I knew Nothing more was nothing but pure talent... then I started hearing their acoustic versions and my mind is blown just how pure it truly is.. the world needs more of this in times as troubled as they are.
For a band to just sit there and belt out a studio-quality performance live is a freaking rare ability. Vocalists particularly have trouble sounding as good live as they do in their recordings because lol editing software. But that was freaking majestic. Incredibly impressive. Beautiful. And it had just enough rough edges to make it humblingly human, cracking with effort and emotion.
This song is everything. Every word reminds me of my ex but I want to listen to it again and again. Jonny's voice is amazing and their acoustic versions are so raw and beautiful.
I think the best line is "we say words, but we don't talk anymore." So many failing couples could say this, if they were honest...just cuts to the heart of the matter. In case you can't tell, I believe this is an outstanding song. I'd love to see this in concert (I've heard Nothing More does not perform their ballads or smaller songs in concert, but do not know if that's true. If it is, I hope they'll reconsider. Having some slower songs helps to pace the concert. Saying this as a musician myself, so I'm not just blowing smoke.)
We used to dream We used to name the stars Tracing futures lying in the dark They said we'd never last The brightest flame burns fast We say words But we don't talk anymore Tonight we're growing closer Closer to the end Were we fools for each other Or fools for falling in? Are we looking at forever? 'Cause I don't see it in your eyes Have you had enough or do we try again? The glass was half full when we stopped pouring in So just say when I see that sunset in your eyes again I got that sinking, sinking, same feeling They said we'd never last And they were right, but I can't help looking back Tonight we're growing closer Closer to the end Were we fools for each other Or fools for falling in? Are we looking at forever? 'Cause I don't see it in your eyes Have you had enough or do we try again? The glass was half full when we stopped pouring in And just say when We keep circling, it never ends We keep breaking down, but never bend We've been half alive We've been half alive for way too long Tonight we're growing closer Closer to the end Were we fools for each other Or fools for falling in? Are we looking at forever? 'Cause I don't see it in your eyes Have you had enough or do we try again? The glass was half full when we stopped pouring in So just say when Just say when
PattySMusic Jonny is an incredibly inspiring musician. Started off as the drummer then taught himself how to sing. I love self taught musicians because the heart felt burning desire to create that they have. They also aren't bound by the standardization and limits of conventional methods.
His voice is a lullaby for the damned . 😑😌 MUCH love, Daniel, Mark, Ben, JohnnyNM. (NM looks like ‘23’ sideways, which would make him “Johnny23”, and see, now🤦🏻♀️, ya just landed me in cotton-candy-happy nostalgia😂). See you my luvs in SLC 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Anybody know what tuning this is in? Or better yet a tab or chord chart that is actually correct, i want to learn how to play this song but all the chords ive seen are for in standard tuning but its obviously some open chord tuning so if i at least knew what tuning i might be able to figure it out, but if there is a tab or chord chart that is actually correct that would be great.

The "They said we'd never last, and they were right... But I can't help looking back" kills me every time...

I just love the emotion this band has
These dudes are crazy good live. Like holy shet...
Shame on the 4 people who dislike this. Simply pure perfection !
Glorious ❤
this song touches a deep part of my soul that I can't even begin to describe

Best band ever! I love you Jonny and Nothing More!
my fave song off the record!
The "but I can't help looking back" part always breaks me...
"Closer to the end" my favorite part
Love it !!!
Glen Hansard influence is all over this song. I adore it as a rock fan and as an indie folk fan.
The best version outside of Glen!
Man I love his vocals sooo much! They sound just like the studio version
PattySMusic would you believe he is self taught?
MAIDAI -the unhealthy woah that's cool! It doesn't necessarily surprise me tho

Great cover, man
I cant believe his talent.
Yay! Happy birthday to me! Literally. Lol
Heartbreaking. This happened to me. Long distance relationships suck.
Same here. No to LDRs!!
You aren't the only one my friend.
Yeah it's hard keeping your legs closed while he's away huh?......
@@thorbeorn4295 🤣🤣 dude that was harsh
@@elias.7513 We never claimed to be the only ones. We just said it sucks to be in a long distance relationship.
this is fake
he's still got his shirt on at the end of it
Migel the sloth is it really nothing more if Johnny isn’t topless

He reminds me of Steven Tyler. So talented 🎶
In FUCKING credible.
What condenser microphone is johnny using?
What reverb was used on his mic?
The music: Depression/The Bassist: Depression
2020?
What’s the tuning?
Looks like it's open C tuning
G C . . . as in God's Creation.
CGCGEGC
How do you figure out the tuning?
@@soadzero21 just by looking at the guitar players hands. There's no way those positions would make those chords other than in open C

Is this dude missing his Adam’s apple?
The 8 dislikes are trolls lol...
