurance? What should we do for that? During the table time, I can only give my %100 only for 3 matches. I can defeat some guys so easily but after 10-20 minutes. They can defeat me so easily. I don't know what to do. That's a pretty bad situation and makes me depressed. Plz help, God bless you. Have a nice day.
